I was thinking about getting the same thing but was worried that it would suck in hot air rather than cold air. This was until I realized that the extra hot air sucked into the turbo won't be a difference as long as you have an upgraded intercooler to absorb some of that added heat coming from the turbo. So in the end the less restrictive filter (allowing more air to enter the turbo efficiently) will always be a positive outcome as long as the extra heat is taken cared of with that upgraded intercooler. Good video and keep up that work. Definitely need to get one when I get my intercooler upgrade.
So I have a 2018 X4 m40i f26 think this will work🤔on it? And I would like to hear it with the hood open have someone sit in the car and give it a few revs. Thank u ☺️

Don’t stop the good work man. Don’t know anything about this car. How reliable could you say those car are. Are they considered more expensive in maintenance then a e46?
That filter is doing your nice car a HUGE DISSERVICE, by allowing it to suck up hot air from the engine bay, especially with a turbo under the hood. Thats why the original filter was housed in its own airbox, poor advice to recommend that kind of filter, i have taken your advice before by purchasing the Avant 4 headunit, good decision and no regrets but that filter is a terrible design and would only work if it had a hood scoop like the Subarus which would look silly on a BMW.
Hood scoop on subarus is for the intercooler because it is top mounted, not for air intake. With turbo cars it is more important to have better air flow than cooler temps, because the air is going to be heated up by the turbo, but then cooled by the intercooler. If you were running a stock intercooler, and put an intake right next to the engine so it would suck in super hot air then yes you may hurt performance. But the intercooler was recently upgraded and the bottom of the air box is still there so that temps are not super high and cool air is still routed from front of car, resulting in better performance.
The problem with that is that you are putting hot air in by having the air duct open
One question can you put the plastic cap back on to prevent it from sucking hot air?

Which is correct OEM air box is it. Just change the filter to the upgraded one. But keep the oem closed box.

Does it matter if I installed the actual blue intake part upside down so I can’t see the tighten clamp?
Torque for the clamps? Please
I do have another question for you if you don’t mind. I want to put a new exhaust tip on my car, which one would you recommend?
Also, how do I find out what engine I have?
You what just tips? Also a vin decoder can tell your engine. What car is it?
Evan Goyuk 2002 530i. I don’t want loud so I thought a tip would do.
Wish I could send you a pic
Can u do this to a 2013
Yes
Excellent mod
Love the videos bud. I have a 2002 530 I, which cold air intake would you recommend
Dinan or the BMW m performance intake. These are the only intake actually worth it for the m54 any other one will hurt performance

200$ is too much for some plastic and air filter
It’s so worth it
