I don’t know if it’s the best or not, but it’s still pretty insane. Above 950ish km it barely loses speed and can maintain a very fast big circle, and below 800ish it cranks around similar to an f16a. And can pull 13+ Gs at almost any speed (and mine isn’t even completely spaded yet so probably better than that). And you can use both situations to your advantage.
ikr I will literally use HMD PD and put the tiny little green square over my bandit and for some reason it just immediately locks an invisible cloud of chaff thats like 75° off to my left and almost behind me, literally nowhere in my field of view
Thank you for confirming the broken radar/incorrect radar. It felt odd on my Phantom EJ yesterday grinding the F-15j, and it feels AWFUL today in the F-15j itself. Locks dropping for no reason, locking onto chaff, the missile exploding INFRONT of the traget for no reason etc etc.
The fact they made the F-16 faster than the F-15 is just criminal.... The F-15 hits Mach 1.2 on the deck where the F-16 hits 1.18 which doesn't seem like much but means the F-16 should not be catching it. at altitude the F-15 hits Mach 2.5 where the F-16 only hits Mach 2.0 so again, the F-16 should NOT be catching the F-15 at any altitude. In-game they claim the F-15 can reach Mach 2 and the F-16C only 1.7 so how is it catching up?... The F-15 is in the top 5 fastest fighter jets of all time list. The F-16 isn't even near the list. The Su-27(2.35) should be faster than the F-16 as well, but still slower than the F-15. Hell even the F-104(2.2) should beat the F-16 but in-game the F-104 can only reach Mach 1.7(claimed. I never tested) A lot of ranting to say that Gaijin just makes things up as they see fit.
The radar from F15 is not broken, every radar in game is broken right now (at least from my F4J, F14, F16C) they just lock onto chaff for some reason i hope they fix it
Yea, my mig29smt was doing the same thing today. There was something in the patch notes about changes to PD radars and how they treat notching/ cold targets. Im guessing that they fucked something up there when making that change.
I would like to correct you about the F-15J, F-15J has a AAM-3's unlike the F-15A's since it's a Japanese Import of the F-15 C/D variant. Japan has 4 Japanese AAM variants the AAM-3,AAM-4,AAM-5 and AAM-6's which im pretty much sure it MIGHT add it in the game in the future
The F-15's 1-circle ability is absolutely not to be messed with. Slapped people like mad in my F-15J who thought I was just a brick. The RB instructor gives the plane ~23-24 degrees of AOA. Which is about the same as F-16's and Su-27's, and even Gripen. But it gets that AOA VERY quickly and doesn't ease into it like some other aircraft. In sim, I could push it to 28 without damping, which is more than enough to kick ass. That and she's got the thrust to just stand on her ass or just push herself around the circle or over the top. Held 7G's continuously in vertical loops with the right stick management. Truly splendid
Yup irl it was an unarmed technology demonstrator, and unlike other prototypes in game, it was never meant to be armed or used in combat. So yeah the MTD doesn't make much sense.

Now a lot of PD radars would lock on chaff, not sure whether it is because of this change (from changelog) or not: "In all-aspect pulse-doppler track mode (MPRF waveform) abeam targets can be tracked in look-up cases. In head-on aspect pulse-doppler track mode (HPRF waveform) abeam and tail-on targets tracking depends on signal return - to - ground clutter ratio." So maybe the PD will eat chaff when look up because it does not filter (or not much ground clutter for PD HDN) anymore. I am not sure, just really wierd and this seems to be the explaination if it is not a bug. BTW this is not that good in counter notching because even my radar will be very difficult to notch when look up, the Sparrows seeker seems still being fooled sometimes.
Has anyone else experienced this in this update? With an ACM PD/ACM PD HDN track, I can be below someone and fire the perfect AIM-7M shot with excellent parameters; yet, even while maintaining lock, the missile just goes stupid, pulls up, and flies to space. It’s happened to me like at least 2 or 3 times now.
I’ve been messing around with it and found out you can do some pretty insane slow speed stuff. Messing around with kicking the rudder and maybe a bit of aileron lets you do some stuff like flying backwards and just fully ignoring AoA

" in all-aspect pulse-doppler track mode (MPRF waveform) abeam targets can be tracked in look-up cases. In head-on aspect pulse-doppler track mode (HPRF waveform) abeam and tail-on targets tracking depends on signal return - to - ground clutter ratio. This means that abeam targets can be tracked in look-up cases and tail-on targets track range strongly depends on fighter altitude: higher - larger." TL:DR now all aspect radar doesn't have a notch filter in when you are looking above the horizon, this is actually accurate to how those radars work.
Though i apreciate the intelectual honesty to complain about the unbalance between the Flankers ordnance and literally the entire rest of planes, the F-15A is quite DOA, y'all are just coping with energy retention and high speeds and conveniently forgets that Flankers have HMD, UFO R-73s and R27ERs while the eagle gets no HMD, an anemic SARH and the only good news is the same 9Ms but the 16C is quite better with them. The only hope for this plane is to get AMRAAMs, which i swear im literally going to a gambling site to bet that they won't add a single AIM-120 to an existing plane, 16C included, they'll force us to eat dirt for an exclusive cost of 420k of research. Quite dissapointed with the Eagle's introduction, i'll stick with the 16C but i'll get the 15A done with the hope for the next Eagle, however, chances are we will get another artificially outclassed plane by Gaijin's bullshitery.
at 5:21 where u talk about u getting teamkilled, usually at the end of the match people lob missiles at each other but try to time it for after the mission to actually end so no one loses anything, dude mightve just miscalculated the time it took to reach you

I’m gonna be honest I’m loving the f15 like this. I play controller and lots of Sim battles and this thing slaps. The speed is insane and the amount of turn you get at those speeds with the what feels like 1 billion chaff and flare, su 27 got nothing on this thing. Only thing I don’t like is that you can’t tell if you have a solid lock for your aim 7m and it just explodes even tho Betty says lock, always 50/50. That’s in my opinion the only problem
Of course the Russian jet will be the better jet it’s 10 years newer than the F 15 guess because Russian didn’t have any good jets from the same time. And they know it that’s why they have to put the flanker in the game. No fox hound no fox bat none of the Jets that actually were around at the time always Russian bias as hell. The F 15. Was released in 1972. The SU 27 was released in 1985. Russia completely skipped a whole entire generation of the Jets in this game. That sucks for the players and it sucks because of game balancing.
I had the sheer luck that the F15s is after the f4e phantom, I have the talisman on it and in SIM it's just a RP cash cow. Just hit bases with 250+ mighty mouses Ultra easy
It looks pretty fun overall and I hope you also do have a fun time with it in the absolute mess of a meta this patch is right now, hopefully my Baz grind won't be too problematic. Just a bit of a shame the Su-27 blows it out of the water with both quality and quantity missilewise and the Mirage 4000 basically being king of the castle for dogfighting, more symmetry on both sides would have been more fun to play with.
Assymetry is amazing, what we're missing is balance. But its also hard to combine balance with historical accuracy, so I give them that they don't have an easy job by any means.. But a balanced top tier surely would be a wet dream.. And will likely remain so.
I don't think theres anything to do to the flanker to balance it without gimping it, the F15 is still pretty powerful. The F15 vs Su27 balance is a lot better than the F14 vs MLD we have last year
Eyyyy Eagle that ought to be fun. What's the Thrust to weight ratio of the Eagle by the way? As the Eurofighter's is advertised as being in excess of 1.2:1 so the Eagles' must be insane if it has one higher than the EF.

Matches have been one sided for a long time. Usually there's a lot of newbies on one side and experienced players on the other. Gaijin should iron teams out a bit on the matchmaker to ensure an even distribution of lower and higher leveled players. I know the level isn't everything, but it would definitely help a bit. There is no argument for having a match with 14 people below level 30 and a couple 100s against a team full of 80+ players...
You're so wrong 500-800 kph is the ideal dogfighting speed range. This thing will let you sit at 500 kph pulling 7 g's and rating at 25 deg/s or better.

Bit late to this video but hey Lee, im the person who bug reported the radar to be the PSP radar. I have heard nothing. My report is sitting on Acknowledged. There's another radar report which is also in limbo. I'm kinda mad cause everytime I go look at the F-15 weapons delivery manual, i find something new wrong with the radar. It's so horribly modeled I'm just about done.

It's sustained turn rate is over performing at min fuel, 3500 pounds of fuel the Eagle should be sustaining 19⁰ but atm its sustaining 25.7⁰, instantaneous is a little over performing but it's not as bad as sustained.
Right now top tier premium jets are unplayable, how the hell are we getting 1.0 uptiers, we cant do anything, why the hell they choose 12.3 to the new planes wtf

The F-14 should also have a higher top speed, as should the F-4 and all the MiG-21s should have theirs lowered. These stats really need to be fixed
I like that the F15 has a 19km ACM mode, because the 9km of the F16 sometimes suck
The 6km of the F14 is kinda bad but the f15 is a nice touch to the U.S tree.

Yeah I hadn't tried anything else and that had happened before on release with bugged radars, so I didn't think to check lol.

Well, when you look below the horizon the notch filter is back on meaning that the enemy has an easier time notching you. It's a tradeoff really.

I was playing the 29SMT and my HMD PD was also locking onto chaff that was outside of the box IDK why??
i think that with a propper radar for the F15 the sparrow will become way more reliable at mid ranges. since it has no shot against the R27 at bvr.
All it needs is the Aim-7Ps and it would be great.
Gaijin would probably just make it a copy paste AIM-7M (which they already made as a copy paste 7F) or Skyflash ST

Bit late to this video but hey Lee, im the person who bug reported the radar to be the PSP radar. I have heard nothing. My report is sitting on Acknowledged. There's another radar report which is also in limbo. I'm kinda mad cause everytime I go look at the F-15 weapons delivery manual, i find something new wrong with the radar. It's so horribly modeled I'm just about done.

shouldn't the F-15C have TWS radar mode? So at least in that context the radar would be different... but I think even the F-15A had TWS later on...

If i were you, I'd go for whatever will have the first nerf. Thing is idk which plane will get that since i haven't kept up since the update came out

It's sustained turn rate is over performing at min fuel, 3500 pounds of fuel the Eagle should be sustaining 19⁰ but atm its sustaining 25.7⁰, instantaneous is a little over performing but it's not as bad as sustained.
Who cares. R27ER real life hit percentage was 9% while AIM 7 was 68% but yet the r27Er is by far the best radar missile in game.

If it's the slowest, but it's pretty slow. And it's because of the engine thrust curves
