The fact that Tom could bring his family out and show them off and that his family didn’t fuck him over is a HUGE fuck you to Upchurch. After all, his mom stole from him and he is suing her. And Church’s dad isn’t in the picture either. Golly, that was brutal while being positive. The biggest double entendre in one of Tom’s songs.

He was putting out an inspiring song for everyone hoping people would hear something in this song to better themselves too. It is him saying that he has grown. He isnt the old person he was. He is better but also owns the old him because without that person he wouldnt be him now. He mentions that he regrets that beef with mac lethal because of what happened to him. But I personally don't think that was really why the things happened to mac lethal because of their rap battle but Tom does inside. For him to mention it when it was over long ago & done with in his new song then obviously he does feel bad inside about it. This song was basically saying live to be the best person you can be. Never forget to help your family & your friends out. Don't look down & etc weren't even like this at all. This song has a positive vibe for everyone.

Upchurch said he would never do a collab with someone who says "hail satan" in a rap, referring to one of Tom's raps from long ago (I apologize for not knowing the specifics, but that was Upchurch's claim.) But before all of this, Upchurch re-released "Travellers" featuring Struggle Jennings and Tom, then took it down (after a couple of years) when this beef started.

I am 60 and love all kinds of music and play the piano. I never liked rap at all. 4 months ago I came across his channel. At first, his looks captured my attention. Then I listened to his songs. I tell you this young man has fought for everything he has ever achieved. Down to the bone. I noticed especially with this video Tom will not compromise anything. He will not stoop to anyone's level. Here in this video, he is spilling his guts and soul like I have never heard before. I love this song and video. Stay true to yourself Tom and you will be fine. One thing I must point out is that all his success comes from God. Tom has turned his life to him and believes in him and God has given him this talent and success. I appreciate your perspective on this song.
This has strong shades of "The Best Rapper Ever." Which is one of my favorite TM songs.

Tom is using the Truth of his life to teach. He's owning his humble past, not being ashamed of it. Showing thanks for his gifts, and refusing to apologize for successfully employing them after many hard lessons. He's telling everyone, if he can overcome, then you can too. What I suspect people will miss is that success does not look the same for every person - it is different for each of us.

I too lived in Co ,besides 4 other states and abroad for 5 yrs. Colorado was my favorite place, so beautiful and peaceful where I lived. From what I saw back in the 90' s lot of CA moved there and fast forward to today screwed things up there big time ! Shame !

It's the way Tom chooses to respond to beefs and haters. It's the way he's done it since the whole Mac Lethal beef made him feel dirty after he buried Mac. Part of the response is also having his family in the video and talking about how close they are and all he's done for them since one of the guys dissing him (not worth mentioning his name) can't say the same and has driven everyone close to him away with his insane behavior. Tom has often said that the thing he's most proud of is what he's been able to do for his family and friends after they supported him for years when he was broke and at his lowest. This song and video are fire and I liked your reaction.
Church can act erratic, but it's bias and nonsensical to think Tom could bury him. I like them both, listen to them both regularly, but Church is the far superior lyricist. It's not even close.

It is kind of crazy, I never had the issues with alcohol and addiction... I did, but I dug myself out early and can enjoy it without sinking again. I have also not had the depths of despair that Tom had... in many ways, My life was a bit closer to Upchurch... but I never connected with Upchurch... I listened to his stuff and it is pretty good, but I connected with the message that Tom brings... I have been through my own shyte and was forged in the fires of pain and suffering, and yet I fought through it, I became that much better every time. I haven't had any of the "easy" cards played, no boosters from rich parents, no advantages beyond those I created myself... I continue to survive because of my own efforts and like Tom, I repay those who stuck around and were supportive while casting aside those that just wanted to use me for their own ends. It hurts... but it also made be stronger. Just like Tom, I believe in the good in people, I love my country despite it's flaws and strive to make it better. Respect, tenacity, effort, responsibility... those are more than just words, they are ideals for all of humanity to strive for.

Entirely different audiences. Tom made some great recovery songs and now he increasingly panders to the Conservative crowd, which is fine, I'm part of that on both accounts. Church doesn't pander to anyone, he makes redneck music for rednecks for bars that often only country folk understand. He also makes basic country music, love songs, rap, deep thinker music, he switches up his styles from album to album because he's not pandering to anyone, he's doing whatever the fuck he wants to whether people like it or not. It's not surprising in the least that most Tom fans don't like Church and that's ok. I like most of Tom's music even if I think he's a largely grifting, that's capitalism, the American dream. Good for him. But a rational, objective thinker can look at his more woke past and see his progression of views going further right with each album while the $$ rolls in and realize it's just filling a niche missing in the rap community or most of music in general - repping Conservative values. And that's irrelevant to me, because I'm still here for it. The sobriety and anti-woke message needs to be spread any way possible in my opinion. But we can still be honest about what it is and still think it's a positive thing.

Anyway God doesn’t make us sick and yes I’m blessed no matter my circumstances. You don’t have to understand it or probably can’t bc no one has my journey but me. God did not cause the painful situation that we can find ourselves in but HE does deliver us! Even though people say things like “you talk to the guy in the sky” and make fun of us, they only see our external struggles they can’t see what God has done on the inside of us that “Changed” the moment we cried out to the Lord and repented for what we have done to “Ourselves” HE absolutely delivers us from our sins and HE does transform us from the inside and it is HE that gives us unbelievable mercy and healing! Others may look at us and think/say “oh your God healed you so why are you still dealing with your affliction” they can’t understand, they can’t “SEE”the healing!! God does give us the strength to rise above our affliction however long it takes!! Sometimes our Faith in God is a testimony to everyone that WE will trust God in spite of our struggle! That’s why like you said we are warriors! We will Not stop fighting we will not stop believing we will always stand strong in the mist of anything for God will be magnified and all glory is to God the Father Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit which is our comforter, and HE does comfort us through all our trails on earth!
