Heads up, anhelos casualty ability does not use the stack, it is an additional cost of casting the spell. So you cannot. For example, play dual caster mage and use it to both copy the spell and as the casualty cost.
Double Vision and Twinning Staff both amazing. The moment when you get a Tutor then copy the Tutor find kess and twin staff then recast the Tutor to find another tutor plus ral and double vision. Then tutor for your win con spells like time Warp exprorpiate and army of damned. You can pick one extra turn spell and some counter spells to get you through the round and then time Warp into another tutor for other win cons. It's pretty evil if the engine is ready
I have been trying a similar list and I can assure you that adding a Field of the Dead is a must. Turning the land of the turn to a 2/2 zombie that can enable Angelo casualty's is a great help.
Great video man! Love how you show the techs, great job! got me pumped up! But just want to point out that the interaction between Sublime Epiphany and Dual Caster mage doesn't work because casualty reads "as you cast this spell", so the mage got to be on the battlefield as you cast the sublime epiphany, the same happens with Talrand's tokens, but all in all I love the video, deck and techs! Excited to see more! Cheers!
Thanks for the support. I also forgot to mention the infinite combo with Sublime Epiphany and Dual Caster Mage. Yeah, I love the goldfishing part of the deck tech. It's sometimes hard to talk, play, and look through my camera screen at the same time.
To get additional triggers for the spell copying I added lithoform engine and strionic resonator as the casualty extra cost causes a triggered ability, so the dual caster mage thing wouldn’t work, but strionic and lithoform triggered ability copying does the trick!
@@vex_mtg the way we have been playing it which I believe to be true, is that casualty is an additional cost, which when paid causes the spell copying trigger, so you just copy that trigger, I haven’t seen anyone using it, so I couldn’t make 1000% sure that that’s exactly how it works, might check the reddit tonight to see if the rules lawyers agree
Love these decktechs! Very in-depth and great reasoning as to why you include the cards 👌 could you do one for henzie the toolbox? Love to see your take on him
Great video as always. I got to test my Anhelo deck at the game this week. Definitely want a token generator or draw to you do, then be able to cast Anhelo and a spell.
I lived the dream with army of the damned. Anhelo, double vision, twinning staff and a zombie token. So 5x13 for 65 tokens it was awesome. I then ended turn and in end step my opponent rakdos charmed me each creature deals one damage to its controller. 😂🤣😂
I had 65 zombies with army, twinning staff and some other enchantments to copy the first instant and sorcery. And a card that at the beginning of my upkeep it makes a copy of a nonland perminent a.k.a twinning staff
Hey guys I really need this question answered. So if I was to cast Torment of Hailfire with value X being let's say 5 will anhelo copy the spell with the X being 5 or no ?
great video vex! Im brewing my own anhelo list at the momnt and came here for some inspiration. i would love to share my thougts and apologize for my english in advance. The commander is quiet tricky to build in my opinion and i would love to hear about your experience with your deck. I think the whole spellslinging every turn with a "talrand" on board is quiet vulnerable. admittedly there are a lot of these cards in the deck (you could even add deekah for 2 tokens a spell), but i think they are big targets on the board. More often than not there are not unlimited tokens at hand and you have to adjust for that. For this reason i think sacrifice intensive cards like village rites and deadly dispute are not optimal in this deck. I would rather play some more loot effects like catharic reuinion, pirates pillage and honor the god-Pharaoh. Some sorceries are bearable and they have great value if copied. I think mind stone could be replaced with goblin electromancer. His colorintensive cost could be handled by your manabase and he ramps more and can also be sacrificed. My favourite discovery for ths deck was humble defector, activate in your turn and sacrifice him to anhelo in response with an instant. channeld force also seems to have potential. I havent played anhelo yet so my opinion is only based on my imagination. i would appreciate to hear your thougts on my suggestions.

Unfortunately, I don't have a discord, I can barely keep up with TH-cam commends. However, I might consider doing it to be able to play games with the viewers.
You cant do that in turn 6... Anhelo gives casualty to the first Instant or sorcery of the turn, in this case you have already casted "Maestros Charm" in that turn.
Are you Talking about Village rites? He passend the turn and casted it in His Opponents turn (you have to listen carefully since He Plays Alone :D ). Thats why He plays so much Instants, they allow you to use anhelo Even More.

you can tutor for it with transmute too. im putting that n the deck now.

Also! I kept watching and had to tell that, I LOVE your idea of goldfishing the deck at the end, great job there!!
And yeah, you even mentioned that mistake later hahah that's cool!
Thanks for the support. I also forgot to mention the infinite combo with Sublime Epiphany and Dual Caster Mage. Yeah, I love the goldfishing part of the deck tech. It's sometimes hard to talk, play, and look through my camera screen at the same time.

Yeah, adding addition trigger is pretty sweet. How have those cards worked for you, I feel like I sometimes I don't have enough creatures?

Always love your videos! This is a great commander and your build looks like fun, I’m gonna use some of your recommendations in my deck.
Thanks for the support, yeah this is a super fun, not to powerful commander. Just casual fun.
Love these decktechs! Very in-depth and great reasoning as to why you include the cards 👌 could you do one for henzie the toolbox? Love to see your take on him
I might consider doing a deck tech on Henzie, however there's so many new sets and I'm a little behind already.
Great video as always. I got to test my Anhelo deck at the game this week. Definitely want a token generator or draw to you do, then be able to cast Anhelo and a spell.
Thanks, yeah, I feel like there needs to be a little more token generators in the deck.

You undervalue Onyx in this deck. She’s a house and has won me games.
Indeed the Professor is pretty fun when you copy.

Could you please build a Xander, the collector? I’m curious which route you go with him.
Unfortunately Xander is not on the list of decks. If I did do Xander, I would be a really mean deck, like Tergrid and Toxrill.
Hey mate love the deck tech! Would be really keen to see you try make a deck from the precon's second commander: Parnesse, the Subtle Brush
Hey guys I really need this question answered. So if I was to cast Torment of Hailfire with value X being let's say 5 will anhelo copy the spell with the X being 5 or no ?
That’s correct, Anhelo will copy that exact spell, including the X value.
@@vex_mtg Ty my friends who I play with told me it doesn't so I was really confused. Turns out they don't know what they're talking about lol
I also like Trophy Mage so I can tutor the Twinning Staff and then later sac her
great video vex!

Do you have like a discord that I can play commander against you
Unfortunately, I don't have a discord, I can barely keep up with TH-cam commends. However, I might consider doing it to be able to play games with the viewers.
@@vex_mtg that would be fun I would love to play against you
Try chain of smog and professor onyx these already go good with what you have in the deck
It’s as you cast so you can’t cast dual caster mage
That is correct, I figured it out much later in the video.
You cant do that in turn 6... Anhelo gives casualty to the first Instant or sorcery of the turn, in this case you have already casted "Maestros Charm" in that turn.

Do a Neera wild mage as your next deck tech please!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm still rounding up the commander I want to build decks for. I'll keep this one in mind.
@@vex_mtg ty!!
It’s called Grixis. Maestros are just a fad
Your right, it was just a fade.
Torment of hell fire does not work since when you copy it the copied spell x value is 0
