    Im a virgin and asexual so idc about the pregnancy part i just want to reduce or stop my periods. But i just dont want any crazy side effects. The patch seems to be more my speed. Dont want nothing going up me so the ring is completely ruled out . The pull ive heard some horror stories about.
    Thanks for this vid

    BC pills give me horrible migraines and hormonal IUD makes me aggressive and fatigued. I just started Nuvaring a couple months ago, so far so good. I did notice more discharge though. My hubby literally doesn't know it's there, I haven't told him and he hasn't noticed 😀

      Sorry to hear that. you may need to CHANGE progesterones. Ask your doctor to consider changing to a higher progestational effect progesterone such as desogestrel or drosperinone.

    What would you suggest the patch or the ring?

    • @PandiaHealth
      @PandiaHealth  5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Generally we suggest the ring over the patch because 1. the ring you only have to think about once a month vs. the patch each week. 2. no one sees the ring (privacy) 3. the patch has higher dose of estrogen which may increase risk of blood clots. Either method is better than pregnant...

    People in my family have hypertension...is it okay to still take birth control? Also, never having been on birth control, what should I say to my doctor to improve the likelihood of being approved?

    • @PandiaHealth
      @PandiaHealth  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As long you don’t have hypertension, it’s ok to use regular birth control pills. If you have hypertension, then you can use the IUD with hormone, implant, shot, - they don’t have estrogen the “clotting risk hormone.” Tell your doctor your honest medical history. They are here to make sure you SAFE to take the medication. If your doctor won’t give you birth control for “moral reasons,” then go to planned parenthood or find a nicer, better doctor.

    I currently have nexplanon, ive been on it for a year and out of no where I started breaking out so much, I got the weight gain I wanted but I want clear skin as well which birth control do you recommend?

      My periods are so irregular im ready to yank this put of my arm!

    • @PandiaHealth
      @PandiaHealth  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Michelle-ie6vh Soo sorry to hear about that. The problem is that the hormone that causes weight gain, also causes bad skin. So you have to pick which is more important to you. You might want to try the shot (that definitely gains weight) and I haven't heard much acne issues with that one. Or you can try the ring or the IUD with hormone and see how you do on those.
      For the irregular bleeding, you can try ibuprofen 600 mg WITH FOOD up to 3 times a day for up to 5 days and see if that helps. And if that doesn't work, then talk to your medical provider and they might add the pill/ring temporarily to see if that helps. and if not, then perhaps time to change.

    Why estrogen builds up and up only with patch, but not other methods that also contain estrogen?

    • @PandiaHealth
      @PandiaHealth  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The pill estrogen goes through your mouth to your stomach and then the rest of your body. The patch estrogen goes through the skin - so different way of getting in.

    What if I am on my 1st week cycle (my patch change days are sundays) and I barely remembered to change it 1.5 days later on 5am on tuesday? That's technically not 2 days since sometimes on a sunday I dont remember to change it till midnight or 3 am at the latest. If I remember good, my earliest I change it is around 8 or 10pm on sunday. Would I still be okay to have my patch change days on a sunday? I rarely forget to do this, this happens like once in a blue moon. Please let me know. Thank you! 💕🙏😭 also I've been on the patch for like 4 years.

    Hey doc I'm 37 and my doctor still thought it was okay to put me on Nuvaring. What do you think about this? I also still have the mini pill here. I know that I mentioned that I was going to go and get the smaller version of the IUD but I'm holding off on that for a bit, since I use a menstrual cup.

    • @PandiaHealth
      @PandiaHealth  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The nuvaring has a lower dose hormone, so you could probably stay on that until you are 50! and now there's annovera which lasts 1 year! If you go on the smaller IUD, know that there is greater risk of monthly bleed. check out our videos on #PeriodsOptional www.pandiahealth.com/periodsoptional

      I just stopped the pill a week ago because I always had light bleeding every single day for more than 6 months. I waited that long because I was told it was breakthrough bleeding and might take 6 months. After I stopped I had very heavy bleeding for 3 days and then finally it stopped all together. Im about to go through Nurx to try the patch or ring. Maybe try non-estrogen pills or the copper IUD. Ive never had it but Ive heard its better.

    • @PandiaHealth
      @PandiaHealth  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can try the IUD with hormone, the implant, the shot, the ring, the pill. The top ones used by doctors for themselves are: the IUD with hormone and the Ring. With the IUD 70% of women stop bleeding and the other 30% get lighter.
