Don’t get me wrong, the line from Wallis about watching out for family was great...but I feel the three in the marriage line from Anne was completely missed by so many people. It was a great reference and piece of foreshadowing.
I cannot wait for Season 4. With Thatcher and Princess Diana it is sure to be a great season.
I’m just now catching on to that because it wasn’t Charles Camilla and Camilla‘s husband in the marriage it was Charles Camilla and Diana and she wasn’t prepared for it to be three people in her marriage
I'm disappointed they didn't cover Princess Anne's attempted kidnapping. It doesn't get more Hollywood than that!

How many times must this be said. The kidnapping attempt happened after the jubilee celebrations, of which the last episode ended. They will probably show it in the next season. If they don't too, then they don't.

Probably wadnt covered because the show centers mostly on the queen and those in direct line of the Crown. Anne is a tertiary character in that regard.
They skipped the Bubbikins episode. It was one of my favourites. ☹️

One of my favorite things is discovering the connections actors share between films and characters. Just found out Both Olivia Coleman and Helena Bonham Carter have played The Queen Mother ( The King’s Speech and Hyde Park on Hudson) and here they are now playing her daughters. They also both played Madame Thénardier in versions of Les Misérables. Love discovering stuff like this.
And the actor who plays Prince Charles was in the same version of Les Miserables as Olivia Coleman. He was Marius Pontmercy.
The old cast was so much better than this one, I’m sorry.

Episode 7 “Moondust” was my favorite. It was very melancholic & emotional, I actually felt sorry for Prince Phillip. The religious part was very heartwarming tho, i liked the happy ending to it. The script in this show is AMAZING! Everything about this show is phenomenal ✨

Hello, everyone! I have to say that I miss the old cast so much that it feels like a totally different show to me now. There was no need to replace the actors. Adequate make-up would add them 10 years easily, and the audience would not get so confused.
The soundtrack that plays when Prince Edward lays dead on his bed (Episode 8) is LIFE!!!

The participation of Sir Charles Dance has turned this already good series into an absolute exquisite delight on his scenes! Everything Sir Charles Dance touches turns Gold! Artistically speaking, obviously! Intelligent move on Netflix part to work with The BEST actors available!
Derek Jacobi and Geraldine Chaplin were the true highlights of Season 3! Their portrayals of Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson just broke my heart!

That’s dramatic but it didn’t fit the main theme of the Crown, which is the conflicts between traditional value and modern world.

Of course, one cannot know what any of the royals are, or were, really like. One must bear in mind that this series is NOT a documentary, it is an emotionally manipulative drama. The dramatic theme woven throughout is that the royals are ALL psychologically damaged persons to one degree or another, their personalities stunted and twisted like trees in a harsh, windy landscape. This is particularly obvious in regards to Elizabeth and Philip, who are portrayed as suffering a tragic misapprehension that emotional constipation equals strength of character.

incredible - s3 definitely the weakest but still very good and s4 looks set to be the best yet!
Seriously go. In my opinion, I wasn't as big a fan of S3 (perhaps its just me but it turned a bit soap opera for my liking) but that being said they are all of fantastic quality.

I don't understand this whole thing with Stephen Ward and Prince Philip. Did Ward photograph Prince Philip in an uncompromising manner, i.e., nude or something? Else, why would any revealing of those "portraits," or whatever, cause such potential harm? Was there some compelling Bisexual bent involving Prince Philip and these hidden parties? Does anyone/did anyone from any era of Elizabeth II Regina's current reign have definitive answers regarding these mysteries? Very frustrating to be left dangling without any answers.

I love the portrayal of Anne's kindness and respect for her grandmother, Alice. If even a fraction of this is true, I will still admire her for this.

Funnily: Disappointing, Actresses & actors are replaced and Queen & Princess Margret's eye colour changed.
Couldn't understand why they don't cast Olivia Colman in Season 5&6 as the queen. She's done an excellent job. With a little bit of make-up, I'm sure she would be fine playing the Queen in her 60s
Well she is playing the Queen in her 60s by the end of s4 ie. 1990 6th season will end in lmid-laye 2000's so the Queen then would be approaching her 80s . Even for as great an actor as Olivia it would seem a bit stretched and not believable for a mid 40s actor to play an 80 something. That too for the entire final 10 eps

Um, why did they switch actresses? In 1964 these women were 34 and 38, so they could've hired make-up artist from "This is Us".

I don't think he's charming at all in the first 2 seasons. Something about the actor's face contributes to the character's moodiness and unkind attitude.

That pink outfit in the season finale was the fugliest costume of the season. They did not do a good job of recreating the original look. It looked great on Queen IRL, but the replica just looked like an unflattering night gown on Olivia Colman and the dangling pink flowers were comical.
The second ugliest was the gold hat from Charles' investiture. Looked good on the real queen and awful on Colman.

Queen Elizabeth has BLUE EYES. Olivia Colman has brown eyes and a turned-up not and doesn’t even remotely resemble QEII. She looks more like Mary Poppins or a Cornish housewife. Strains a little too hard at my willing suspension of disbelief.
