  • There was a lot of very small sand corn in this LUMIX DMC-TZ110, so it was really a shame that all the small plastic gear wheel's was worn out. The lens assembly need's to be exchange.

    It was annoying to have a good camera, but then a piece of sand can lead to a total damage so easily. Thank you for the video! I have the error message for the zoom lens, won't work anymore in any way, so I can just guess it is blocked, but then again it might be i open this up and then it still won't work.

    Unbelievable to see the complexity of construction of the tz 110. My tz 100 needs a cleaning inside. But as I saw your precision work and think I will postpone this. I don't dare yet.
    Thanks very much

    I was struck dumb with respect by your ability to do this and struck even dumber by the technology that had to be thought out,created and then manufactured to produce such a wondrous machine !

    Damn that looked fiddly, but well done for getting as far as you did.
    It's good to get a look inside a camera like that..thank you!

    I watch a lot of instructional videos on TH-cam. Very well done! You were very thorough. I just bought a new ZS200 and I always do a lot of research. I hope I never have to do this - LOL. Thank you.

    Amazing patience and precision! Very interesting! Thank you. We have the same problem, but it is quite intimidating. If your success was 100%, perhaps we might invest a day into tinkering, but we are far from your knowledge, precision and even the toolset. Great!

    Thank you for this! I have grit in my lens and panasonic wants the cost of a new camera to clean it. I will give this a try.

    Great video thank you. I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ200 which suddenly will not switch on, I have tried new batteries but nothing works. Can I bring it to you in Denmark or send it to you? Thanks.

    hello, 1 / once you had the back of the barrel away, you should remove and clean all mechanical internal parts. Use a small ultrasonic cleaner.
    2 / after mounting at 55:00 min you should test the functionality by connecting a 1.5V AAA cell to the motor . Otherwise nice. JS

    Very instructional video, but above my skill level. Wrote an email to Leica, the manufacturer of the lens, whether the Lux-C has a different lens in terms of partical issues. Let's see what they will say. Honestly, I expected more from a LEICA lens...

    Great guide! Unfortunately I had an even worse problem with sand where the lens wouldn’t move at all and had to replace the whole lens assembly.

      @@insanity7498 I found it on AliExpress, though it was nearly the price of a brand new one so in retrospect it was probably not worth it.

    how nice to see you work! I have a problem, I can not unscrew the loading lever bush of a Zenit E. It is hard and I tried them all, wd40, heated with the hair dryer, disassembled the winding spool to access from below but nothing. I should clean the prism because it has a stain in the middle. Do you have any idea how to do it? Thank you and sorry the google translator.
    P.S. I know I have to go clockwise to unscrew it

    Good work, bud shame to leica.This product is not good and have a short live if you use it often. Dust is going in to the lens and the picture
    quality slowly declines. As in this video you can clean the sensor but when the dust is inside the lens barrow then it is not possible to clean it. Dust is comming in when you zoom to the maximum range. Take the max garantie if you want to buy this product.

    Hi.. terrific video! I got the lens working smoother, but got an error on startup of an autofocus error, and the lens wouldn't close when I turned it off. I suspect I didn't do a great job on one or two of the flex cable attachments. Can you tell me which ones are likely to result in the problems?
    Thanks!

    • @mikeno62
      @mikeno62  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it depence what camera it is, some are more fragile with the back flex cable, but the way those lens assembly are made, with the very thin plastic and also the very small plastic pins inside the lens assembly, simply makes the camera a little fragile when hitting a table or fall on the floor, no matter what camera brand.

    Would it be possible to remove a small speck of dust from inside the zooming part of the lens without full disassembly? It's between the most outer lens, and the inner one, so not on the part that's facing the sensor. I tried tapping the camera's body, but the speck won't budge.

    When I shake my tz100 I hear something moving inside. Is this normal? Can It be the stabilize mechanism?

    Hi mike thanks for the video, did you have any luck with the camera after the video? I have the same issue and I'm contemplating my options? I'm guessing a new lens assembly will be the same price as the camera!?

    • @mikeno62
      @mikeno62  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no (0) luck with this camera, and I would guess that it will be the almost same price for a spare lens block as to buy a new camera (maybe I'm wrong)

    • @skinnerooony
      @skinnerooony 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I purchased the service manual (and used you video for reference). I took the lens assembly apart, possible but certainly not recommended! After hours of work I had no luck. I think it's very poorly sealed for a 'Travel camera' @@mikeno62
