    Careful not to plug up those two drain lines (open holes under the grommets). Those are drain lines for the sunroof and evaporator. Covering the grommets definitely worth doing

      Thanks for the info.. I definitely covered them with silicone.. I don't have a sunroof but if one of them is a drain for the AC evaporator that's not good.. I'll clear them both out asap..

    BRO you saved my butt!!!! I was minutes away from buying a new computer but when I took mine out I noticed the carpet had moisture. I used a hair dryer to dry my computer and the car fired right up. I also remember my no start issue only when it rained. I may still need a computer in the future but at least I know what was frying it. Thank you so much, I don't think you understand how many people appreciate these videos!

    Thanks for making this video. I have a similar problem on a 2002 Accord. It might a loose sunroof drain tube - but it seems like too much water for one overnight rain storm with the roof closed - or a loose grommet below that water channel that you showed. Thanks for giving me a good idea of what and where to look!

      Check your drain tube! I have a 2001 Accord and have had to deal with wet passenger side floor boards TWICE because of the drain tubes!! Those dang drain tubes on the right side wall under the glove box are RIDICULOUSLY SHORT! They are barely long enough to fit into the drain just a bit. Have to rig it so it can't come out or you'll deal with it annually. Terrible design by Honda...

    • @KingBaconMonger
      @KingBaconMonger 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@timandjaneth I had that problem with TWO of the 4 sunroof drain tubes. The car was so old - we ended up junking it in mid-2022 - that I just glued the tubes shut from the top.

Just sealed everything, we are expecting rain tonight/ tomorrow. I will follow up to see if this is my fix (fingers crossed) I have replaced fuel pump, fuel pump relay, ignition switch. Plugs, and wires. Thank you for posting this. Wish this was posted in more places.

    Question - was there a "vinegar" smell coming from the silicone you applied? Never use the sour vinegar smelling stuff on metal body parts, especially where water's involved (99% of the reason you'd be using silicine). The acetic acid (the source of the vinegar smell) will corrode any bare metal it contacts, & water will speed the damage exponentially. Always use the stuff that says "ultra" RTV (permatex), any color Ultra is fine, or the butyl tar - based non hardening "form-a-gasket #2. Just sayin'...
