I probably went the most expensive route and bought a petrol pro combi but it makes jobs so much easier! I have the Husqvarna 535LK & several attachments which were pricey but worth every penny!
Great video. Just found your channel and subscribed. I received rotary scissors for Christmas and I’m anxious to use them one my Bermuda. I have 2800 square feet and hoping they will help me scalp the low spots in the yard.
If you ever need more power from your Ego equipment, simply using a bigger battery will give it a power boost. I have the small 2.5Ah battery that comes with the trimmer an I use it for all my equipment (I have almost everything Ego makes), however, sometimes the 2.5Ah battery struggles on the lawnmower if the grass is too tall or wet. I’ve used the bigger 5.0Ah battery and noticed a huge improvement in torque. In fact, some of the Ego lawnmowers and the chainsaw have a turbo boost that’s only possible with the 5.0 or 7.5Ah batteries.
Hi, I’m waiting for my rotary head to arrive, been told I need a certain brush cutter to attach it to, you used some snazzy adapter instead, where did you get them from ?
How would these do for chain link fencing? What would be the best method for it? I moved in to my new house shortly. Use these? String trimmer? Round Up? Rock bed?
michigan0207 a string trimmer will be the most forgiving option around a chain link fence. If you are good with doing a swath of Round Up every 3 wks at the base of your fence and you do a solid job trimming you should have a good barrier away from the fence created. Its always easier to keep up with the trimming to make it look good versus doing it once of 2-3 weeks.
only the shaft of multi head 'string trimmer would work? the shaft of the ego edger won't work? I have been looking for this info, but I cannot find any :-S
Wayne Essar I did not consider the 11inch blade. However, I have not been that worried about the weight of the Head. I keep my yard extremely short so I lay the Head on the ground when trimming. That really addressing any weight concerns on my end.
It will def do a number on them over time. But, they are designed for it and I haven't had a problem yet. I likely won't work them near as hard edging as I did during this demo. I really wanted to check out the battery life.
I want to ask you a big favor, could you zoom in on the grass cut, I want to know y it makes a clean cut like a reel mower, that way it doesn't damage the lawn the same way a normal trimmer does! I like all the benefits it gives you, but that factor is a game changer
Luis, I apologize for being late to respond to this. The primary factor in why it makes a clean cut is the scissor action. This tool has two pieces of medal coming together (scissor action) to cut each blade. This provides a cleaner cut, and therefore does less damage to the leaf blade. A regular trimmer rips the blade which does more damage to the leaf blade.
My main issue with the battery powered equipment is how long (in months/years ) will the batteries last without loosing strength and time of use. If I have to replace battery packs each year or even every 2 years, it’s not worth it with the price per pack 😒
I'll be interested to see the long term performance of these batteries. I'm with ya. But, I have been overly impressed so far. I did not think the Ego system would perform as well as it has.
ReelBob Shady I will try to keep a eye on your channel for a update at the end of the year and the beginning of next year after they have aged a little before I commit. I have impact drills I have to buy battery for now because of failing battery packs😒
I’ve had Ego tools going on 3 years now. When brush cutting grass around a row of trees I’d get around 40 trees done on a 2.5 amp hour battery with an out of the box battery. I’m still cutting grass around that many trees now. Ego batteries apparently have a fairly advanced battery management system that will manage the charge for maximum battery life. Cutting timber with a battery powered chainsaw really drains a battery.
Isnt the pandemic of the grass stained shoe going to keep going with that light colored shoe? Why not switch to a charcoal or black or heck even a grass green shoe?
ha ha, yeah. Well these shoes are made to be washed off with a hose. So you can keep those bad boys clean after every mow. They'll be dry in a matter of minutes.
Haha. Yes, every tom dick and Harry is out in the yard all of a sudden. Funny stuff. I gotta get some rotary scissors when the budget allows of course.
$250+ is a bit much. Extremely loud and requires lots of maintenance as well as assembly and to scrap a trimmer shaft. I could see if it were available on a shaft already and cheaper if bought separately. Really like it though.
@@SuperTA329 My place is a farm so I do not care about lawn edges. I have around 1000 trees in an orchard I'm trying to keep the grass down around them. Most people say spray the grass with herbicides. I'm not keen on this and would rather cut the grass than spray. Right now I'm cutting the grass with a brush cutter blade powered by the Ego multi tool head. Its scary work as the fast spinning blade can jump if it hits the ground and could damage or kill a valuable tree. I'm hoping this rotocut attachment will make cutting long grass around the trees a bit easier and less nerve wracking.
@@kdegraa I see your safety concern. Ego makes great tools. Would be sweet if they offered some rotary scissors but probably would not be a big enough market for it. Just lawn nerds like me. 🤣
Using mine on a 40V 4.0Ah RYOBI and it probably lasted me less than 30 minutes - think there’s something wrong w my battery coz it was down to 1 bar out of the box new (not a good indication for a Li-Ion battery)… I had HEAVY growth… as in, can’t-find-where-the-dirt-meets-the-pavement growth. Had been on vacation. Should do a video on how this thing cuts through overgrowth.
😂🤣 leave my New Balance alone
Maurice Williams ha ha Sorry Maurice you gotta get that addressed!
Did you upgrade to the larger diameter blades , or keep the standard blades?
I can't be a REAL dad without my cargo shorts and grass stained New Balances!
I had the same adjustment problem. I just drilled a new hole for the screw, and it works just fine.
Subscribed for the sense of humor!

Am I the only dad who has never owned the NB 408?! HA! I would rock those shoes you pointed out, great review man!
Grab some brother. They are amazing. I bought 4 pair ha ha.
Nice job, I thought the rotary scissors were already the next level! 😳
Fo sho brother. I wish I had them ages ago.
ReelBob Shady putting them on the Ego seems like a natural fit! 👍🏼
Do you miw with a reel mower or
Rotary?

Steven, are you asked about what power head I used? Or are you asking about the specific shaft adapter?
ReelBob Shady the specific shaft adapter
How can l order one? Please post the phone number or address.
Volt yellow nikes. The reel dad shoe.
ha ha. I'll allow it!

How do you sharp it?
I wish this. Come with handle o readdy
Will it cut weeds?
3.22 you just skipped, I was hoping to see that part, where you insert the shim (which shim goes in EGO), and altering the handle?
Just subscribed. Brett made me! 😉
Thanks man! That Brett is an OK guy I guess.
ReelBob Shady Definitely!
Nice vid 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks man!
I wonder how those power scissors would do trimming tall cut grass compared to a normal string trimmer
I used them in areas where I have some tall grass. It cuts very well. I have some heavy clumping grass I use it on at the lake.
☀️ Cool tool! Does the sand/dirt dull the blades or cutting ability? ☀️ 👟

I wonder if that would work with my Milwaukee trimmer...
If you have a detachable head then there is a good chance. It comes with an assortment of internal drive shaft adapters.
Ok, it's not the detachable head unit. I would definitely like to try out the rotary scissors
Ryan knorr uses the Milwaukee power head with the rotary scissors..
I liked it twice. PS you need to grow a mullet

Ego now sells the Rotocut attachment. It’s not cheap but looks to be a quality piece of attachment.
@@kdegraa That would not work well for giving lawn edges a precision cut. I do see the value in it for cutting down overgrown brush areas though.
