I have the sense that all of this was more than just about the making of a movie. Even more than a collaboration. This all came together in such a profound way. Then to have it end how it did. Tragic but somehow amazing too. I'm no huge Elvis fan, but there was a lot of love in that room on GG night, particularly between Austin and Lisa Marie. You could see the connection. Somehow there was a healing bond relating to her guilt over her son's death. She was able to clear her soul before dying and is now reunited with her son and her dad. Austin gave her such a gift. What a sweet soul he is. I wish nothing but good in his life going forward. Powerful! I will definitely now go see this movie. Now I want to go to Graceland too! Hope he wins the Oscar!

My son shares Elvis Jan. 8th birthday, I have been a fan as long as I can remember. Austin did a super job and you will see that when you watch the movie. We saw it in the theater 3 times and then bought the DVD, have watched it twice as well. Took the trip to Graceland only once in 86, would love to go again and stay more than 1 day to take it all in. I feel so sorry for Austin. I loved the movie - Tom Hanks character was a bit corny but Austin played Elvis better than anyone before him. I found the movie to be very emotional at the end - it brought back many memories of Elvis - but what a sad life he had and his audience never knew

The Presley family seems to be a sweet, sweet loving family. The movie is done so well and really pulls you into a private family to tell the story of an icon! I’ve always enjoyed Elvis’s music and the way he sung each one. If there is indeed a medical issue with the heart, I hope it is discovered so that Lisa’s daughters will get the medical support they need. I had a friend that died from a”cardiac issue” which was sudden and untimely …. No one imagined that my friend would die so young. It’s just heart breaking 😢

I don't know if I will watch the film. While he has Elvis' voice down pretty well, he looks absolutely nothing like him. Nobody could. That is the problem. Elvis was truly one of a kind.
One thing I do think about after this event is if it was appropriate for Austin to have still showed up in public (even though he was probably nominated for the CC Awards) so soon after Lisa Marie's death or if it would have been better to him to stay home. By going, you could say he was honoring her and her family, but by not going, it could have also meant avoiding any unnecessary publicity during this time. I could see both ways and I don’t think this is easy for him or anyone else involved in the movie, but it is something that could get you thinking over what’s right at the moment.
