I'll be buying a Sony A7 III in the future but after spending such a huge chunk of money on a camera I need a reasonable cheap lens. This lens is at an affordable price and it appears to be an all-rounder. Thanks
Hi! I am looking for a zoom lens to shoot details far away... I am between the 24-105 and this 24-70mm... di you think the 70mm is zoom enough for capturing some details ? (not soo far away)
I think the Tamron 28-75mm is an important competitor for this lens - not so much the 24-70mm 2.8...because of its price obviously. A comparison between the Sony F4 and the Tamron F2.8 is necessary to determine if the Sony F4 is still relevant in my opinion. / i would be interested in that comparison
Vulpes Lagopus man I did a review on the 24 -70 zeiss and said it was a good lens but not worth the price sense there is a 2.8 around. And I got madd dislikes on the video. I couldn’t figure it out lol. I was just saying the F2.8 is a better investment long term.
The Tamron is sharper but has two nitpicky drawbacks... (A) the focus and zoom rings are flipped on the Tamron... WHAT!?? And (B) the Tamron has no OIS :( but at least the camera does.
iComplainer yea. I didn’t even count that because they are very small Details. OIS is a big one. But is the OIS and that big of deal to spend an extra 1200 on the Sony G master?!? Prolly not
reviewers are too generous to multi-billion dollar companies. 24-70 f4's have been around for ever, this one is quite soft, especially in the corners, which is outrageous given it's insane price tag compared to any other 24-70 f4, which every one i can think of is sharper, even micro four thirds f2.8 zooms are way sharper. It's also not weather sealed and pretty bulky.
well, it IS big in my opinion, hahaha. Owned 24-70 the first time I own A7ii, does not satisfied with the lens considering the price. I even got the 24-70 f4 on 600$. Now I own 24-105 and difference in image quality, bokeh, and color tone is noticeable. Hope this helps
And much worse autofocus.. and a step down in build quality... And dust in your lens.. and a very relevant 4mm at the wide end where it's a significant percentage.. and noisy bokeh..
End with "maybe consider the 24-70/2.8" 😂 Well, yes, the lens with twice the cost and a full range 2.8 is going to be better. Kinda like reviewing a Prius then recommending a Tesla.
I've heard there's better lenses for the price except for the fact that I've realised Jessops are selling me it for a third off, I really can't beat that
fit-finish & build quality of sony-zeiss & g-master + Fuji lenses is superior to Canon/Nikon lenses, and also, the former look ultra-modern, while the Dslr lenses still retain classic old look.
I shot a Ralph Lauren campaign using this lens...... Do I need to say more ?
Wow!!!

Me too! I am actually trying to decide on one of these lenses and I cannot seem to make my mind. Which one would you recommend?

라사 the tamron 2.8. I did a whole video why you should get the 2.8 vs an 4.0.
Ive heard very mixed reviews of this lens, some people say its amazing, other people say it has horrible ghosting at F4, and very blury corners.
Question! Hope you get this. How is the manual focus on your perspective? I hear many people say its bad
A little confused... at 3:57 you say "FE mount system" but at 4:05 the lens says "E-mount".
Technically it’s an E mount lens.
FE stands for full frame E mount

i own one already but i want to upgrade it to 24-105 F4, i just don't know if it is wroth and how big difference will it be

I sold my 24 to 70 as soon as I could. I would not use it on any pay gig. not sharp at all.
The 24-105 is one of the BEST lenses out there. Unbelievable quality, sharpness, contrast.
For a 100g weight difference and ~$100 more, one could buy the Tamron 28-70 and get a lens twice as fast at 2.8 though.
And much worse autofocus.. and a step down in build quality... And dust in your lens.. and a very relevant 4mm at the wide end where it's a significant percentage.. and noisy bokeh..
I find I have to hold my version extra steady(more than my other Sony Lenses) to get a sharp center when shooting wide open. ??
been thinking of the A7iii for my new camera and was thinking of this lens. Thanks for the review.
I just ordered this combo. A7iii + 24-70 f4. Did you buy them?

Not much of a review, perhaps less other stuff, more review.
kinachahue exactly..
Pop pop p
Would you say this lens is good for photography (landscape) and video (general)?
Chang Park all of the above.
You are better off with the Sony 28-70, same kind of quality, but plastic/lighter and much cheaper.
I don't know.. there is something I love about the Sony 24-70 Zeiss.
24-105 is best for video or 24-70 Zeiss? Which one is best?
Depends on what look and feel you're after :P
Is this lens good for night photography?
hey mate, what lens you used for the very beginning scene?
I've heard there's better lenses for the price except for the fact that I've realised Jessops are selling me it for a third off, I really can't beat that
11 years old now my man
If under lower light ?
