I still binge watch them, Good Times, The Bonkers, Amen, Whats Happening, WKRP and Cincinnati. I just love the 80’s shows. I love laughing and those times.
Life was just a simpler place and time when this show was active. Too bad this era couldn't be frozen in time. To me, it still hasn't kicked in that most of the cast members are no longer with us, but at least they all left giant footprints.🌹

What’s so weird Sherman Hensley was the complete opposite off stage. He stared in a reality show where the cast wasn’t as wild as it is today, you barely ever knew he was in the cast, he was quiet as a church mouse, totally different from George Jefferson, that’s why he was so good at his craft!!

My favorites were Good Times, All in the Family, The Little Rascals, Different Strokes, Facts of Life and of course, The Jeffersons. They were all gems and never forgotten as they helped pave the way for more black actors and actresses to grace our screen, today.
Roxy Roker was a beautiful soul. It's sad that she held on to 14 years of marriage to a man who was horrible. He had 2 daughters prior to this marriage and did nothing for them and had nothing to do with them. Her family didn't like her husband at all. He was very verbally abusive to Lenny. He was very jealous of Roxy. She became famous and made more money than him by this time. He quit his job, took her money and made failed business ventures. Roxy was so humble to the point where she drove a buick and this man purchased a roll royce with her money. Roxy's husband had a mistress. He would take Roxy's money and spend it on himself and the mistress. She woulld follow him to this woman's home and show up asking him to come home. He would get pissed and tell her to leave. All she wanted was to be loved and have a 2 parent home for Lenny. Rip to a classy queen who deserved more than what she gave that sorry husband. ❤
my favorite character was Mother Jefferson who died in the 5th year of the series at 86....one of her best lines in the show was when she said with glee "it's so nice to be here with all my loved ones"and then she deadpanned "and you too Louise"..she was a great actor who said this and other lines beautifully
Mother Jefferson was gorgeous when she was young, wow!!! That was amazing aboout Ralph being a navy pilot I would of never guessed that, and Lionel aww my heart was broken he was the youngest of all to pass, and soo very handsome. I lstill watched the reruns of this show it's one of my very favorite shows still today.

The guy who played "RALPH" the door man was married to Dr. Skyne Uku, who was Chairman of the Black Studies Dept and later reduced to associate professor while I was completing both my Bachelor and Master degrees between September 1974 - 77 at CSULB (Long Beach State) after transferring more than 70 semester units from both San Bernardino Valley College and Long Beach City College as an advanced Junior at the university. While I was attending there I was told that Dr. Uku seemed to favor white people over her own Black race, even though she was the most DARKEST BLACK SKIN AFRICAN that I have ever seen in real life, and even more darker black skin than a South Sudanese. I was informed that if she would be talking to a Black student while a white person approached her, she would immediately stop her conversation with the Black student and start talking with the white one as if they were more important, and if she was talking with a white student, and a Black student approached her she would IGNORE the Black student as if they were LESS important. She talked VERY FAST with a huge AFRICAN ACCENT while speaking English which made it very difficult to understand her, and she always acted as if she was angry about something when a Black student asked her a question.. I remember taking one STUPID class with her during my first semester as a graduate student for my masters degree after having completed my Black Studies undergraduate degree,and I IMMEDIATELY "WITHDREW" from that class because she had a old white Lesbian professor name Dr. Audry Fuss from the Sociology Dept as a Co-Instructor to teach the class called "Racism & Sexism", and they were arguing with each other which made absolutely no sense at all, and I lost all interest in that class which coud have been a good class if it had the right instructors.. I did read a couple months ago that Dr. Uku remains employed as a Professor Emeritus at CSULB, and while studying some of the STUDENT COMMENTS, they mostly stated that she talks really fast, and that her strong African "Ibo" English accent when speaking is difficult to understand her, but that she was a good professor. I personally thought that she was a horrible professor, and the school probably appointed her to be Chairperson of the Black Studies Dept because they wanted the department to look really bad, before she was eventually removed, and they chose other professors to chair the Black Studies dept, including Dr. Maulana Karenga, the founder of "KWANZA" which is a Black celebration during the Christmas holiday season.. Dr. Uku's husband was obviously much older than her before he passed away..

As I was listening to the speaker, several of the actors transitioned tragedy. I was very sadden to hear as such or anyone basically,… as I am aware, it does occur. Nevertheless, it was a great show during that era. All casts were remarkable talent. Some of the older sitcoms were really great shows. And truly, as time progresses, season changes, and the perspective of character actors or actresses in today’s market, their identity in certain films has definitely created certain changes thru sound, vision, and performance in certain films. However, I will concur to the fact, that many actors and actresses from many old great movies, daily shows, or weekly programs, sitcom series that esteem from a good place, displayed such a definition in the filming industry which will always be remembered and not forgotten. Because each show illustrated a display of comfort, wisdom, friendship, joy, sadness, family, growth, struggles, laughter, maturity, compassion, surprises, and connection, etc. in certain ways that it was a platform of performance’s to illustrate and demonstrate by designed accordingly, especially when a positive portrait influence a message which is revealing and then at that given time, the audience becomes enlightened or perhaps a reminder that engage a lasting statement or moment to remember.
I used to see Paul Benedict and George Takei once a week in the lobby of the building I used to work in chatting with the doorman after acupuncture therapy. I worked with and was around more than a few celebrities so I wasn't all that star struck although it was cool to be around the actors I watched on the tv shows I liked. The Fonz and Luke Skywalker are short dudes. ahahahahaha

As I was listening to the speaker, several of the actors transitioned tragedy. I was very sadden to hear as such or anyone basically,… as I am aware, it does occur.
Nevertheless, it was a great show during that era. All casts were remarkable talent. Some of the older sitcoms were really great shows.
And truly, as time progresses, season changes, and the perspective of character actors or actresses in today’s market, their identity in certain films has definitely created certain changes thru sound, vision, and performance in certain films.
However, I will concur to the fact, that many actors and actresses from many old great movies, daily shows, or weekly programs, sitcom series that esteem from a good place, displayed such a definition in the filming industry which will always be remembered and not forgotten.
Because each show illustrated a display of comfort, wisdom, friendship, joy, sadness, family, growth, struggles, laughter, maturity, compassion, surprises, and connection, etc. in certain ways that it was a platform of performance’s to illustrate and demonstrate by designed accordingly, especially when a positive portrait influence a message which is revealing and then at that given time, the audience becomes enlightened or perhaps a reminder that engage a lasting statement or moment to remember.
