Seth Hammons dat low B with that noize dead and dying distortion (I just made the effects up). !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their very virst album sounds like groove death than classic Swedish death metal. Bloodbath are like Pantera and Death for me, they simply don't have a single song not worth replaying at least 132 times.
IMO this is truly one of the greatest old-school style Swedish death metal ever released! This came out only a few years after I was born yet it's aged really well and still sounds fantastic in 2022! I love pretty much everything Bloodbath has ever released but this EP released in the late 90's is still without a doubt my favorite they've ever done!

Anyone know what kind of guitars, amps, effects, they use to get their guitar tone on this album? With them being a death metal 'all star" band, I have the image of old BC Rich guitars with EMG pickups and Marshall JCM amps, probably with Boss pedals/racks. That's my favorite gear, so I guess I think every death metal/black metal guitarist uses that stuff. You know, the old, neck-thru, mahogany BC Rich guitars with 20 million knobs and switches, thin and flat necks, three on a side tuners with the fancy "R" on the head stock, with on board EQ, on board preamp, etc...... like you see in old pictures of Slayer. And they changed vocalists? Who did they get when Mikel Akerfeldt wasn't doing vocals? Anyone that can answer these questions would be greatly appreciated.
I listened to this EP almost when it first came out, and I LOVED it. I still do, but I haven't been able to find other stuff by Bloodbath that I feel is worth checking out. What do you recommend? The newer albums feel so cold to me, no trace of these playful headbanging riffs.
+dubitataugustinus Eaten, Year of the cadaver race, weak aside, outnumbering the day, brave new hell. And afterwards you will start liking the other songs on these records I guess.
dubitataugustinus I have Cryptopsy forever inked on my back and they went to shit. In my top 5 I have Bloodbath, they have never ever disappointed me. I can hear this from somebody's phone without knowing that Bloodbath had changed their front man, yet again.... I will know that Bloodbath is playing. Start listening to them chronologically, you will see what I'm drunk blabbing about.
RTC and NMF are equally perfect, UTP and TFM are fucking amazing, but probably Swano departure made the band lost this unique sound, hope next album be in the old style,,,, Cheers.
humm his screams didn't come from the usual source like most metal growl tutorials do funnily enough perhaps a tutorial on how to sound like solid snake might be a little more helpful.
you will never sound like Mikael no matter how much you try, because every human is different. I recommend ignoring tutorials and practicing on your own to see what works for you without hurting yourself.
Favorite vocalist ever. Hands down.
And he recorded it after vomiting
Bloodbath's early stuff is my favorite

The rise of Bloodbath🤘The best Death Metal act of this century🤘🖤

Such a delightful ep!
Love the homage to Entombed Left Hand Path on the end keyboard part. That is a good album BTW \m/ \m/
Actually, the keyboard part from Entombed - Left Hand Path is a theme from 1979 horror movie Phantasm. th-cam.com/video/i3ieQxm_M2I/w-d-xo.html
