Carrie was upset, but she was way more upset when he stood her up at the wedding. And I mean they focused on that story for an entire movie. Carrie was so convincingly depressed, but this show just rushed everything and we barely delved into Carrie’s emotions. She will never see him again, that’s heart wrenching.

It was so weird, I’m a highly emotional person, I cried during so many of the sex and the city episodes and movies, yet this I just couldn’t shed even a tear? As someone who has lost someone via a sudden heart attack and everything that goes with it, she’s acting very normal. You have to go into planning mode with the funeral and having to make sure everyone else is taken care of. And you don’t have a moment to think about the death. It’s only after that frenzy is complete that the quiet sets in. And that’s about when the shock begins to wear off and you begin to crumble. And that’s when you do what she’s doing with walking constantly so she doesn’t have to sit still and be with the feelings. Also as textbook as it comes. You essentially busy yourself to exhaustion so that when you finally allow yourself to crash, you can hopefully crash. I think they have portrayed it all incredibly well in the series. Including this latest episode where she freaks out about the broken glass he had touched a million times. You cling to any inch of what’s left of them. I think they have done a good job across the board with the series and what happens after your allegedly carefree 30s.

I feel disconnected to this scene. Im not sure why. It seems cold and odd. The essence of Big is stripped down to a white room, black clothes and Carrie in a strange hat. Its about her, her loss. Not his personality. Big had a sense of humor and lots of friends. I keep thinking about him singing in the italian restaurant. He liked colors and humor. I think he would have chosen Sinatra "I Did it My Way" or something along those lines instead of this strange song no one ever heard before. I can't tear up because its not Big.

It's not my favorite venue, either, but it's not that easy to think through everything right after a death. This is an art gallery in New York; she may have wanted to avoid a traditional funeral home setting or one of them had a connection to the place. Maybe they were expecting a larger crowd than the funeral home could accommodate? (Notice some people are standing without seats in the back.) And actually, the hat (fascinator) isn't strange; it's common in the UK and the kind of thing Carrie wears.

Her husband noticed that she wasn’t waking up when it was time for her checkup. My mom took me to the kids area, because she didn’t want me to feel traumatized by the whole incident (Also because I am autistic.) The woman’s death draws eerie parallels to Big’s unexpected passing, as they both had sudden heart attacks.
