I FIXED this MATH PET by looking at it

  • This Casio Math Pet was bought "untested" from eBay. It has a weird fault where it comes on, but the game doesn't start and the screen is scrambled (apart from the clock, for some reason)
    Let's fix it!
    Hope you enjoy!
    Steve

It also helps holding the thing while measuring..

I’ve fixed so many digital watches and calculators just by warming them up and playing with them. A night in the airing cupboard does wonders. I think a lot of things like this get left in cold and damp conditions. Get them warmed up and dried out.

You should get yourself one, either a 50 pound analog one from ebay or go a bit more expensive with a digital one that you can hook up to a computer for recording.
Just make sure that if you buy one from ebay that there is a trace on the screen.
