    I needed this! Yesterday, I didn't stay up after my husband left for work, and instead fell back asleep. My boys woke me up, the animals got fed late, no work was finished before breakfast...and I woke up feeling rushed and unprepared. This morning, things were completely different. I went to bed earlier last night, and since my husband has left for work, the animals have been fed, chickens let out, tea has been made, bathroom tidied up, laundry gathered, and I'm sitting down now to have my Bible reading. Thank you for this video. I need content like this to encourage me to live a Biblical life, and to rise above.

      This is a beautiful example of the differences between sleeping in and rising early. I always felt the same way if I got up when my children did. 😊

    I've been on a journey to recover homemaking the last few years. It really hit me when I realized that my struggle with rising before versus with my household is in part due to my own chronic fatigue, but also in part to remembering my childhood. I have wonderful Christian parents, who suffer from severe chronic illnesses. For almost my entire childhood, my mother was unable to rise prior to early afternoon, and I was quite lonely the first half of the day since my father was at work and I was an only child, homeschooling during middle school. I think that realizing that this "pattern" from my childhood (placing no blame on my mother, for her illnesses are fully to blame) will help me be more diligent with rising early, instead of being sporadic like I have been the last few years with young children. Thank you for your video and your witness, I praise the Lord for you!

    We must remember that the Bible is a spiritual book, and we must look at these things with spiritual eyes also not just the flesh. We can definitely learn how to be godly women but Jesus Christ works with everyone according to their heart and His time. Just know there is no condemnation in Christ.

    I enjoy getting up early. I keep my phone downstairs in my office, never in my room, just personal preference. I do have an alarm clock, but I don't use it. This morning I was up at 6:30, excited for some quiet reading time. My first waking child wasn't up until 8 am. and I was very ready at that time. I agree with planning the night before, I always clean my kitchen, dining room and living room, so that I'll have a peaceful quiet place to enjoy with my book, bible, journal and coffee. Another thing that helps is that I set my coffee pot on a timer, so I can smell it or hear the chiming of freshly brewed coffee, I can't resist! Great video and reminders for us. Thank you!

    I've been talking to God more. Asking him to help me serve him and my family better, quickly started waking up at 6am (an hour before the alarm, and this time of year in Canada, it's dark still.) the first two days I was annoyed at myself for waking up so early, then I remembered, or he put it in my heart that he was just doing what I asked, and here I was resisting 😂 so I've been trying to get up when I wake up. He's so forgiving and good. He wants us to succeed. God Bless.

    Thank you sweet Tabitha . I’ve been struggling with this lately . When my kids were young I always jumped up very early . Now as an empty nester , it’s quite easy to fall into staying in bed a little longer . But nothing goes as beautifully and as peacefully when I do! I’m so much happier arising and being productive in my home ! I truly needed this message to remind me that I may not have little people or teenagers anymore , a lot less laundry etc , but I still have the same chores in my home! Even without littles, it still takes most of my day. This message resonates with all mommas , in all the stages God designed for us ! Have a wonderful day Tabitha!

    I’m a hardworking housewife who doesn’t have a problem with getting my work done, but the verse about rising early could be about planning and using time wisely more than just getting up early. I am a night owl and do my planning for the next day before I go to bed. The Proverbs 31 woman makes good use of her time and is productive, as am I. If it works better for someone to get up early to do that, then, great, go for it! But it doesn’t makes a woman more or less godly if she’s getting up really early in the morning. We serve Him with our hearts and with our work. He wants us to not be lazy, but getting up really early doesn’t mean everyone else is lazy. There are a lot of moms saying that we have to get up at 5 AM to jumpstart our day and be productive, but God is more concerned with our hearts than the time of day we wake up.

    • @ThisMamasFaith
      @ThisMamasFaith  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s very clear rising early is what God wants for us. I’m sure He is very happy with you making good use of your time and being productive

    • @kalindakelly3417

      Condemnation should never be a part of our Christian walk. Each household is different. If we took this scripture and did not apply godly wisdom to it, it could be used as a bludgeoning tool. At times, during exhaustion, a wife needs to take a season to rest. Housework is not the be all and end all of what she is. Sometimes it will fall by the wayside as we recouperate and heal. Rising early is not a commandment. It is an admonition to take care of your household with love and efficiency. We have to be careful to rightly divide the Word.

      It’s funny because God created the Earth to the evening and the morning so when the sun goes down that’s a new day. The Bible says to rise while it is yet dark. I think it’s based off personal preference as long as you’re taking care of your bodily temple and getting good sleep either way is blessed. I am an early riser but when I was breastfeeding a newborn I did it all at night. Both were rising while it is “early” the moment the sun sets its a new day and that’s the earliest part of the day Gods clock is the sun.

I really don’t think it is practical for me to wake up before them right now and it is such a hard start to the day. I think to counteract it I need to do more set up in the evening. I am reading through Psalms in my morning devotions and it is so interesting to me how many times David says, “early will I seek Thee” and other things to that effect. This morning as I was reading chapter 63, it speaks of seeking Him early then the chapter proceeds to say, “When I remember thee upon my bed, And meditate on thee in the night watches.” (Psalm‬ ‭63‬:‭6‬) I definitely feel more rested spending the final moments of the day in prayer or contemplation rather than playing on my phone to get sleepy. It e can learn so much if we open our eyes! Thanks for the video 😊

    It doesn't matter if you get up at 5 and go to bed at 9 or get up at 8 and go to bed at 12. It's the same amount of time and you can get the same amount of work done . This is all a matter of good time management and getting all our chores done. My kids when they were little all slept in with me and stayed up later with me. When school years came and went we got up earlier. Now that they are grown I rise later and go to bed later. You either have good work habits or you don't, period. Time of day doesn't mean much when we have lights to use.

    • @hope.s9947
      @hope.s9947 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're absolutely right, time doesn't matter. Work ethic is a very big part of it. Why not follow the example laid out in the Bible then?

    • @vanguardiris3232
      @vanguardiris3232 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I agree in theory, but there's an mindset element to it too. I was always taught that an early riser is a hard worker, and that an early sleep is a wholesome one. If I wake up feeling like a hard worker with a rested, wholesome body, I will have a better and more productive day than if I feel like a lazy slob. I could work on changing my mindset (and I certainly don't judge others as harshly) but it is easier for me to just get up a bit earlier

    • @saversavvy2670
      @saversavvy2670 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I never said that you shouldn't get up early if you want to. Just saying that take for example nurses that work 7 pm to 7 and sleep all day are not lazy and a stay at home mom that gets all her work done even if she would sleep in is not lazy.

    • @hope.s9947
      @hope.s9947 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@saversavvy2670 definitely. My husband gets home from work late and doesn't sleep until midnight or later, so obviously there are women out there doing the same. I think in biblical times there were probably less women doing night shifts and late sleeping was probably more associated with slacking of duties. For those like myself that can, getting up earlier and getting ready for the day, praying and maybe starting a task or two without the kids, it really does get the day centered. 😀

    • @annewithane7876
      @annewithane7876 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In theory I agree, but most of the people I know who get up early are way more productive. So I think waking up early is the best idea unless there's a good reason not to. It's also better for your circadian rhythm. Artificial lighting doesn't react with your body the same way (that's part of why people get seasonal depression, or depression if they work nights.)
      For me, I wake up moderately early, but my limiting factor is that my husband is a bit of a night owl, so when I wake up too early we never see each other 😂

    Thank your for this wonderful message! I hope you dont mind me suggesting to you to not wash fresh eggs before storing them. Rather just brush off any dirt. Washing the eggs removes the very important layer that protects the eggs and makes them stay fresh up to 4 weeks. Hope this helps anyone :-)

      I only wash my duck eggs. :) They are filthy. Chicken eggs stay on the counter unwashed

    Hello Tabitha! I purchased my first bible yesterday, and I'm a bit lost. Where would you recommend a beginner start with reading and studying the bible?

      It was suggested to me when I was a young Christian to read the book of John first. Then move on to the book of Acts. Then read 1 John, 2 John and then 3 John. I hope this helps. God bless!

      The Bible tells us that God will give understanding to those who are saved. The first step is to be sure you are saved by His grace; which happens when you acknowledge that you are a sinner, that God sent His son Jesus to live a sinless life and die for our sins, that Jesus died and was buried in the tomb but He didn't stay dead. He dropped our sins off in hell and rose again to defeat death and make our way to Heaven possible. If you believe these things and believe God can save you, then you ask Him to forgive you of your sins and save your soul!
      If you are saved, then start your Bible reading with prayer. Pray that God will forgive any sins you've committed since you spoke with Him last and pray that He would give you understanding. Make sure you believe He will answer when you're praying and also don't expect to understand heavy and deep things. The Bible says as sincere babes desiring the milk of the Word. You have to start with the milk, the easy and basic things before you can move on to harder things. Trust that God will direct you and give you understanding.
      Also, make sure you're in a good church that preaches God's word for you to learn and gain understanding, every time they have a service. God uses pastors to teach us and we need to make sure they're preaching the truth, not just telling us feel good things. 💜
