    Excellent. As a life long, servant leader in the Messianic Jewish movement, I really appreciate this teaching. It is one of the most biblically sound treatments of this issue I've ever heard outside our movement. Please support Messianic Jewish ministries like "One For Israel"; i.e. those Messianic Jewish ministries which believe in Jewish evangelism. Matthew 23:39 is as important as Matthew 24:14 to Yeshua's return; "to the Jew first & also to the Gentile"

    I found pastor Leighton Flowers just recently through an interview that he did on “Good fight ministries” TH-cam channel and I subscribed to him right away and I’ve been watching a lot of his videos because I’m not a Calvinist nor do I believe in Calvinism, but I do follow Pastor John MacArthur and Pastor Voddie Baucham , and I know they’re both Calvinist, again I do not agree with Calvinism but I get a lot from both Pastor MacArthur and Pastor Voddie’s teachings, but I’m happy that the Lord led me to Pastor Leighton because I’m learning a lot
    I also just watched the video earlier that you did with Pastor Leighton 3 years ago and I loved it and now I’m watching this because I see that you guys always bring up Romans Ch9, John Ch6 (which I need to check out) and also Ephesians Ch1

    What Mike, and so many today miss, is that Paul was a Jew => speaking many times directly to believing Jews who were saved by a different gospel in a different dispensation in The Kingdom age. Our current time DOESN’T have this kind of overlap. Doesn’t have the diminishing of one program while the new program was growing/increasing. Not a single believing church today has a Jewish leader with members who became saved under two gospels.

    I know this teaching is old, however I love your enthusiasm. I would encourage you to reevaluate some of your teaching. 1 example is your comment on Paul’s quoting of Hosea. In essence you argue that Paul is quoting a prophecy about the Northern Kingdom of Israel (and not the Southern Kingdom of Judah which you incorrectly labeled the Northern Kingdom when you called them Jews) and the state that Paul is not using Hosea to apply the prophesy of the restoration of Israel but to show that God is going to use it for the Gentiles only. Actually Paul Is using Hozier to show them the fulfillment of the prophecy that is happening with you inclusion of the Gentiles yes. I would love to discuss that with you. But you probably will never see this comment.
    I love you brother and I can keep doing a great job teaching and I love your enthusiasm. Keep up the great work!!!

    I think contextually from the old testament verses and context for confess, paul is likening the natural confession of the saved to that of the remnant isreal at the end of the tribulation inwhich the nation must confess christ for the second return to occur....blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. The OT is end times context

    Question: you did a great job on this series and I think you are absolutely right about the way Paul is using Hosea in this context. However, so much of prophecy has multiple fulfillments (Hosea's statement "out of Egypt I called my son" for instance. He was talking about Israel, but we are told in the NT, that it also had further fulfillment in Jesus) This happens over and over again with the prophets. Peter also quotes Hosea in 1 Peter 2:9-10 and he is not discussing Jewish issues at all, merely writing encouragement to a persecuted church. It's possible this church was mostly Jewish, but unlikely that it was only Jewish because of where they were. If you read his letter, he seems to very clearly apply titles and prophecies first given to Israel to the entire church, implying that the ultimate fulfillment of those is in God's eternal people, the whole church, both faithful Jews and believing gentiles. Because of Peter's usage, I have to think that much like his Egypt prophecy, Hosea's "not my people" prophecy was fulfilled first in the nation of Israel, and ultimately in the saving of the whole world, jew and gentile alike. Is there a reason for me to think I'm wrong about this?

    Hello my friend. I just wanted to say thank you for your examinations of Scripture. They are quite helpful. However, I am curious as to why you seem to draw a line between Catholics and other sorts of Christians like Calvinists, Arminians, and so on. You cited the Council of Trent's soteriology as an example of a significant distinction between Christians and Catholics. That Council said "If anyone says that man can be justified before God by his own works, whether done by his own natural powers or by the teaching of the Law, without divine grace through Jesus Christ, let him be anathema". I write to you not as a Catholic, but as a non-denominational Christian (with Baptist and Charismatic roots) who happens to have many Catholic friends and family. I appreciate your intellectual approach to the Bible, and I am thankful to hear your perspective.

    • @SeanusAurelius
      @SeanusAurelius 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Former Catholic here.
      He explains it at 21:00. Catholic teaching equivocates on what grace is and whether it can be merited in theory, and in practice comes down on the side of works.
      Note also that some of the other canons of Trent anathematize salvation by faith alone. E.g. Canon 9: If anyone says that the sinner is justified by faith alone, meaning that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to obtain the grace of justification, and that it is not in any way necessary that he be prepared and disposed by the action of his own will, let him be anathema.
      See also the Catechism articles 2000 - 2020 or so; meriting not only your own salvation but that of others is totally incompatible with the Gospel, despite other parts being unobjectionable.

    I've also noticed that most Catholics don't know what they believe. They use human wisdom to justify anything they think they believe, instead of the Word of God. Or, they parrot what they have been told by their leaders but have no inward conviction of the truth. They live according to the conviction of the leaders rather than personal convictions. They fail to acknowledge that they can have a personal relationship with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. They fail to acknowledge what Christ's death and resurrection has offered them! By their admission that only the pope and priests can interpret scripture, they admit they are spiritually deaf and blind, and dead. "Whoever has ears to hear...."

    I've actually heard a Jewish wanna be rabbi on youtube quote
    Isaiah 1:10-14 saying that they are no longer required to have a blood atonement and high priest - they forget to read from the beginning where God is disgusted in their vain sacrifices that he will no longer accept them just for them to go back to wilful sinning - they turn it around to say God only expects them to ask for repentance now lol. I guess ISAIAH 59:2 and Isaiah 1:15 were deleted out of their tanak when Isaiah 53 was lol. I wish you would do a video arguing all Tovia Singers false translations of the OT. How can they say that praying to a wall is not idolatry? Do they forget that God does not hear their prayer without a high priest? (JESUS)

      the Bibles that most of us use, are not inspired....it is the original writings, in the original languages....and as such there is a controversy....over the meanings of words, because the dictionaries are not inspired....take porneia…….in Matthew....as fornication or sexual immorality....who came up with these definitions....and at what time....ergo the study, of the Bible...involves quite a bit of investigation....

    • @SabastianDuke
      @SabastianDuke 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting question. If the Bible is fallible, how can someone truly believe in Christ? The whole bible then becomes a question of what is real and want isn't. The signs of Christ in old testament lose their weight.
      And Jesus is the word. The living breathing word. So to not accept the Bible as truth, is to state that Christ is not truth.
      Christ is the way, the truth and the Life.

    • @graftme3168
      @graftme3168 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@philipbuckley759 It is my understanding that most of the biblical definitions that are published in secular dictionaries have come from Catholicism and their own interpretations and teachings, and not original. I see many people use secular dictionaries to interpret words in the Bible and they don't even realize the falsehood behind those definitions. Most of American culture has been influenced by Catholicism and most churches today have adopted Catholic beliefs and traditions without even knowing it! Tithing was never taught in the New Testament church until the depression. Catholicism always taught tithing. The fancy church building was originally Catholic, and even the now popular pulpit! Adding works to be saved came from Catholicism. There is a LOT of things Christians have adopted from Catholicism and don't even realize it. There is so much influence from Catholicism that they even named our days of the week and our months, which have pagan meanings. Even the popular altar in the churches today was adopted from Catholicism. Churches today look nothing like the early church!

      Probably the single greatest Messianic prophecy, Isaiah 53, is followed by a chapter that speaks of nation being decimated again and again reborn in Isaiah 54:4-5, ““Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore. For your Maker is your husband, The Lord of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.”
      The imagery in the rest of the chapter makes it clear that this restoration is post second coming.
      Hope that helps.

    Foul language can be a matter of opinion. I say, "Oh my God" at times when I am addressing God and I get judged for it. Years ago when God was working mightily in me I told an elder that it was "weird" and he judged me for using that word. I immediately knew that God did not judge me for that because He knew my heart. Nonetheless, I looked up the definition of weird: not of this world, peculiar, unusual. I laughed because it brought scripture to my remembrance. "A peculiar people." We are "not of this world." Lol

Duet 13 says don't accept a prophet or dreamer who says that because God is testing you. In another video Mike did say the law was temporary so I'm not sure he believes it's for today. (I am not saying every Gentile who is a Christian misunderstands the gospel) as Jews start coming back into the fold of God through Christ we will start to see that many of them are going to want to fix these issues and bring the gospel back to its 100% True Form think first century second-century Church. This is what leads to the hundred forty-four thousand weather the number is literal or symbolic doesn't really matter to me. but we know that this, that there is supposed to be a group of Jews who go on spreading the word throughout the world and the Harvest that they bring is bigger than anything seen before. Heck Paul alludes to this and Romans 11 when he talks about how much the word will spread in spite of the Jews and then says just imagine how much more when the Jews are fully in we are indeed coming closer and closer to that time many and many more Jews are coming to Christ way more than before and not as a result of persecution. Q: In Heaven is there man or woman, Greek or Jew???
    S: I truly believe the twelve tribes are significant as well are a stumbling block for both Jew and Gentile. For we are not saved by race or peoples but by Grace. Linking one’s lineage to Abraham means nothing. Yes the promise made with Abraham stands and will stand true thru out time.
    Truly having faith in Heavenly Father and standing in His shadow in obedience is key. Standing on the Rock which is Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father. I see many are confused to see that Jew and Gentile are the same at least at the second coming. For this is a stumbling block that hangs up many that profess to serve the God of Abraham. A stumbling block to first the Jews which has blinded them and then later to the Gentiles which will confuse and deceive them. Not a deception set by the God of Abraham but but Satan and the children of disobedience. Only a honest heart that truly serves God will be able to see this truth and overcome this deception. For this is the premise of the Great Deception spoken by Jesus was in Mathew 24. For in the second coming it is not literal or temporal Israel 🇮🇱✡️♉️🖤☠️ but spiritual Israel 🕊❤️ 😇 which is ALL who stand as children of God thru faith and obedience.

Why didn't Paul object to the Elders at Jerusalem rejoicing about many Jews who had come to faith being "zealous for the Torah" (Acts 21:20) or why didn't he refuse to follow their instructions to participate in the Temple protocol in Acts 21:22-25?

      then why buy indulgences? why pray to statues? why pray to Mary, who is not our mediator? Why not state outright that faith alone is the way to salvation?

      Catholics do believe in works .. it’s in your Bible, and it’s a direct contradiction to Eph 2:8-9, also in the Bible.
      Funny thing (ironic, not funny) - my neighbor is Catholic, he has the Catholic Bible, but never gets in it. Just blindly follows his leadership. If he actually ever read his Catholic Bible, and applied a little critical thought, he’d see the eternal danger in Catholicism.

      The word gentiles is a loose transliteration of the Latin Word gentilis… the translators brought it over from the Latin Vulgate. Gentilis does not mean not mean non-Israelites… it means belonging to a family or nation or clan. It’s root is gens… which means nation.

      I agree! The apostle Paul seems to make that clear more than once! How often did he speak against the Jews trying to Judaize the believers?
      Also, the Bible says that if there is a change in the priesthood (and there is) then there must be a change in the law. The New Covenant is not as the Old. There is nothing Jewish about it.

      What? Jesus came through the bloodline of the Jews. ALL of the disciples and early church were Jews. Christianity is the next step from the Law.
      The Gospel is that the Jewish Messiah died for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose from the grave on the 3rd day, and whoever believes in him will have eternal life.

    Mike, I love listening to your talks however, please stop saying that Mormons believe they are saved by works. This is absolutely not true. The leaders in the church have given several talks where they confirm our belief of being saved by grace. Anything defined as "works" is the same as what you would do to progress in the knowledge and actions of the commandments of the gospel.

      Karen Lam I implore you to watch the rest of the video and also to view his other videos about The RCC. He loves Catholics as brothers and sisters in Christ. You really need to read the Bible for what it actually says and not what the RCC wants you to believe according to their doctrine. Why would you need anything other than the Bible?The RCC is a corporation not a religion, and the Church is a people not a building. Replace the word Church with people anywhere in the Bible and it makes perfect sense. I WAS a devout Catholic for 45 years until I found the truth that is the Bible and God. There is no reason to follow a Pope, Bishop, or a Priest that are all just men. Please do not place another man as a steward or mediator between you and God. All you need is God and only God. The RCC’s entire premise comes out of doctrine that they have made up to fit what they want you to follow and believe to keep you under their umbrella. I pray you find the truth in your journey with God. Do not let a corporation dilute your faith. All you need is faith. Not faith with works and grace. God bless you.
