Gameplay: The constant threat of losing energy and losing your coin streak makes it so that you must keep pressing the button or clicking at all times. This mechanic is terribly designed as it forces the player to do a repetitive, boring, and strenuous task over and over just to play the game. Other games such as cookie clicker reward the player for their initial labors by then allowing the player to automate the task and earn coins without having to click so much, the player can focus on other things like upgrades. In Button Pop, the upgrades are exorbitantly expensive and necessary to beat the easiest of levels on normal difficulty. This necessitates that you keep pressing that button at all times. I don't hate this game at all, and I rather like the concept of a clicker tower defense, but this main mechanic has to be fixed in order for me to find this game enjoyable. MY FINGERS NEED A BREAK!!!
Art: Nice visuals, though the clouds did confuse me a bit since they were just grey boxes. I think the UI is also a bit over the top and not tight enough.
Sound: The constant popping of the button is nice in the beginning but does get a little tiring for me. I also found the incoming enemy music to be way too disconcerting.
Story: don't break the streak if you want to live
Overall: I'm aware that the game is coming out in a week, so there probably isn't much you can do to remedy this, but I would just implore you to lower the cost of just about everything (especially the amount of coins needed to increase your level) and cut away the dead time between waves to as short as possible. I think it's awesome you were able to complete this massive 2 year effort and ship a game, I look forward to seeing what you make in the future!
