Hello, and greetings from Texas USA. Lovely video, thank you for creating! I've been on the fence for years concerning the Sony FE Zeiss 24-70 f/4. I already own three Zeiss lenses - the Touit 2.8/50M Macro, the FE 1.8/55M, and the Batis 2.8/135M. Today, after watching your video, I purchased the 24-70. OK, the 24-70 is 10 years old and bypassed by others in its genre - I don't care. I'll concentrate on it's strengths and hopefully avoid the weaknesses. I appreciate your videos and hope to see more soon.
You won't find any debilitating weaknesses, rest assured. Oftentimes are mid range lenses overlooked in favor of far more expensive counterparts, and the difference in price is rarely proportional. Enjoy your lens sir, it will serve you well I'm sure!
I've travelled all over the world with the FE Z 2470. It and I have produced some beautiful images. Some were astonishing and magical. Somewhat random and not as predictable as I might have wished. When my Zeis 24-70 focus motor broke (disconnected from it's mount) I tried to repair it. Almost got it but broke the smallest ribbon cable. I upgraded to the Sony G 20-70 and have NEVER LOOKED BACK. Wish I'd upgraded to the 20-70 when it came out: IQ is better and I love the extra 4mm, makes a huge difference in my landscapes!
@@jonathanc7006 Jonathan, good morning. I've also moved on to the Sony FE 24-70 F2.8 GMII. It's a wonderful lens and I don't see myself changing anytime soon. Good luck with the 20-70 G, it's a winner from all I've read.
Going from bought-broken to repaired with then alternative(non-commercial) take on cinematography for every lens ever produced please - endless lens ASMR energy.
@@EndlessEnergy I’ve watched tons of Sony lens reviews past few days - those videos except maybe other one were all kind of the same - this video was anything like I’ve seen before. Also the recent waves 🌊 short clip is amazing - shared the waves one in a private whatsaap group for our GuruShots team. Great work!
@@EndlessEnergy yeah those are like stock video footage - algorithm proposed me the Sony Zeiss lens, as I’ watching anything around 24-70 G Sony Master MKII, on my other channel (I have a bunch of those nothing spectacular though) some of my GoPro biking videos got a lot of traction while other not so much - sometimes it’s particular music that will hit sometimes the video itself hits the interest in public - I was shocked yers ago that my most viewed video at the time was a single shot walkthrough of Brimingham train 🚂 station - weird stuff - Never tried the voice over video and rarely ever showing myself - the wave video with storyline voice over would not be the same - but… it would maybe fit to some motivation relax meditation content - I liked it the way it is - there’s a lot of stuff on yt that is popular but not very unique.

I recently got the 85mm Batis. I love that thing. I wish they would still make new lenses for the Sony mount. I think they would be killer !
