A Car Ride around Burry Port Carmarthenshire 27/03/2014

Another one of my rides around Burry Port by car done specifically for the 'Memories of Burry Port' Facebook Page, and was captured back in March before the floral displays were brought in. In the first part I take the same route as my previous video taken in 1989.

It looks a little bare compared to how it looks now Dave, but worth making a record of it, and driving around in the car, enables a great deal of the Town to be capture for future generations...Bob

These drives are a wonderful idea Bob as you are preserving a snapshot in time which you can imagine being extremely interesting to future generations as well as todays

Thanks Austin, I uploaded one very similar to the first part of this one which was captured in 1989, and the viewers really enjoyed it as it was then, so hopefully, when we're long gone, these videos will bring pleasure to those generations...Regards...Bob

Hi Bob, I was just thinking this would be very interesting to compare with the other one you did from back in the 80s. Perhaps the cars aren't so interesting now (although a Vauxhall Firenza Spotshatch is that at 1:40?!), and there's rather more speed bumps, but nice to see it seems to be doing well.

Hello Andrei, I've seen split screen comparisons done in the past, but that's beyond me. The 1989 version has been very popular and many recognising their own cars in it....Too many bumps for a small town.....Best wishes...Bob

Thanks Ken, the camera rest of a rubber backed piece of material that is designed to put on Tables, and the camera is also covered with a piece which is taped to the dashboard with strong Gaffa Tape....make sure the viewfinder/screen and controls are still accessible....the results are impressive...Regards...Bob

Remember from visits the film does show many interesting events from history ie .Amelia Earhart 1st to fly across the Atlantic,landing at Burry Port.

My daughter and her little family have rented a house there for a few days if she had seen this she could have saved herself a few quid and stayed home what a grim place

Sorry to hear that, there's a beautiful Harbour, sandy beaches, the Country Park and plenty of nice walks...Still it's not possible to please everyone.
