Looked up information about the High School. It has a very significant investment in its Performing Arts Dept. Many different awards from Chorus, and Band.
Lovely job. Glad that they put in all of the work, as it is a very nice approach. That being said, I am more of a fan of the Disturbed version, then Puddles Pity Party. I hope to hear a lot more from this group of high school singers, though. Really great work...
I wonder what Paul Simon thinks when he sees bands from around the world preform songs that were written when he was barely in his 20s, before the parents of these musicians were born.
Wait a minute - 'A Capella' is meant to mean, 'without accompaniment' - but there's some percussion in there. I think it would have been better without the accompaniment. Less is more ...
The choreography was too complicated and intricate for your small "Disturbed" minds to fathom. One guy screaming and screeching as in the version by the group Disturbed can not compare to this. You all lack imagination and insight. This was like watching a play at the same time as listening. This was theater worthy art.
I'm gonna be the odd one out here but I think this needs to be said, the voices are amazing, however with this arrangement you have officially butchered this song. I guess it's more in the line of gen Z? But man this was hard to listen to. Honest opinion
LOL I wish I was gen Z. I'm 70 years old and a BMI affiliated songwriter and hold several degrees. But aside from that maybe I was too harsh in my reply. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I should respect that more and not be so confrontational. I enjoyed it a lot. If you didn't that's up to you.🤫
Obviously, you're entitled to your honest opinion. But, here's a friendly reminder: these are just amateur high school kids who recorded a song and shot a music video in their spare time. They're not professionals. It's not perfect, and it's not everyone's taste. But, from a technical and artistic standpoint, this is light years beyond what I (and 99.9% of us) could have accomplished in high school.
@@jeffsmusicpage if you understood my comment you will notice that their talents were never in question. What I take issue with is their arrangement/interpretation of the song. It ruins the message and feeling of the song which is consistently lost in the process. Other than that they are amazing singers no doubt.

You guys have a ton of talent, but this arrangement is not good. I feel like I'm watching an episode of Glee that was excluded from production, and the writer fired for trying to shoehorn West Side Story into ever thing he produced.

Nope, sorry ..... Doesn't do a thing for me! Disturbed did it right. This version comes across as nothing more than a cover, of a cover.

Even Pentatonix (at least) respected the Song

So much talent here. But if I'm being honest, it was too stylized and took away the emotion of the song.
Thank you, I thought I was the only one. Great voices but horrible arrangement. I guess it's good for gen Z though
Yeah, everyone got involved... except the song
@@fabianshamano5953 It's not A Capella either - there's some percussion at least, probably added later.
