I make my own paints with pigments and linseed, not sure what really differentiates ink from paint aside from viscosity. I primarily work with encaustics but use a brayer just as often.
Thankyou, I appreciate it. I haven't tried them for monotypes yet but do use them for linoprinting and relief printmaking using different surfaces like vinyl and rubber and they work well.
I have a question, is the final print smudge proof? I've used speedball water based lino ink and if I touch a print with somewhat wet hands the ink activates instantly. I've tried using fixative sprays but even that doesn't work :( does the same happen with schmincke inks?
Hi, sorry for the slow reply, I didn’t see your message! Yes it’s smudge proof when dry, but you can’t get it wet again with water/wet hands as it will damage the print and paper. Schmincke inks are touch dry in 15-20 mins normally for me. You can layer on ink in the normal way with a printing press or barren. Schmincke inks are water based. Hope that helps.
That owl crest is pretty sweet!
It’s a good logo 😊

English is not my first language so I'm sorry if I worded things a little bit weird
