When I was drinking, I couldn’t fathom not drinking! 22 years sober and now I can’t imagine choosing to drink. At first sobriety was full of surprises. I re-discover all kinds of interests I forgot I had (too busy getting blasted to visit a bookstore let alone read a book.) And not for nothing, I also discovered that I didn’t actually like or have anything substantial in common with most of my drinking buddies. Congratulations, Nick! You’re a national treasure. Every night I look forward to watching you dance. Thank you for sharing your talent and now your sober story with us.😊

Hey uncle Nick . Just wanted to say congratulations 🎊🎉🍾🎈 great job 👏🏽. I can only imagine the road you’ve went down, I’ve worked at a medical detox/rehab for the past 5 years and see the ups and downs-in and outs of frog and or alcohol abuse. I make sure to never think my life is so bad, people shouldn’t judge because you never know what ppl went through to make them do those things. I also humble myself daily. My clients are the sweetest and I just try to brighten up their life even only for a few days. Keep it up no matter what anyone says you should be proud of yourself. 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 smallest things that count ⭐️

I’m am allergic to alcohol…an alcoholic. Since I had my first beer in high school. I’m in my 60’s now. I’m happy to see your life changed because you made a decision. I made the same decision once for 5 years, once for 14 and many sober years in between. Yes, life seemed better and I am thankful for all that time. However, any real alki knows that drinking IS who we are. I am diagnosed as a clinical, completely the definition of an alcoholic. I have to really not have drinks. I’m also not a drug addict, aside from alcohol.
Thanks for sharing! Continue to be sober AND be the funniest guy on the internet!

I'm Muslim, so never been around alcohol growing-up. Once I tried it as an adult, I was taken aback by it's horrible taste; additionally, my peers' awful behavior when drunk made me very uncomfortable. Fast forward, I'm a 47 year old female and I look decades younger than most of my peers. Avoiding alcohol has been a blessing; besides being addictive, it's inflammatory, hormone-disrupting, causes weight gain and puffiness, diabetes, heart issues and alcohol-related dementia. Alcohol just has no place, in any person's balanced lifestyle.

She was beautiful and when they found her, she looked like a 90 year old woman..and no one could help her and drs could not save her. Too late. Addiction does not run in our family, but she wanted the pain to go away. I am sorry to hear what you have been through but I am so glad and happy you are here to talk about your success.

Congrats on 6 years! I’m at 6.5 myself. I would never try to take anything away from someone who stopped drinking. Huge accomplishment man. But when you said “AA wasn’t for me you lost 80% of my attention. I’m a big believer in AA and any time I hear somebody say AA didn’t work for me, or wasn’t for me all I hear is “I’m eternally unique.” Most who say those words decided to not sit all the way down and truly invest in themselves by working the steps faithfully, with a sponsor, within a community of people all after the same goal. A wise man In my AA group always says “if you keep drinking your life probably going to get worse. If you stop drinking your life will probably stop getting worse. If you come to AA and work the steps your life WILL get better.” Don’t sell yourself short brother! I love my therapist. I love my AA group. I love the small groups in which I participate. I love my sponsees. But it takes all of it to truly clean the crap out of my head and heart to truly live a happy and healthy life. It is was never about the alcohol. It was about me. Keep up the good fight and congrats again! Keep dancing Nick!

I quit drinking 6 years ago and I cannot agree with you more. My life has improved in ways I never even thought possible. I now own a six figure business when I couldn’t afford hot water at one point in addiction. Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing your journey with your people. You are helping more people than you know. 🙏❤️🌻 We do recover.

Thank you for sharing your story. Openly celebrating your sobriety on a social platform is allowing someone to hear your message when they need it most. One Day at a Time.

Amazing job facing your problem and making a change! You took a hard path of self reflection, exploring your personality, and altering it to improve yourself and your life. That is a very very difficult thing for most people to do! I congratulate you on that, not drinking is just a convenient side-effect!
One day, and it may be years from now, I have no doubt that you will get to the point in your transformation where you won't even worry that "falling off the wagon" is a thing that could happen to you, because you aren't just a passenger in your life anymore - you are the wagon and you kicked socially anxious drunk Nick off it 😄

Very happy for you. You are a light in the world and alcohol would have snuffed that out. Fly free of that burden now. Nothing holds you back anymore. Godspeed.

Not a drinker, but I just quit weed 6 days ago and hearing you talk about how you owe your success to sobriety really inspired me. I started doing comedy 2 1/2 years ago and I don't want anything holding me back. Keep dancing my friend.

Attaboy Nick! You deserve your successes! You are helping others and you bring crazy joy with your Media (job and entertainment).
I was married to an alcoholic and, after 16 years, I couldn't take it anymore. So I filed. He was a wonderful person and I am glad he was able to finally stop drinking. Late for us but good he stopped.

    What any amazing video Nick!
To speak straight, so honest and without any editing!
Thank you for sharing your story. I grew up in an alcoholic family, married an alcoholic like my father. Realized I was highly allergic to alcohol. Stopped and had been the best thing for me and my life.
All the things you said about how you were feeling, going through on your journey. I can relate, as so many others watching this.
    Thank you again, Congratulations 🎊

You’ve come a long way, what you thought killed your only made you stronger. Never downplay the journey you took to get where you are. We all have a journey, I have one that tore me down. I’m still waiting to get my story out. But it has made me stronger and I have never been so happy.
