    Hey Jared, that’s the coolest little gas can I’ve seen. I’ll bet it’s older that you are. I’ll say it now. There was no doubt in my mind that it wouldn’t fire off. I’ve watched you to long and seen to much to doubt your mechanical abilities. Good job and God bless.

      I really do cherish that lil old gas can. He'd write his name, address, ss#, date of purchase and price paid on almost everything he ever bought. It's dated 1953, 30+yrs older than me. I looked up his old address on Google it was an abandoned one room shack in SC pretty wild to see. Ohh the stories he use to tell me...thanks for watching buddy!

    There is a guy on TH-cam, called Mags and Tillotson with a black 1968 XLCH. He added a button kit to bottom of Tillotson to get gas into engine quicker. It seems like something good.

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'll have to check him out. I've heard of people adding a "tillotson tickler" they call that. Since this video the initial start up its actually fired up real easy.

    1969...the last year of the real XLCHs....magneto ignition says so!! Don't let anybody tell you that the magneto is finniky and unreliable. Hogwash! When set up right with good quality innards they are MORE reliable than the battery/coil ignition. And the points and plugs last longer than the battery/coil ignition. Any 60s XLCH (magneto bike) is the most bitchen bike ever made. Love the bike and your channel.

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with you, for something to sit 10+ years and easily fire up with no battery needed is amazing. I have 2 1968 XLCH's magneto fired aswell. Grown to really like the earlier Sportsters more, no calipers or mastercylinders to rebuild after they sit. Drums don't stop like disc but alot easier to maintain. Thanks for watching!

      @@jfrost77hd well everybody was going to the S&S carburetor back in the late seventies.. I just couldn't get used to the roll on throttle this is when they didn't have an accelerator pump. So I went with an su carburetor and that was a pretty nice car but I definitely like the Bendix.. I'll probably pull the S&S off of my shovelhead and put a Bendix once I find one for a decent price
