      They're alright... Only my favorite favorite band. I had the opportunity to buy him a couple of beers after a show in lubbock during the colors tour I believe. Probably 2008. Super down to earth and not egotistical at all, even though he is in the greatest band ever....

    met dustie after a btbam show and told him what a huge inspiration his band is and thanked him for giving us so much amazing music.
    he was really nice and very grateful for the support. super down to earth guy

      until you ask him why he endorsed an anti lgbt brand in an interview and he writes back a bunch of hateful shit and quickly deletes it because he knows how bad he fucked up, but still refuses to recant or apologize. then he is just a nasty, defensive, petty asshole. so its pretty much all a charade then

    I love Dusty and Paul. I’ve been listening to BTBAM for almost that whole 20 years. Remember getting the music video for mordecai on a victory records sample pack and thinking how wild it was.

      I got that sampler in this box of samplers and EPs by the register of my local skate shop when I was younger. That one had comeback kid on it.

      Dude same! In 2003 I was a dumb kid in jean shorts that lived for moshing at beatdown shows. I first saw them on tour with TERROR, of all bands lol. Been a fan ever since. Even got to see them with Chon before the lockdown. They're better than ever. They even played Roboturner off of Alaska, it was sick!

    I met Dustie outside a show in Hartford right before The Great Misdirect came out. We weren’t able to get tickets but he got me and 3 others inside for the show. Amazing person and incredible guitarist.

    I just purchased my first PRS guitar today! A faded blue burst DW CE24. And I had not heard of Dustie before, or his band... but the guitar looked pretty sweet and so I'm excited to get it via UPS in another week or so. So I'm here checking out Dustie.. who seems to be a pretty cool dude. Rock on Dustie! I already purchased Colors II... looking forward to receiving that as well. :-)

    I've seen these guys literally like 15 times, without even leaving my state. These guys tour like mad men. I dunno how they do it. I sure hope they don't get burnt out.. But I think doing the Colors tour, then this Evening With, playing The Great Misdirect and old stuff.. That kind of thing probably keeps it fresh. The two times I saw Colors played in it's entirety were the two best shows I've ever seen by any band.

      I remember watching one of Tommy's FB live Q&As, and someone asked him what he thought about The Dillinger Escape Plan breaking up. One of his thoughts was that he didn't understand why bands break up if they don't have to. He said BTBAM is still in it for the long run.

      They straight up rule. I've seen them 4-5 times. First when colors came out and they opened for COB. Next during their parallax future sequence tour I saw them with Coheed. I think the two other times were around the same time as parallax 2 with the contortionist.

    Right now I'm rocking the HELL out of it with Coma Ecliptic and Automata I and II. They've become one of my favorite bands of all. They are so unique, cool, sofisticated, brutal and delightful that sometimes I want to cry and at the same time I feel so fortunate for discover such and amazing band. Hope you guys continue to amazed us! 🤟🏻❤️

    It's really cool that he mentioned More Of Myself To Kill. I am waiting patiently for the day they rip Fire For A Dry Mouth live. Online or in person, would be a real gem to hear nowadays. Love Colors 2, great fucken band.

    my first exposure to BTBAM was in one of those Victory records promotional DVDs where they intro'd their new single and music video for Alaska. Dusty was the only one that spoke and everyone else just cracked up. they have always been genuine and silly art makers. top three bands of all time for sure. love these guys.

    Paul was my favourite guitarist back in highschool/ college days, but Dustie's approach and mind set resonate so much more with me. I too find myself caring less and less about shredding and more and more about a good melody, regardless of how many notes it takes to play or how fast it is played.

      @@flagmuffin1221 How so? I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I think it is light years ahead of most other solo's. In not just it's technical complexity, but also the composition of the solo itself.

      @@calvinvarga1460 It's not even that technically impressive in the modern day. Not saying Paul isn't technically impressive, everyone in the band is.
      It sounds very nice - the choice of sweeping arpeggios is beautiful. But that's about where my interest in the solo ends. It's just a sort-of jazzy clean tone section (the tone of which just sounds godawful to me) followed by, what I think is, generic sweeping. It's well crafted and serves it's purpose, but ultimately doesn't interest me.
      My favourite BTBAM solos are that small section in Augment of Rebirth, Yellow Eyes and Blot - *edit* and Life in Velvet. Hell, even Paul's jazzy solos on Coma appeal to more than the Selkies one.
      TL;DR It's just a matter of different tastes, really.

    Around 1:05 you can hear Mark Tremonti talking about his amp in the boot behind. Dustie also used MT15 for this demo. I guess you just can't get a better sounding practice amp for that money.
