Love this video! I stopped using rewards in my kindergarten classroom for over 10 years, way before learning about Alfie Kohn. I was so happy when I bumped into him while I was doing research on this exact topic. Now I have decided to chair a committee at my school, the “awards” committee and the first thing I did was change the name to “school-wide accomplishment committee.” I am going to use this video tonight to show my student’s parents, because it’s back-to-school night and I have to explain why my students will not be going home with stickers on their work this school year. So far, every year, all the parents in my classroom have understood why I do it and agree with me 100%. Thanks for this wonderful video.
