It is a bit of a hidden gem! They are having a special bike show this Sunday (16th) and I'll be there! Some of those old bikes are a part of my youth... It's not far from the Adventure Bike shop as well at Acton.

What a wonderful mutter and T T T motorcycle s I have got to go there ....looks great .Speedy Working Motors ...built in Italy on the shore s of Lake Maggiore....Chinese motors ..the gold cafe racer s are brilliant......their off road stuff is excellent as well the red Benelli is a 502 the roadster ......that black and gold Ducati 900ss is possibly the best looking bike ever made .
My God TAYM, I am littrally drooling. Out of all the bikes the Suzuki Bandit caught my eye as did the X11 by the door. Either will do, next time you go, try and sneak one of `em out in yer pocket. I`m sure they won`t mind, I might even dip my hands in my wallet. Memories from a place like this are Marvellous, what a choice we had, and most were affordable then, mind you I did notice the prices here. Obvs. everyone has to make a living but, well, who`d have thought, the amount of fizzers we wrecked, on our rec-reation ground, hooning around, oh if I knew then what I know now? Good clip Mr. Taym, keeps me really interested, like these looks back into my distant -(very)- pastlyour efforts are appreciated.

Yep, it's a great place and one of my favourite destinations. The road from there through the Hedinghams and onwards to Wethersfield a d Finchingfield in Essex is absolutely marvellous. I'd happily show you around, I think you'd enjoy the scene at Finchingfield.

Busy weekend coming up. Triumph open day at Lings on Saturday, then off to Gt Yarmouth for the 1st anniversary of Superbike Warehouse. Then meet a mate in Norwich for a gig. Stay overnight then back to Washbrook for the Copdock Bike Show charity ride to TTT Motorcycles. Not forgetting Stonham on Thursday night. Did you see my sons ‘naughty’ scrambler 900 at Stonham last week? I think everyone heard it.
Yes, will be at Lings in the afternoon and then hopefully to TTT for the Classic bike show on Sunday 😁 Stonham was a bit disappointing. They’ve changed the set up and food 😕 might get used to it😊
@@TAYM Yes Stonham had a very different feel. Probably as most were indoors. Turnout was less than I expected, but Krazy Horse late nights started on the same evening.
What a brilliant place - Sudbury is a real jaunt for me, sadly, although I used to go there to the Lucas factory when I worked in Head Hunting!! Pretty town but Lavenam is something else! Great ride out thanks!!
Morning Mr TAYM, marvellous walk round. I believe that particular Matchless G80 used a Rotax 500 air cooled engine. They didn’t sell in very large numbers. Nice to see all the RD’s too, as you know, I have a soft spot for them. I really liked the Blue 400, which, if I ever won the lotto, I would buy in a heartbeat. Thanks for taking us round 👍

Marvellous Mr TAYM! You never cease to amaze me. You are not familiar with SWM. They are Italian and are equipped with high end components. They were once Husqvarna before it moved to Austria. They are bikes mostly built for dual purpose and especially for the dirt. They are a real bargain compared to Japanese or even other brands. The perform really well would be well worth a test ride to give you a chance to gauge just how Marvellous they really are! PS- Sudbury in Canada is located in Northern Ontario and is famous for its nickel and copper mines, not motorbikes but the stuff some of their parts are made from!

My RE Classic 500, Ricochet, sits far too many days feeling lonely in my garage awaiting something Marvellous. You and Mrs TAYM might like the adventure. Riding season here in Waterloo Ontario Canada runs from May to October. On the “ season shoulders” it can be cold,wet, snowy, icy or just plain miserable But, still Marvellous. Until later…

Lots of memories in that place, fantastic collection of bikes. I remember a poster my brother had back in the 70’s don’t know if anyone else can recall it. It was a Kawasaki concept Bike think it was something like the MRD1, stats said it had a turbo would do 150mph or maybe that was hp think it was in green and purple. I’m sure if it had ever been produced it wouldn’t quite have been like the poster but regardless of that I wouldn’t have been able to afford it anyway.
Got the Southward Museum in Levin 95mins away & got a vast collection of bikes & cars including a Gangster car owned by a Mafia boss in the 3O's.Has bulletproof windows a matchbox thick bomb proof floor & has been shipped to America to Hollywood for Movies.I went as a kid & they hundreds of bikes but I know they did sell some a few years back. Might be worth a ride one day but be up early spend all day in their.Had a Mercedes Gullwing too as you walk in.
Mr. TAYM, don't go with cash in hand there, you will not be able to resist.. Or take Mrs. TAYM with you there to stop you on time 😂😂😂😂😂 .. This is easy few hours lost in there, just like you said - Kid in candy shop 🤣🤣

Some wonderful classic bikes. I had a black and gold 900SS back in 1987, cost me £2,200. I believe TTT want £40,000 for their one!! Great bike but not that good.😂
Incredible ! , what an unusual place, all those classics lined up for sale in one place ! they must hold half the stock of some models on sale in the whole country ! Those SWM are an old Italian brand re made with a Chinese engine ... now defunct in this country , some are on sale for very cheap prices if you look hard .
@@TAYM I was really taken with the red and silver "silver vase" model when they first came out about 10 years ago, but in the end the Chinese engine put me off ( I've had a lot of experience of Chinese made engines !) It was based on an old twin port Honda design (440cc). I then saw some brand new old stock ones for sale years later at a massive reduction ( £2895 if I remember rightly) The dealers had been stuck with them for years . They did bring out a more modern "adventure" style bike later on but they didn't sell well either. I know you are curious about the Benelli bikes ... I won't comment as it your choice at the end of the day and there is so much to say on the subject , but personally I would not go there for a multitude of reasons, especially as a winter bike.

SWM are the Italian mob who were building Husqvarnas ( when they were red black and white ). When KTM bought the name SWM kept producing the same bikes in a slightly different colour and at about half the cost lol.
How much was the Dalek? That was a long way from home. That being, Skaro (also known as D5-Gamma-Z-Alpha) located "in the next universe but one. Huge mileage whatever way you look at it.

@TAYM the roads to Finchingfield are incredibly twisty and the place is beautiful and yes! There are a couple of cafes and a pub to get food. Weekends are the best time to go. Give it a try mate you have to!!!.
@@TAYM Benelli TRK 502 be great winter bike & they make good tourqe compared to the KLX etc.They do 2up & cruise along & 115-120kmh with 2 not to bad for a 500.Benelli have brought out the TRK 800 but only the 800 Scrambler on sale here at the moment in NZ 🇳🇿 but be new & new price.TRK 502 been out a few years so second hand one's be around.Step up from a Himmy for not that much more & get alot on it.
@@TAYM SWM are Italian bikes made in Italy in the old Husqvarna factory in Lambreda but using Chinese motors from Shineray. Are pretty good quality for the price & the Silver Vase 440cc is a SWM too. Sell cheap second hand & their Adv bikes are good.

Lots of memories in that place, fantastic collection of bikes. I remember a poster my brother had back in the 70’s don’t know if anyone else can recall it. It was a Kawasaki concept Bike think it was something like the MRD1, stats said it had a turbo would do 150mph or maybe that was hp think it was in green and purple. I’m sure if it had ever been produced it wouldn’t quite have been like the poster but regardless of that I wouldn’t have been able to afford it anyway.

Got the Southward Museum in Levin 95mins away & got a vast collection of bikes & cars including a Gangster car owned by a Mafia boss in the 3O's.Has bulletproof windows a matchbox thick bomb proof floor & has been shipped to America to Hollywood for Movies.I went as a kid & they hundreds of bikes but I know they did sell some a few years back.
Might be worth a ride one day but be up early spend all day in their.Had a Mercedes Gullwing too as you walk in.

Some wonderful classic bikes. I had a black and gold 900SS back in 1987, cost me £2,200. I believe TTT want £40,000 for their one!! Great bike but not that good.😂

Finchingfield is very picturesque. One of the places used for scenes in the TV program Lovejoy. And they have a windmill.

Don’t know if there are any regular meets there (the locals probably wouldn’t take to that!)…it’s more of a “destination” where bikers go I think.

Those SWM are an old Italian brand re made with a Chinese engine ... now defunct in this country , some are on sale for
very cheap prices if you look hard .

@@TAYM I was really taken with the red and silver "silver vase" model when they first came out about 10 years ago, but in the end the Chinese engine put me off ( I've had a lot of experience of Chinese made engines !) It was based on an old twin port Honda design (440cc). I then saw some brand new old stock ones for sale years later at a massive reduction ( £2895 if I remember rightly) The dealers had been stuck with them for years . They did bring out a more modern "adventure" style bike later on but they didn't sell well either. I know you are curious about the Benelli bikes ... I won't comment as it your choice at the end
of the day and there is so much to say on the subject , but personally I would not go there for a multitude of reasons, especially as a winter bike.

SWM are the Italian mob who were building Husqvarnas ( when they were red black and white ). When KTM bought the name SWM kept producing the same bikes in a slightly different colour and at about half the cost lol.

@TAYM the roads to Finchingfield are incredibly twisty and the place is beautiful and yes! There are a couple of cafes and a pub to get food. Weekends are the best time to go. Give it a try mate you have to!!!.

@@TAYM Benelli TRK 502 be great winter bike & they make good tourqe compared to the KLX etc.They do 2up & cruise along & 115-120kmh with 2 not to bad for a 500.Benelli have brought out the TRK 800 but only the 800 Scrambler on sale here at the moment in NZ 🇳🇿 but be new & new price.TRK 502 been out a few years so second hand one's be around.Step up from a Himmy for not that much more & get alot on it.

@@TAYM SWM make ADV bikes,road bikes & are reasonably priced bikes they sell them here in NZ 🇳🇿 but they're not a big company.
@@TAYM SWM are Italian bikes made in Italy in the old Husqvarna factory in Lambreda but using Chinese motors from Shineray.
Are pretty good quality for the price & the Silver Vase 440cc is a SWM too.
Sell cheap second hand & their Adv bikes are good.
