Hey, thank you for all movies you done for one of My beloved series that I was grown-up on. Solid Snake is My hero, always was, this universe of MGS is so close to My heart. But Kojima himself was tired of MGS since Metal Gear. He didn't even want to make Metal Gear 2...not saying Metal Gear Solid... He was planned to be done with and don't have a plans for MGS 2 and on. Meaby he didn't want fans to been fire up of dream about remake or next chapter in MGS series? Snake story is done with amazing MGS 4. MGS games amd franchise is done with MGS 4 (PW & V was forced so much that Kojima was not even have a proper great story for them, like we can see as results). This is great games but turns out is not for Kojima to bring full potential on the series. Meaby in a future, far distance away, there is gonna be a young talent that can take this masterpiece and reborn a legend with new existed way. Problem with Metal Gear Solid games are that it was planned to be one game, original Metal Gear... So ather chapter was forced so much... In hurry it was deliver forced story and characters... You can see that, even if it's great. Stories in Final Fantasy games or Uncharted, The Last Of Us, The Elder Of Scrolls have become less chaotic. MGS universe is great but written on the knee in train on the way to job... You can see by MGS V that Kojima bring new formula he then explore more in Death Stranding and put it on MGS V, why? He was always dream about game like that and he didn't want to put emotions amd energy to bring more story on MGS Universe. Kojima is a sad old guy that wanted to be a filmmaker but stuck in gaming business. Cuz alot of money, success and carrier MGS bring him. But he never loved MGS universe... MGS is a unwanted "child" that "father" don't love and try it to push away... But MGS was loved by the world... So "father" keep "nursing" to the first occasion he can runaway. This runaway was start it to win with Hideo after MGS 4...forced by fans end of Solid Snake story. It was not sold so well so Konami was see it. That was Kojima chance to "abort a ship" and he did it. Kojima put his film ideas on action, scenes, camera moves and ideas for stories, emotions on MGS that's why MGS is great. But Kojima never put it a heart on that project after original MG. Imagine what this game can be in the future if some creator will actually love it? Hideo Kojima is a great filmmaker that never get there. He stuck in gaming business and you can see that in Death Stranding... Something that will be a great film but end up to be boring as fk game that is simulator of walking. At Konami they was watch Kojima hands so game can be good and full of action, fresh and all. Games are not Kojima world... Sad story of a great emotional man. Sony was have a great hopes with Hideo but now they don't care about his new project. They can count, this is business. Death Stranding didn't bring much money for the company so is risky to put a money on the table for Kojima 2 time. Now he got chance at Microsoft. We will see what will happen for that :) At the end of My "list" look at MGS movie... Story of MGS is so chaotic that is so hard to deliver by filmmakers. I think that only Kojima can deliver MGS film. End of 2021 and I'm finally putting emotions for new thinks of this series away. 2008 was truly THE END. Then I play it MGO 2 till 2012 when I was got around 7500+ hours in it :P Since 2012 when servers was turn off I miss it this universe so much... Now after all this years I'm letting go guys. No more waiting amd feel pain or saddens. Time to live on and put focus and energy on ather thinks. True that MGS is a universe that was the very best experience on entertainment I got on My entire life till this day. But there is so many cool thinks in life, MGS is unwanted... If we want to get technical solid Snake was already in metal gear solid 5 as a playable character. You had to play metal gear solid 5 ground zeroes and get the mission that had all the references to metal gear solid one. Then you had to complete the quiz and not get a single answer wrong. Once you did this you would unlock solid Snake for ground zeros and then you could upload all your games information. After that all you had to do was put in metal gear solid phantom pain into your system if you were using the disc. Then all you would do is download your data from metal gear solid 5 ground zeros onto metal gear solid 5 the phantom pain. Once this was done then solid Snake was playable. This could also be done for a gray fox as well.
Before this game came out, I really wanted the ending of MGS5 to be replaying the original MG remade with David voicing snake as a surprise for the fans. Instead we got voice bugs...
Everyone keeps wanting remakes of Metal Gear Solid (which there already is one) and Metal Gear Solid 3. The only "remakes" I can accept as a true MGS fan would be a remake of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, but staying strictly true to the originals' gameplay and their scripts. It would be so much fun with the FOX Engine to play as the young Solid Snake.
But in metal gear venom should have already had a relationship with snake as he was his commander for the mission, unless snake just never questioned why big boss was suddenly missing an arm. Of course they could always scrub those plot holes by just remaking and rewriting the original two games
I will argue until my dying breath that this game has a mystery that's never been discovered yet. I've datamined the game myself and found so many unused things alot of people don't ever want to talk about or bring up. The mission with the most Unused Soundtracks is Mission 43. My money is betting there's a secret to that mission nobody has found yet. Same might apply for the Prologue as well. (I uploaded one of these unused soundtracks onto my channel, which strangely enough is an entirely different rendition of "Regret and Acceptance") Furthermore, there's leftover files and code relating to a 2-player mode that was initially planned for MGSV, Liquid possibly being planned to be a playable character at some point since his rig is the identical to those of playable characters, the mission creator that was patched in yet never used, and so much more. It's really hard for me to buy the notion that dataminers already searched for everything there is inside the game because I found things nobody else did, that video of the unused Regret and Acceptance rendition is stone-cold proof of that.. Plus they still haven't even found a way to get the terrain out of the game yet, nor can they access all of the cutscenes. Only the main story ones at Mother Base. I highly doubt they've discovered everything there is to the game. They're still finding neat stuff as we speak, like unused Eli animations from Mission 51, and more. I can't say for certain what secrets are still waiting to be discovered inside MGSV, but what I do know, is that there does seem to be somewhat of a distinction between the game's cut content versus what might be hidden. Most of the things that we consider cut is stuff referenced in the code yet has no assets anywhere to be found in the game's entirety (like the unused Miller and Ocelot outfits for DDog), while things that may not be cut and are solely hidden do indeed have some assets proving their existence in the game. (The Unused Mission 43 OST, Battle Gear still being in the game as a disabled asset just like Quiet's Reunion mission was disabled at launch, etc) Kojima himself said in 2018 that it isn't over yet. We all know the tweet I'm talking about (if you don't know, just ask) Recently, I also heard about this game called Accounting+ that had a helping hand by Justin Roiland. That game has an almost indentical secret as well including some Secret Zoo stage that's never been discovered. Most people shrugged it off as a big hoax, thinking that the consumer base was simply being trolled, just like with Chapter 3. Roiland himself has went on record to say that the Secret Zoo stage is indeed inside the game, but players will need to find it themselves. In fact, he mentioned that the people developing it encrypted the assets for the Zoo Stage under a different format so that dataminers won't be able to find it easily, something he commended the team he was working on for being able to do. Note that the studio he was working with, Crows Crows Crows, is a INDIE STUDIO. And this game released in 2016, only a year after MGSV. Who's to say that Kojima couldn't have done the same exact thing with MGSV? He literally pulled the same stunt with Policenauts with the game only ending at Act 2 until the Sega CD release of the game. I'm actually not kidding or making this up, the original msx2 and PC-88 versions of the Policenauts game end after Act 2. Just like how MGSV ends with Chapter 2. As someone who once played a huge part in the Nuclear Disarmament efforts during 2020, I know as a fact that Disarmament is rigged, quite literally speaking. Konami never fixed the phantom nukes, so as long as they exist, the goal will always remain impossible. I'm beginning to think Disarmament doesn't give us Chapter 3 like so many have theorized over the years. If that ever does turn out to be the truth, then it would mean that we're essentially playing by Konami's playbook. The only evidence that can support the Disarmament-unlocking-Chapter 3 theory is the fact that the Nuclear Disarmament Event (or the cutscenes) ends both MGSVTPP and MGSV GZ as games according to the game's code. Considering the nature of the actual event, it is indeed strange. That's where everything falls into obscurity. So yes, while that is still a huge possibility, I'm beginning to also think nobody has ever actually played MGSV the way it was intended to be played. Given the flow of the story, Venom starts out as the type trying to do the right thing, but once the false reality around him begins to crack and shatter (Chapter 2), he becomes a demon. It's a recurring theme I've noticed from the game during all of these years. Again, I'm not trying to explicitly say for certain what kinds of secrets are still inside MGSV, but from my own experience datamining it myself, I'd be quite surprised if there isn't anything more to the game. This mystery Kojima given us is definitely intentional. Why do you think the only Emblem nobody has unlocked in MGSV is the Kojima Emblem? I just hope I live to see what secrets are discovered in the future.
Wow, this was a well thought out and articulated explanation. You definitely motivated me to play more close attention to this game. Even as you stated, there are so many key elements and features that I/we don't even know about. I've been playing this game for about 6 years on literally 3 different consoles and til this day, I am finding out things and abilities that I knew absolutely nothing about. We are definitely not playing this game the way Kojima intended us to, that's for damn sure.

Considering the last scene has Venom in the bathroom time lapsing to "Metal Gear" 1987, it would've been cool to see him exit, and from afar, the camera slowly dollies over. A partial bandana tail then whisps into frame, which blows in a way that eventually covers our view of Venom entirely. End Credits.
2:50 Solid Snake said he dyed his hair brown to keep from being mistaken from Liquid during his briefing of the shadowmoses incident. The part that's all drawn with the background where colonel is explaining he's going to get arrested if he doesn't go to shadow moses.
I would've liked a long chapter 3 where at the end there's a time skip and one last mission where Venom Snakes dies or lets himself get killed at the hands of Solid Snake.
It was about budgets, kojima seems to be bad at it. I love the details he attempts to put in games, but realistically you have to weigh the payoff in the end. The older he got, the longer his dev times got and at the end of the day, its about money
@@maniac50ae14 Death Stranding was a good example of what happens when he's let off his leash to do what he wants. Kojima is a brilliant ideas guy, but he needs people around him to reign him in. There was also a rumour going around that Kojima kept changing his mind on how Phantom Pain was going to play during development, which was obviously pissing Konami off.
@@maniac50ae14 in the end tho, phantom pain made 3x it's budget back. Konami should have had more confidence in MG name selling. But MGSV was happening at a time where Konami's new heads were moving away from big games, and more towards cheap mobile crap. If anything, MGSV was the exact opposite of what they wanted. Also, when dealing with Kojima, they were really petty and dumb. Things could have been solved in a professional manner.
I think having a post credit scene shot in a way that resembles the halo jump of MGS3 but have it set when Snake bails out at the beginning of MG1. It would have been an excellent way to bring the series full circle.
I believe that the absence of Solid Snake's appearance was a colossal missed opportunity in the game, as it's an important piece for contextualizing the ending of MGSV, for fans playing the game in chronological order, they'd have no clue what the hell is going on in the mirror smash scene. David is the context for the ending of Venom's story, yet in the ending he's nowhere to be seen, kinda like a phantom itself ;)
For those playing in release order, for them it's like ohh OHHHH, but many many ppl are getting into the series via chronological order since the games have been out for quite some time. I've played all the games in both release and chronological order and the experience is stellar either, only Phantom Pain was unaccommodating in comparison to the other prequels due to this fact
😔 Big Bosses speech at the end of MGS4 about there being not enough room in the world for multiple snakes. Or better yet that there weren't any snakes at all. 😔 (Themselves, not the reptile, we need certain snakes in certain ecosystems for sure.) 🐍
Like others have said before me, I would have loved to have seen the reveal of Solid Snake to be in the battle against Venom. That would have been so awesome! I'm always amazed how you guys can continue to create such exciting content on what is now considered an old series. Keep the videos coming, guys! You keep my love of Metal Gear strong!
As always, great interpretations and linking the points with each others. Although I like to see the legendary hero "Solid Snake" in V, but it will be contradicted with the timeline. For example: in MGS1 when he first know that he has a twin. Also, he was in USA during that time. It's impossible for him being in Afg Or Africa! But if he would have being shown in MGSV, his hair most likely will be a blond! And this will be interesting and foreshadowing the event in mgs1's briefing scene when he asked "Naomi" for scissors to cut his hair to not be mistaken with his twin!
Yeah but the concept art and line drawings of solid snake in the original Japanese metal gear shows him with either black or brown hair.... not blonde!
I always thought that after venom listened to the truth tape and smashed the mirror and walked away he should have walked into the room of the final battle with solid snake in the original Metal Gear where you switch over and play as Solid to bring the games full circle.
I would have loved to see Grey Fox in this game. Portable Ops is semi-canon, and it already established him as a badass. Would have been cool if he was on mother base.
Definitely feels like something that was planned to happen. In addition to Mantis and Liquid, even baby Otacon made an appearance in a photo in Huey's lab. As I played originally, I expected it to be a subtle get together of all the main MGS1 cast.
Tbh, if i had seen even teeny tiny bit of Solid Snake in MGSV, i would have been so happy. Or even heard him on cassette tapes, that would have been nice too.
This game could’ve had a proper true finale where you fight a hopeless unwinnable battle against Solid Snake in Outer Heaven years after the main story. You have an assault rifle and he has a rocket launcher just like in Metal Gear.
as much as I'd want David to return, there's no actual way you could write him back into the story... He dies shorty after MGS4, traveling the world with Otacon and Sunny, with a smile across his face, peaceful in his sleep.
When Phantom Pain first came out, I had this ridiculous theory that halfway through the game, you would be playing as Solid Snake. His play through would have consisted of completing what would basically be remakes of the first two Metal Gear games. It would have been crazy if this started right after seeing young Solid Snake through Mantis’s lens.

During the truth scene where venom breaks the mirror and walks into the darkness, as he walks in the darkness a bright doorway is at the end, venom walks through and is in the area where solid snake fought venom in the original MG1 game and here we get to see a young solid snake

I don't think so, because The Third Child of Les Enfants Terribles is Solidus Snake, not Psycho Mantis. From what I read online, people said that Psycho Mantis was one of the three children who they tried to experiment on due to having psychic abilities, but take this information with a grain of salt.
I swear there was a quick glimpse of young David in one of the trailers before the trailers release. He looked just like Eli (liquid) with dark shorter hair. But I can't find that trailer anywhere

This game series have so many twists in the storie. So many plots. It's hard to catch up to all details. But it's the best storie in games. Imagine how perfect it was to make first game Metal Gear 1 & make a storie in the middle & just add puzzles in the front of in the back of the storie & then get all pieces togather in one big picture. That's so amazing! This 51 mission...well it was not mention to be like Kojima said. It was in plans but was not make it to final game. Well, seen more is always cool & good to have. But what we got was enough.
Solid Snake appear in MGSV wasn't far fetch since the team behind MGO3 originally had young Solid Snake in MGO3 and MGO3 was going to have a story mode if it own and it was the bridge between MGSV and Metal Gear 1 and they could've shown Solid Snake in last scene of MGSV since that scene takes place in Metal Gear 1 and you hear mother base soldiers having a gun fight
In the Mission Briefing for MGS1, Solid Snake has hair similar to Liquid (long blonde). He cuts and dyes it before the mission to differentiate himself. Is he naturally blonde like Liquid?
I wanted to see big boss's turn from hero to villian in mgsv. I wish the game was completed all the way. It coulda been one of the best games of all time but now it's just gonna fade into obscurity. I love the game got every trophy on ground zeroes and phantom. But I can't ignore how the game is incomplete.
Honestly I was just hoping for a more cohesive plot overall. I'm still addicted to the game for the gameplay, but I remember playing MGS1 over and over again and watching all the cutscenes every time. These days, with MGSV, I skip every cutscene, every time. The gameplay is the only relevant part of the game for me now.
Is everyone forgetting it could be solidus? Theres always 3 the good one the bad one and the perfect one. I. E solidus raiden and solid. Or solid, liquid and big boss. Or even boss big boss and ocelot. It's always three. So v should of been venom liquid and grey fox. Solid couldn't be in the game unless he was just a child.

We should of got 55 missions instead of 51. 51,to55 should be all dlc It would make sense if for 55 missions Because 55 missions It would cover the gap after the missing mission 51 and 52,53,would cove operation Intrude and the other missions 54,55 would cover metal gear2 but it never happened

Hey, great video! I love the Metal Gear series so much. It has been one of top favorites in all of gaming since I played the orginal MGS after launch. I was in 5th grade at the time and it blew my child mind away and was hooked from then on! As much as I love the franchise I feel that the whole story with Solid Snake and Big Boss is definitively done.. I loved MGS5 for game play alone. If we are being honest the story in 5 just wasn't there and what is there is a disjointed mess.. that moment to moment gameplay tho is *chef's kiss* What I'll m getting at is I feel that if the MGS franchise continues it should follow some new characters. The Metal Gear universe has produces some really cool characters capable of some wild things. Perhaps that's something that could be explored more and implemented into gameplay? Sorta like Metal Gear Rising (which s a great game and very underappreciated imo). But yeah, I think it's time to move on from Snake. He had a good run and its definitely one hell of a ride!
I think it would be cool if somehow Snake had a son or a younger clone of himself that was the star of a newer game. But anything in the vein of Metal Gear Survive would be utter trash.

I will argue until my dying breath that this game has a mystery that's never been discovered yet. I've datamined the game myself and found so many unused things alot of people don't ever want to talk about or bring up. The mission with the most Unused Soundtracks is Mission 43. My money is betting there's a secret to that mission nobody has found yet. Same might apply for the Prologue as well. (I uploaded one of these unused soundtracks onto my channel, which strangely enough is an entirely different rendition of "Regret and Acceptance") Furthermore, there's leftover files and code relating to a 2-player mode that was initially planned for MGSV, Liquid possibly being planned to be a playable character at some point since his rig is the identical to those of playable characters, the mission creator that was patched in yet never used, and so much more. It's really hard for me to buy the notion that dataminers already searched for everything there is inside the game because I found things nobody else did, that video of the unused Regret and Acceptance rendition is stone-cold proof of that.. Plus they still haven't even found a way to get the terrain out of the game yet, nor can they access all of the cutscenes. Only the main story ones at Mother Base. I highly doubt they've discovered everything there is to the game. They're still finding neat stuff as we speak, like unused Eli animations from Mission 51, and more.
I can't say for certain what secrets are still waiting to be discovered inside MGSV, but what I do know, is that there does seem to be somewhat of a distinction between the game's cut content versus what might be hidden. Most of the things that we consider cut is stuff referenced in the code yet has no assets anywhere to be found in the game's entirety (like the unused Miller and Ocelot outfits for DDog), while things that may not be cut and are solely hidden do indeed have some assets proving their existence in the game. (The Unused Mission 43 OST, Battle Gear still being in the game as a disabled asset just like Quiet's Reunion mission was disabled at launch, etc) Kojima himself said in 2018 that it isn't over yet. We all know the tweet I'm talking about (if you don't know, just ask)
Recently, I also heard about this game called Accounting+ that had a helping hand by Justin Roiland. That game has an almost indentical secret as well including some Secret Zoo stage that's never been discovered. Most people shrugged it off as a big hoax, thinking that the consumer base was simply being trolled, just like with Chapter 3. Roiland himself has went on record to say that the Secret Zoo stage is indeed inside the game, but players will need to find it themselves. In fact, he mentioned that the people developing it encrypted the assets for the Zoo Stage under a different format so that dataminers won't be able to find it easily, something he commended the team he was working on for being able to do. Note that the studio he was working with, Crows Crows Crows, is a INDIE STUDIO. And this game released in 2016, only a year after MGSV. Who's to say that Kojima couldn't have done the same exact thing with MGSV? He literally pulled the same stunt with Policenauts with the game only ending at Act 2 until the Sega CD release of the game. I'm actually not kidding or making this up, the original msx2 and PC-88 versions of the Policenauts game end after Act 2. Just like how MGSV ends with Chapter 2.
As someone who once played a huge part in the Nuclear Disarmament efforts during 2020, I know as a fact that Disarmament is rigged, quite literally speaking. Konami never fixed the phantom nukes, so as long as they exist, the goal will always remain impossible. I'm beginning to think Disarmament doesn't give us Chapter 3 like so many have theorized over the years. If that ever does turn out to be the truth, then it would mean that we're essentially playing by Konami's playbook. The only evidence that can support the Disarmament-unlocking-Chapter 3 theory is the fact that the Nuclear Disarmament Event (or the cutscenes) ends both MGSVTPP and MGSV GZ as games according to the game's code. Considering the nature of the actual event, it is indeed strange. That's where everything falls into obscurity. So yes, while that is still a huge possibility, I'm beginning to also think nobody has ever actually played MGSV the way it was intended to be played. Given the flow of the story, Venom starts out as the type trying to do the right thing, but once the false reality around him begins to crack and shatter (Chapter 2), he becomes a demon. It's a recurring theme I've noticed from the game during all of these years.
Again, I'm not trying to explicitly say for certain what kinds of secrets are still inside MGSV, but from my own experience datamining it myself, I'd be quite surprised if there isn't anything more to the game. This mystery Kojima given us is definitely intentional. Why do you think the only Emblem nobody has unlocked in MGSV is the Kojima Emblem? I just hope I live to see what secrets are discovered in the future.

Even as you stated, there are so many key elements and features that I/we don't even know about. I've been playing this game for about 6 years on literally 3 different consoles and til this day, I am finding out things and abilities that I knew absolutely nothing about. We are definitely not playing this game the way Kojima intended us to, that's for damn sure.

It was about budgets, kojima seems to be bad at it. I love the details he attempts to put in games, but realistically you have to weigh the payoff in the end. The older he got, the longer his dev times got and at the end of the day, its about money

There was also a rumour going around that Kojima kept changing his mind on how Phantom Pain was going to play during development, which was obviously pissing Konami off.

But MGSV was happening at a time where Konami's new heads were moving away from big games, and more towards cheap mobile crap. If anything, MGSV was the exact opposite of what they wanted. Also, when dealing with Kojima, they were really petty and dumb. Things could have been solved in a professional manner.

I think having a post credit scene shot in a way that resembles the halo jump of MGS3 but have it set when Snake bails out at the beginning of MG1. It would have been an excellent way to bring the series full circle.
I believe that the absence of Solid Snake's appearance was a colossal missed opportunity in the game, as it's an important piece for contextualizing the ending of MGSV, for fans playing the game in chronological order, they'd have no clue what the hell is going on in the mirror smash scene. David is the context for the ending of Venom's story, yet in the ending he's nowhere to be seen, kinda like a phantom itself ;)
For those playing in release order, for them it's like ohh OHHHH, but many many ppl are getting into the series via chronological order since the games have been out for quite some time. I've played all the games in both release and chronological order and the experience is stellar either, only Phantom Pain was unaccommodating in comparison to the other prequels due to this fact

As always, great interpretations and linking the points with each others. Although I like to see the legendary hero "Solid Snake" in V, but it will be contradicted with the timeline. For example: in MGS1 when he first know that he has a twin. Also, he was in USA during that time. It's impossible for him being in Afg Or Africa!
But if he would have being shown in MGSV, his hair most likely will be a blond! And this will be interesting and foreshadowing the event in mgs1's briefing scene when he asked "Naomi" for scissors to cut his hair to not be mistaken with his twin!

When Phantom Pain first came out, I had this ridiculous theory that halfway through the game, you would be playing as Solid Snake. His play through would have consisted of completing what would basically be remakes of the first two Metal Gear games. It would have been crazy if this started right after seeing young Solid Snake through Mantis’s lens.

I don't think so, because The Third Child of Les Enfants Terribles is Solidus Snake, not Psycho Mantis. From what I read online, people said that Psycho Mantis was one of the three children who they tried to experiment on due to having psychic abilities, but take this information with a grain of salt.

Honestly I was just hoping for a more cohesive plot overall. I'm still addicted to the game for the gameplay, but I remember playing MGS1 over and over again and watching all the cutscenes every time. These days, with MGSV, I skip every cutscene, every time. The gameplay is the only relevant part of the game for me now.

Hey, great video! I love the Metal Gear series so much. It has been one of top favorites in all of gaming since I played the orginal MGS after launch. I was in 5th grade at the time and it blew my child mind away and was hooked from then on!
As much as I love the franchise I feel that the whole story with Solid Snake and Big Boss is definitively done.. I loved MGS5 for game play alone. If we are being honest the story in 5 just wasn't there and what is there is a disjointed mess.. that moment to moment gameplay tho is *chef's kiss*
What I'll m getting at is I feel that if the MGS franchise continues it should follow some new characters. The Metal Gear universe has produces some really cool characters capable of some wild things. Perhaps that's something that could be explored more and implemented into gameplay? Sorta like Metal Gear Rising (which s a great game and very underappreciated imo).
But yeah, I think it's time to move on from Snake. He had a good run and its definitely one hell of a ride!
I think it would be cool if somehow Snake had a son or a younger clone of himself that was the star of a newer game. But anything in the vein of Metal Gear Survive would be utter trash.
