People always want to know if these are "real" library books, and if it's okay for me to write in them. These are all books that I bought at library book sales. They are no longer in circulation at any library and belong to me.
I liked the card system because the dates kind of told you a story about the book's travels. And you feel connected to all those people who read the book before you.

Sometimes I’d look at books in the library just to see how many people had taken them out and for how long and I’d keep an eye out for names that had read a lot of the same books I’m case I saw them in others. I’d use them like book recommendations 😂

This video takes me back to 6th grade and reminds me of Mrs. Tibbles the Librarian. She had the sweetest and softest voice. I hated reading but I did enjoy going into Mrs. Tibbles’s library and asking her if she had any books about “owls” ( just really picked topics out of thin air) She then would proceed to look up owls in the computer and speak to me “ Well if you go to the back of the library in row J we have several”………….

In the 80s, our library had the pens to scan the barcodes with..the sound of the pens being run across the plastic cover...amazing.
