  • Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2020 | Exploring the Nile Valley from north to south, we see the highlights of Egypt. In the fabled city of Alexandria, we venture through a market wonderland, smoke a shisha, and stroll a Mediterranean promenade. In Luxor, we explore the pharaohs’ tombs and temples before sailing on a timeless felucca. Then we kick back on a riverboat cruise, enjoying iconic views of palm trees, minarets, and rustic villages. Our finale: Ramesses II's magnificent temple at Abu Simbel. #ricksteves #egypt #luxor

No trip is complete without watching Rick Steve's travel documentries. Each word that he says has a meaning & he doesn't say anything that doesn't have a meaning. It's like reading a textbook. Everytime you watch his travel documentry again, you find new things which you had missed grasping last time.

I wish to visit this place again…

Rick was taking a short flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel temple at the end. The rest of us poor tourist departed at 3am from hotel. Took the river ferry to cross from the Elephant island, hop on mini bus, transfer to a big bus, finally arrived at the temple around 7 or 8 am. I can't remember precisely, I was exhausted from sleep deprivation, my Nubian room was hot like an oven, can't sleep.
