    I like both of those. I appreciate they are making both high end and mid level versions on both of them. I'll definitely be picking them up.

    Lionsteel is perpetuating the stereotype of Italian elegant and classy design. I'm looking forward to the release of the myto in micarta.

    I really like the knives they have planned. Especially because they have both high end and mid level. The materials are great as well. Be fun when they ship.

    Both great looking knives. Lionsteel puts out some really great looking quality knives. Probably my favorite of the Italian knife makers.

    Nice looking knife. Now if they would just learn to do a proper HT on M390, I might actually consider buying one. Maybe I'm just being overly picky, but if I have to pay a premium for M390 steel, then I expect it to hold it's edge longer than a budget steel.

    It appears most companies have problems heat treating M390. My suggestion is too use a steel such as S30V, S35VN, CPM 154 or CTS-xhp. where a proper heat treat is done. The only companies I trust for good heat treat on M390 type steels Is Spyderco and TRM for a good heast treat.
    I have watched many of the Lionsteel knives being rockwell tested and cutting tests, and their heat treat has be very poor.
    Lionsteel has a preuim price for their knives but has not delivered reasonable performance on their M390 blades and for the time being I will not be purchasing any more of their products.

    • @timbo4374
      @timbo4374 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I %100 agree with you. Lionsteel and the entire MKM complex of knife makers have some beautiful designs with great fit n finish, but they seem to be obsessed with making the majority of their knives with M390. That would be fine if they bothered to learn how to heat treat it. Unfortunately, they apparently think that doing a proper HT is not important, and we should pay a premium for the steel anyway even though it performs no better than a budget steel because of the crappy heat treat they do.

    Why is the flipper on the myto removable lol.

    • @ninjaneil902
      @ninjaneil902 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think for some neighboring countries that have stricter knife laws. Like if they were traveling from one country to another, they can take out the flipper.

    • @giannispapadopoulos6603
      @giannispapadopoulos6603 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cause its considered a switch blade and its a no no in Europe

    • @timbo4374
      @timbo4374 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many European countries have knife laws which ban one hand opening knives, which means a flipper is illegal to carry. Removing the flipper tab makes it a 2 hand opener, which then becomes legal to carry in most places, as long as locking blades are ok to carry there. That means having the ability to remove the flipper tab allows them to market it to more countries.

      Neither knife has a liner lock. Myto has a "show" side and the opposite incorporates the frame lock. All frame lock knives appear this way.
