Hi! I'm doing a project on granolas for one of my courses and one of the things that we're trying to evaluate is its peroxide value. In order to do so, we plan to do a lipid extraction. During our preliminary testing, we used petroleum ether as our solvent in the extraction and noticed that it took an extremely long time to evaporate (we ended up letting it sit overnight and came back to the lab the next day). I was wondering if you would know why this is happening - if another solvent would be the solution? Why is our solvent taking that long to evaporate? From research, my group members and I found that petroleum ether would work as well. Thanks!
Hello! I am also doing a project about rancidity of vacuum-fried watermelon. I would like to ask you if you can extract a lot of fat from the method which you did? Is the extracted fat used to determine the peroxide value enough? Thank you🙏

By using thin layer chromatography. And if u want to extract different components of liquid then use High performance thin layer chromatography
