- Dry lawns are finished! Today I want to show you two new tools to help you in the fight against dry lawns. Pro turf managers have used materials similar to this for years to manage localized dry spots and cure hot spots on professional turf. Soil surfactants and wetting agents have many different chemistries and functions. We have chosen chemistry that works in the widest range of soil types. Summer heat and drought conditions will be lessened on your lawn without having to water excessively.
Hydr8 granular is a unique entry into the marketplace and is quickly becoming adopted by the professional turf industry. The use rate is 3-4lbs per thousand for standard apps every 60 days or 10lbs for localized dry spots. The bag options are 10lbs and 40lbs.

I got my first gallon recently, it’s been unusually hot in Texas. We hit 80 in the end of February. I put the liquid down about two weeks ago for the first time. In a week we noticed the difference. Even using other moisture mangers I’ve had some dry spots that burn off. With the little rain and watering once a week the lawn looks great. No dry spots at all yet. If it keeps up I’ll just be moving to twice a week watering but that will be it. Nice product for my clay soil. The water normally runs off, now it appears to be sticking better. Thanks John.
So glad to hear it!!!
Where did you get it from?
How when it’s not available yet?
@@localppc242 from green county fertilizer, I had been waiting and had a pre-order in. I was lucky enough to get one of the first gallons available when the labels printed. I had heard about it on the Professionals forums.
How did you order it
Needed this about 3-4 weeks ago! Lawns in my neighborhood in Maryland are torched now.
I totally need this! I've been battling my backyard drying out every summer for the past 3 years....
Makes a huge difference
Change your lawn grass type. That's your best best.
Ready to try the Hydr8 granular. I'll be watching both Yard Mastery and GCI Turf websites. Subbed and liked! 👍
Welcome!
Good day to all! the clay and rock underneath my central Texas soil are on triple digits temperatures as of now, I don’t have time to be calling inquiring during the work week, who when and where I need to call 😅😅 to purchase. Thank you Mr Perry!! for finally coming out with video, I saw this product last week on your website but, unable to find it or purchase it.
That would be a California summer time weapon. Nice work
Heck yeah, we are about to get cooked later this week.
@@DirtygardenCA where can we get this ?
The heat is killing us in southern Indiana. I need to buy this product now!
Be watching for the online store announcements
BOOM! CANT WAIT TO GIVE THIS A SHOT
Done. Looking forward.
Sweet I can’t wait to use it. Thanks for looking out for the diy. Now bless us with a pinch of that pro grade material. They get all the good stuff. 😂
You’re going to love
My lawn is crying for this 😢 the heat in NC is nuts right now!
Soon enough you’ll be able to grab this
This looks exciting John.
Pretty awesome material.
Looks to be an exciting addition to my program. Also may be really key in reducing how much water I feel like I pour into this lawn. I’m not overwatering, but being able to reduce would be nice. 💦
Hold color longer between irrigation events
Can’t wait to give this a try.
You won’t be disappointed
I can drive down and pick up a skid (50 bags) as soon as it's available, hopefully it's under 2 tons
I can set aside a pallet of 40lb bags for you. We’ve got another load coming in next week
Your lawn looks fantastic and the recovery in those areas are very impressive !
I used the material to recover snow mold as well. It allowed the bentgrass to fill in 2x faster than untreated
Hello from downstream water Riverton Utah. Thumbs up JP
Hey buddy!
I need this! My KBG is stuggling so bad this summer
You’ll coast through
When can this be ordered?
Wish you give a launch date.... perfect time.... first part of july.... js
Please and thank you. 🎉
I can get you the liquid right now, the granular is about 10 days out
Would be interested to see a control patch of grass that only gets water vs water and hydr8 🤔
I have an area
Would this potentially move water from where Large Patch (rhizoctonia solani) fungus sits on the top of the soil? I have some really dense sandy soil and i think the water is sitting up top too long
@@48Onetymer liquid would work better. This would hold some surface moisture.
Wishing I had this already. So much money spent in water trying to keep grass alive
Both are about to be on the yardmastery and GCI websites. We are expected to stock warehouses the week after 4th of July.
Would you say this is good to apply before sod gets laid down? My lawn this year was destroyed from heavy machinery doing pipe repair so it’s basically starting all over again.
I’ve got to get some! I take care of my elderly neighbor’s yard and her sprinkler system is busted. Not sure if it’s a money thing or what but she won’t fix it and I don’t want to be too pushy about it. Something like this will go a long way when we get almost no rain for the rest of the summer.
What’s the difference between Hydr8 and something like Hydretain? I’d rather support your company so I’m going to do Hydr8 for sure but just curious about the major differences.
is this product for purchase if so where and is a link possible
How would you compare this to the locally available Lesco Carbon Pro G? Is it the water retention aspect or the organic input?
If it can do what Hydretain does for less $$ ill give it a try for sure. IN Texas i need all the help i can get
Different mode of action to get to the same result, healthy turf with less water
This is way better than hydretain!
@@TheObserver567 I hope to get to try it out!
How does this Hydr8 product compare to the liquid Hydretain product? Hydretain helped me out tremendously last summer when my neighbors were all browning out and my yard was lush.
Two different modes of action leading to water conservation and more lush green grass in times of drought
Could this product be used as a top dressing for an Over seed?? Looks to me like it might work for that..
Yes amazingly well. I’ll do some vids with it showing germ in cups
@@Lawncology Will it be available to DIY guys in September?
I needed this like yesterday!!! HELP John....hook a brotha up and send me some. Or at least get this out to us fast! lol
Looks like a great product . Is it available for DIY yet ?👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
Both are about to be on the yardmastery and GCI websites. We are expected to stock warehouses the week after 4th of July.
@@Lawncology Thanks brother.👍🏻
Where do I purchase this? I went to the link and there is nowhere listed on the site how I can purchase?
I need this for my Bermuda!! In far west Texas!! Where do we buy!
Be checking back. Yardmastery and GCI turf
How good would this be for seeding/ as a covering for Overseeing?
Excellent
@@Lawncology perfect, I am overseeding the backyard this fall, and I am always looking for alternatives to put over the seed that help retain water, add good material to the soil, but also don’t introduce weed seeds.
@@ahastar1141 this is a great option
@@Lawncology I can’t wait to get my hands on some!
When and where can order this stuff?
@@HangryPandaMike next week yardmastery.com
@@Lawncology sweet deal. Can't wait
JP, I'd love to get granular product down when I do my 10k sqft reseed this fall. Would you recommend or is this just dry spots?
It’s perfect for seeding
@@Lawncology what's the shelf life? Also ballpark on sqft a 40lb bag will cover? Thanks!
@@THEakaZeroTime 40lb bag on standard rate will do 10k feet. I’d say for seeding you may want to double that. Roll the bag and keep it dry, it’ll last a long time.
Will this be available to ship to Oregon?
Yes
What about using this when overseeding??
Yes and yes and yes again
@@Lawncology so reading between the lines I assume ur answer is yes??
Where do you buy?
Yardmastery.com
Where can a home owner buy from. Thanks
Both are about to be on the yardmastery and GCI websites. We are expected to stock warehouses the week after 4th of July.
Do you have a link for this product?
I’ll post a link next week when it hits the storea
How can purchase this product. I didn't see an option to purchase this own the site?
Both are about to be on the yardmastery and GCI websites. We are expected to stock warehouses the week after 4th of July.
Hey how different is this from Hydretain????
@@mr.dcfitted8713 Hydretain is a different mode of action that doesn’t bond to soil particles. Its main feature is water attraction during dew events or keeping moisture near the surface of the soil. Polymers have a binding effect and longer life in the soil profile allowing for water to move deeper and more easily giving roots a better change at water utilization in hard to wet soils
Thank you
Would this replace or compliment hydretain?
Different modes of action that can work together or independently
@@Lawncology Please explain. What's the difference between hydretain and your product? How are they similar? How are they different? Help me spend my money. Why yours over theirs?
@@JamieWardHD Hydretain is primarily a humectant designed to rewet atmospherically. It’s a sugar alcohol compound that attracts water very well.
A co-block polymer has the ability to move water through the soil profile and attach “heads” to soil particles to attract water. This allows for movement of water and greater root usage.
I see Hydretain like a lid for moisture. It keeps moisture from moving up and out.
Where can I purchase Hydr8 granular and liquid?
Both are about to be on the yardmastery and GCI websites. We are expected to stock warehouses the week after 4th of July.
What’s the price on the different packages?
Prices will post here in the next week or so for DIY pro pricing is available for the bulk sized material
@@Lawncology - thanks, I am in the DIY group ;)
John, will this be available for Oregon customers? I noticed that I can not buy a 4x1 gallon mix and match anymore due to not shipping to Oregon. What changed there? Just Oregon things?
Oregon is a difficult state these days but yes, this is fine
when are you going to sell for DIY customers
Next week
How can I get it
What kind of sprinkler head is that at 3:20??

Is this animal safe? Concerned about some of my rogue chickens eating this stuff.
It looks like a break through product!
Pretty awesome
@@Lawncology My guess is there's a good chance this will be your number one selling product in the line in a year or two. We just visited SLC, Dino Natl Monument and Flaming Gorge on the Green River, Utah is so beautiful. Cheers
@@matthodel946 Dino is cool huh? I go out there every 2 weeks or so to off road. Vernal is one of my favorite places
@@Lawncology Yes, Dino was awesome, looks great for MTB too. Now I understand the SXS action. I live in Denver, the Green River is epic and remote. Utah does an amazing job with signage regarding geological formations. I thought that was so cool. I was BLOWN away with the Kennecott mine and refinery. Whoa!
I can use 5 bags of 40 lb where do I get it
60k feet. Also where can I find the liquid
Let’s get you some. Shoot me an email.

Where can I buy Hydr8?
its being shipped into fulfillment centers now. yardmastery.com and gciturf.com
@@Lawncology they still don’t have the product available online. Do you know when they’ll add it on their site?
How much is these products?
Cheaper than Hydretain and cover more ground

Is this a product that will be available through Yard mastery? If not please tell me how you buy I’m very interested in this for seeding time! Love Greene County products you guys rock

I want to see your yard with an application of a pound of N. I'm kinda afraid you'll be mowing twice a day
Maybe I’ll do that this year
Is this better than fourplay
The product is impossible to get. Cant buy online, cant find a store that sells it. The company, you cant talk to anyone and no calls are returned. Seems like a great product if you could only buy it.
I would imagine if you called the office you would get an answer. So far everyone who’s reached out to me directly has had their questions answered
@@Lawncology as per my comment I called office several times. All you can do is leave a VM. No one returns calls.

Is this replacing hydratein?
Different mode of action and could even be used on an alternating schedule
Shaking my head. Homeowners and DIY people do not need this. Water, water and water. That is all that's necessary in the summer. 3/4" of water a week is what is helping this lawn survive the heat.
Water water water is fine for people without expensive water bills. Going over the allotment here results in a minimum of 100.00 asditional
@@Lawncology Water or co-polymer? I'm using water from my tap every time. Adding a product that makes claims that "Dry lawns are Finished" is just not honest. Watering your lawn is what is keeping your lawn from drying up.
@@somosdiaz lol. Yes of course you need to water. This is for those stubborn hot spots or for those looking to conserve.
Baby shampoo. Fraction of the cost.
does not hold water, just relieves surface tension of water.
