- The Chicago Bears in 2018 were one piece away from being a complete contender, and they found that piece when trading for future hall of fame EDGE Khalil Mack from the Oakland (Las Vegas) Raiders.
The Bears could do the exact same thing this upcoming season that would land them a premier EDGE for years to come to pair with Montez Sweat and give the Bears one of the best defensive fronts in football; Michah Parsons
According to various reports, Parsons will hold out of Cowboys training camp due to not getting a contract. This isn't a shock as the 25 y/o is one of, if not the best, EDGE in the NFL over the last 3 seasons and shows no signs of slowing down. He is looking to become the highest paid EDGE in NFL history, and could do the in a sign-and-trade with Chicago.
Ryan Poles says he is looking to improve this team before camp, and this trade could very well do that.

A few rookie contracts would actually be CHEAPER than extending a veteran who will undoubtedly demand a hefty payday after this coming yr. On top of that there are MULTIPLE veterans who will look to get paid after this yr. Building through the draft with cheap rookie contracts allows enough money to extend veterans. Thus, allowing for a longevity of success rather than having to scramble to restructure/backload contracts to keep the nucleus intact. Thats a headache no GM wants to navigate.
We should definitely get Parsons. And Myles Garrett. And Superman.

You cant afford to pay parsons and sweat for more than a year or two without having to dismantle the rest of the team. Once you have to pay caleb 50 plus mil and you have 150 mil for 3 players. You better hope you are able to draft over your head at that point.
