You're like, the only lathe woodworker I can stand on TH-cam anymore. You make really, really creative and well-made stuff (without resorting to three gallons of resin and leaving a pile of plastic excess behind). You pay attention to safety with your lathe, and your pieces are beautiful. You really make the best use of the wood - it feels so hard to find youtube artists who let the beauty of the wood shine. 😭
That, my good Man is quite one of the simplest yet most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. My eye and my brain clashed but I’m going with the eye. Wonderful ……seems a shame that it ends up a poor old mug. Thanks Morgan, again!
Hi, I always love the pieces you make with the aid of ( coloured ) epoxy, but this is a perfect example of a beautiful design just made from wood, thanks to your clever design. Well done, another unique drinking mug!
Stunning! I usually have no idea what the final piece is going to be, well I didn't today either, but when you were woodturning I thought this piece would make an awesome tumbler. Love it! 🥰😍🤩
That’s pretty cool! I was taught by John Wilson, the Amish oval box maker, to use regular table salt to prevent the wood from sliding around when gluing up and clamping. Just a pinch between your cheek and gums, I mean a pinch of salt between the two pieces of wood after you spread the glue around then clamp it up. I’ve tried it myself, it works. There’s enough sharp corners on the salt grains to prevent slipping.
That is a really nice travel mug! Your time and effort made this a lovely bespoke piece. I will suggest this again, you should consider getting a sponsorship from Hampshire Sheen. I saw this product was featured at a woodworking show I attended recently here in Ontario, Canada. I am sure they would appreciate the advertising, especially from a woodturner of your calibre.
Lynn😃 Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like this piece because I put a lot of thought and energy into designing and making it. Also, Thank you for reminding me of the suggestion to create a business relationship with Hampshire sheen 😉👍👍
Очень красиво получилось. Но подготовительная работа просто колоссальная! А можно склеить кусочки дерева так чтобы это был эксклюзивный массив дерева? ❤❤❤
WOW, so meticulous, so innovative and intentional...your gifts are truly amazing...I sure hope you love King Jesus, cause He mega LOVES YOU...thank you for sharing, and please keep amazing us with your wonderful creations.

Да, эта работа потребовала большой подготовительной работы, но я не знаю другого способа добиться такого результата.😉👍

Jean❤️, thank you for your comment. I too enjoyed watching the figures take shape according to the speed of my wood lathe. 👍

I can't even find Stainless inserts. Where do you find them? I could live with a push on lid.
Your “mahogany” looks like bubinga.

Yes, sometimes red woods look alike.😉
