Swansea is the best city I have ever lived in by miles . I have been to over 9 countries and lived however Swansea is special city ! (lived for 11 years in Swansea ). To see those pictures in this video of Swansea back 50 years before I have arrived is amazing , especially high street because I used to work in a shop as customer service for 5 years . I won’t forget Swansea for the rest of my life .

What an insight into the past. Swansea somehow looks better in the earlier days with far more to offer. Shame how most of the historical buildings have fallen.
Quite a few taken down by the Council, including the first reinforced concrete building in Europe, not to forget the Mumbles train, which was the first passenger train in the world.
@@MOGGS1942 that reinforced one by docks not far from Wine Street where my grandparents lived..shame the so called planners didnt rebuild better quality like the Germans did in certain cities, Castle Gardens 1960 i remember & St Marys Church & Slip Beach & old bridge over the road ..Swansea got hit bad but hardly gets a mention makes me angry has done for years Cymru am bth didn't know it was first passenger train it still ran till when? think i may have seen later model train on way to Blackpill area..where motor boats to ride around inland lake ..
That’s a wide sweeping statement you made there mate about Swansea like most cities we have problems these days I have seen it all over the world have done a lot of travelling in my time I can tell you most of the heroin addicts, have problems and the pissheads, are employed ones who have money to burn! And jobs the unemployed are easy targets !
We hear and see so much about the bombing in Germany during the war. It is good to see that they weren't the only ones who have rebuilt better and stronger since then! Great video!

It's incredible how much character Swansea had before the war. It's a shame that we lost so many wonderful buildings, areas and people.
