      Very similar pov here as well, in the rap there's jabs at diff rap artist and then it's brought home w/the hook and I think one of the really main reasons a lot of the youth are becoming "thugs/hoes" is a direct consequence of the "father less home structure"! I agree alone rap/music, etc has only soo much input/control but w/out a strong family lead, that influence then becomes the leading example/role model and that's def not what we want! Or let me say not what I Want! Lol

      It is far more likely to become a real right wing grifter from listening to Ben Shapiro's lies than to become a real Thug or Ho from listening to the lies and few times truths of some rappers if we are being honest, so even that message would be just as cringe and nonsensical as everything else about this song.

      @@survivalrush Well, I think for a first timer like Ben, he actually did great, especially for someone who doesn't really rap at all (atleast since before this track). To be honest, what shocked me the most on this track wasn't Ben being a rapper but him actually doing it. It is because after hearing him talk for how many times now, I honestly think Ben has the capabilities to actually be a rapper, especially him initially being a fast talker. He just needs to sharpen the tools needed, if you get what I mean. Still, that's on him if he wants to keep on doing it. 😌

      People dislike him because he's a terrible person who's entire worldview is reductionist to the point of absurdity. His views are infantile in scope, he point black refuses to engage in nuance and cares only about pushing this brain melting reductionism onto young, impressionable kids. Many of his views are exclusionist, misogynistic, fascistic & ultra-traditional: even regressive. The worst part is how he invokes science as his ally while disrespecting the cientific method - a method which is designed to eliminate bias from studies. Rather, he cherrry picks studies that either support his view or have any data that can be construed to support said view even when the study itself does not. He's disingenuous and dangerous. He, along with JP and Walsh are heavilty instrumental in the current wave of fascism that's gaining traction in the US and abroad. So yeah, some of us don't think fascists are funny.

    • @buckhorncortez
      @buckhorncortez 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Much of Rap is more like poetry recited to a musical background. It certainly does not have the compositional structure found in traditional Western musical theories. That includes unorthodox music like the 12-Tone Theory found in Schoenberg, Webern, etc. Rap is interesting because it sounds freeform, but really good rap is as highly structured as any of the standard musical forms. It has more in common with jazz than any of the other musical genres. If you think of some of Miles Davis's early work like "Round Midnight" it's so foreign when you first hear it because it establishes a completely new musical aesthetic. Like all musical forms, some of it is completely trash while there are also fully realized pieces that could not exist in any other form. The first piece that really got my attention was Coolio's "Gangsta Paradise," in 1995 as it seemed fully realized and integrated where the words and music reinforced each other. In fact, it is so good, that it allowed Al Yankovic to write a parody "White & Nerdy" and the structure of the original held up in the parody.

    You touch on some good points here. As a dad who had to give up everything and spend $40,000 in lawyers fees fighting for my kid....it make me look long amd hard at our custody system. Where we are with fathers is no accident. It was a steady progression of laws all the way up to early 1970's from the 1800's.
    Mother preference, a welfare state, aggressive child support laws, DV and restraining order laws being exparte....even abortion and birth control. It all led to Fathers being removed from their role in the family and home. It is no coincidence that the government has rapidly expanded and enforced indoctrination on our kids in public schools. It is no accident we have so many fatherless homes. Women being pushed into the workplace is only the next phase.
    2 Hiccups in the whole process came in 1979 and 1989 that changed how custody was determined. Fathers now had an avenue if they fought and stood their ground in court. Since 1990, men have gone from being only 10% of single custody parents to over 25% and it grows every year.
    Black families used to have the highest monogomy rates in the 95+ % before the welfare state was introduced.
    I listen to Christian rap and hip-hop myself, and some other select guys like NF, as you mentioned. I can't stand the mainstream stuff. 0

Fortunately, the evil behind the corruption hasn't been totally successful in killing the foundation of the genre and there's still hope (quite a bit, actually) that rap will return to it's roots and be a force for good in the culture.
