I mean, keeping your hands down doesn't mean your defense is bad, it's just another style of fighting, in my case my hands were down and that increased my dodge and mobility ability. I'm just saying that if a student of yours insists a lot on keeping his hands down, let him be and let him flow with his own style, it's not good to limit the students so much. Take Ali for example, a boxer who kept his hands down almost all the time and was one of the best boxers in history, in the past they also tried to make them put their hands up and practice more book boxing, but luckily they he resisted that until another coach arrived who let him flow with his style and look at the reward
I completely agree. After watching just a few seconds of this I had determined that these people were trained more recently or buy instructors who trained more easily because this is what sparring has become and it's not an improvement. Taekwondo becoming an Olympic sport was certainly not good for the free fighting or the actual self-defense part and karate soon becoming Olympic also will do the same to that are form. The longer almost horse-riding stance with the hands down is all-too-common and has been for a but it's not traditional Korean fighting or TKD. Most styles of karate also do not have their hands down like this. These two probably compete and a lot of competitions and that's where they get it. Traditional TKD or karate would have the guard up the whole time and once they moved in they would do several and then probably quickly follow it up with a leg sweep to drop the opponent, but they have taken so much out of tournaments so you have to fight by the rules of the tournament.

I need to give credit to both for their technique, but Karate definitely came on top quite easily. I personally have trained both, currently only training in Karate. (2nd Degree in TKD and 1st Dan in Karate). From my own experience I've noticed that even in general sparring, Karate is much more useful, though there are elements from TKD that made learning Karate easier and made sparring easier (I'm of course talking about full contact). Regardless, both did really well.

Absolutely Nice!. 1. Never Spar With Your Shoes On A Tiled Surface.,If You Ever Find Yourself With Your Shoes On A Tiled Surface You Have Just A Single Motive "Knockout"! 2. Both Mobility Is Good., Never Forget Your Footworks , It's A Way To Keep Your Opponent Off His Own Feet While Your Plans Are Intact To Score A Point, Even If You Don't Have An Active Plan, Switching Both Your Legs Is Automatically A Confusion For Your Opponent., Leaving Him/Her To Act Without Caution (In Most Cases). 3. Long Range Kicks Are Beneficial Not Fancy Kicks , When You Spar An Opponent With A Different Form. e.g Axe Kick , Side Kicks , Push Kick. 4.. Always Keep Your Guards Up! Remember You Won't Be Sparring Like That In A Street Fight, Cases Of Weapons Might Occur. Although Good Work All The Time! 💯🥋♥️
I teach Shorin ryu Karate (5th dan) and in my tournament days fought many TKD fighters. The karate fighter allowed the TKD fighter to keep him at a distance, giving TKD an advantage. Karate should have closed and stayed close in to cancel out the TKD's kicking skills. And keep your damn hands up, both of you.
Point of correction! An art cannot fight another art, it's individual fighting, and how good you are, is determined by your dedication to training. Train hard in your specific art, and you will be Lethal weapon. Otherwise, keep up good work, Osu!
No, an art can fight another. Because martial art is fighting (self defence). Is just you cant compare two martial arts, which is better. They both have unique techniques that are better for fighting, and it depends on how u practice too. No such thing as something based on fighting cannot fight another, just that they are bettee in different way. As someone who practice both, karate 7 yrs and tkd 1year+. Personally i still think karate is better in terms of self defence, taekwondo is too soft and minimal usage of hands. But if u include the speed and variety of kicks from tkd, it would be better😃

I do respect all confirmed effective fighting styles, I personaly admire tae kwon do, took on sparring some karatekas and boxers as well... I still on Kick boxing and sometines we mix with muay thai... Martial arts is life...
Say I train in both martial arts and Karate I respect both just because its Not a Black Belt that makes a martial arts or Karate or winning a fake golden plastic belt from MMA it’s the person be the Belt that makes a difference and I never will ever Disrespect or insult any other Martial arts or Karate or any other martial arts out there because I honor all the fallen martial artists that once were the martial arts uniform like Bruce Lee and Jason David Frank RIP so when I put on my uniform, I’m honoring and respecting the ones that once were the uniform and not about the belt but it’s about the hard work and dedication. They put into it and not act immature when you win a piece of garbage like a plastic golden belt, that means nothing worth the honor and beating the other person facing. How’s that honor and respect I have seen that disrespect others that shouldn’t even get a belt, but kicking the butt out the door.

I agree with all your comments but it's always good to master different techniques like I have mastered four different styles and I combine them all when I'm in a fight I don't go around looking for trouble but when trouble comes to me I never lost a fight or never got hit does the advantage of learning different styles it's up to you how you use them and how you mix it up always watch your opponent different techniques you know which of the techniques you will have to use to defeat your opponent you will become better the most fighters when you put your heart and mind into it I'm 50 years old and till this day I never lost a street fight no matter how big or small they are I'm only 180 lb science does not matter unlike Michael Jai White says that it does it depends how you use your skills and you can defeat any opponent no matter what weight class or size just a word of advice from my experiences beautiful sparring session
Regardless, both did really well.
well it all really comes down to skill
This was an awesome display of the differences between these two styles!
Everyone's gangsta until May Thai Arrives
FACTS
I do tai jutsu so I'm good
Muay Thai’s elite, but it’s stance is too upright to be predominantly used in the UFC, although a lot of its techniques like checking kicks, low kick and roundhouse are extremely useful.
😅
The karateka looked like he was just hitting and kicking with instinct, theyre mostly just forced in there without an actual plan...
How can you plan against an attack, do you know what your opponent will do in advance?
I teach Shorin ryu Karate (5th dan) and in my tournament days fought many TKD fighters. The karate fighter allowed the TKD fighter to keep him at a distance, giving TKD an advantage. Karate should have closed and stayed close in to cancel out the TKD's kicking skills. And keep your damn hands up, both of you.

You are pretty good, guys!!! Awesome to watch 2 amazing figthers!
All martial arts are useful for life👍👍
For close and long range combat i would say karate , but taekwondo has some bad ass kicks which could lead to an easy ko if done properly
Can someone please tell me the best to do
Cus i wanna learn one among them to defend my self (including macial arts) as well
Tkd guy isn't very experienced but he's good, karate guy had more experience and good counter attack
Ngl the Tkd guy only used one variation of the kick
Great job arthur. I finally got ninja sogi's value in a real situation. God bless 🇧🇷
@@Alvin_0523 it's individual fighting not art
@@daniellugz8528 what about individual drawing not art?
@@Alvin_0523 what I mean by individual, is by training your specific art with dedication and hard work, and fighting will be easy.
@@daniellugz8528 of course it is, but they are still martial arts. Its like you are telling me you cant compare shotgun and rifle. Yes you fking can, their purpose is to kill.
Where can I go learn karate and taekwondo in Kikuyu
Not bad not good they need to start taking it more a martial art it's all about trying to land a blow to your opponent you have to be more serious bit more serious the best in karate and taekwondo 💪🙂👍
when your opponent is too close, try using your hand for defense and attack during close range fight especially taekwondo, because taekwondo can often use hand not only legs.
I'm also taekwondo, I don't know if this against the rule. I really love your sparing guys.💖💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍😆😆😆

i was a karate student now trying to perfect my skills alone

The karate guy can do better, he's more defensive than offensive. He should be more aggressive and make use of punches.
Taekwondo beats karate 😁

But karate win😁
Shotokan is my life
The play backs were cool. Thanks 😎
Arthur, you need to counterattack, every time he finishes his kick, enter yours, Karateka's defense is bad. But it was a good fight. Congratulations.
Hey guys, these two incredible martial arts are strong and fast, I do taekwondo, I'm not going to say that taekwondo is stronger than karate, it depends on the practitioner, some are fast, others are stronger, it depends, but it's incredible to see these two martial arts fight each other 👏🏻

You're not even using hands. Here's a combination for you jab sweep with the front leg and reverse punch and following up with a roundhouse or front kick
I give karate the edge in this friendly sparring session.
Taekwondo sering gunakan dwi chagi. Sesekali doliyo chagi. Menarik. Terlihat jelas gaya sparing/ komite masing - masing ...
