Canta de todo!!! Soprano absoluto... aunque parece fatigada, su voz no desmerece en calidad ( gran técnica) en comparación con muchas sopranos actuales que parecen gallinas y gatitos cantando... además Caballe canta aquí a plena voz con 50 años, una Diosa, portento, y que gran coloratura!!!
On sait que Caballé a abordé Semiramis en 1980, après s'être lancée dans Turandot, Gioconda, La Forza, tout un répertoire lourd qui a grossi la voix en lui ôtant une partie de sa souplesse et de son moelleux. Cependant, même si tout cela se ressent, le souffle, la vocalisation, et la beauté du timbre- mis à part des aigus forte plus stridents qu'autrefois- et le style sont pour moi d'une belle école belcantiste. Moins de flamme qu'à Aix dans la ferveur de la création, moins de contrôle qu'à Bruxelles en 1984 où le chef Cambrelaing faisait merveille, mais une belle soirée dans le bel automne de Caballé
@@SuperPaoloathank goodness you said it and not me. Caballe in the 60's was quite good but she did not take care of her instrument. Not every doughnut or drive-thru must be eaten or visited. I mean it - look at her then and now. Weight fluctuates but she doubled and continued to add as the years marched on. That is not caring for your instrument

Interestingly, she is closer to what I imagine Colbran the original Semiramide (also Spanish) was like in the role rather than the grand coloraturas like Sutherland and Anderson. I wonder why Callas never attempted this role - it would have been perfect for her in her prime.
@@edgardo8459 Caballe sings this much more faithfully to the actual score which was written for Colbran to help cover up her voice which was in serious decline. The original score only goes up to A5, whereas Sutherland, Anderson and others added a High E natural into the score as well as other high interpolations and cadenzas.
