    Very good information here.👌 I get asked about CO2 quite regularly, but I find people need to concentrate first on the VPD then the CO2 can & will make a difference. I see a lot of growers not putting enough emphasis on temperature, humidity and air movement. These need to be dialed in order for nutrients, lights, CO2 and all the other extras to do their jobs properly. Again great info here and keep it coming✌

      I 100% agree with you. Work on managing the stress on the plant before you decide to add more factors into your grow room.

    I moved my 8x8 flowering tent over to my window where i have a 5000btu window ac unit.. cut a nice square hole to fit the ac into the tent.. works perfectly and co2 stays leveled out .. i use a 50lb tank in my flowering tent 1200 ppm

    If you have dogs and other animals in your home like me, co2 can get pretty high in my bedroom where my 4x4 and 5x5 veg tents are..

    I’ve herd so many people bashing co2 bags idc if you think your meter is the best or not, I hung 1 co2 exhale bag above my circulation fan so the co2 being heavier falls down and goes all over my plants , it 100% works and it lasts 365 days , there was a clear boost to cloriphile and made my plants a deep dark green bud sites nice and tight I have a 3x3x72 it works it’s organic and is amazing I also have a carbon filter the bag is right next to my door, don’t matter still see serious improvement took the bag out to see same seeds in next run lot slower growth , not as dense nugs, over all weaker grow, buy a bag, hang above the fan that circulates the air, I noticed better deeper greens with temps at 75* as opposed to 68-70* F range idk if heat has something to do with co2 abpvalibility in the air but I know moister sticks around better in higher temps so maybe the co2 molecules bond to the water droplets in humidifier, idk exhale bags work great would recommend everyone a bag, and I can care less what people on videos claim how an extractor sucks it out or opening the door sucks it out, listen co2 molecules move around ur meter can read it high some where and low another place they move, I hang above the fan it falls on fan and circulates directly at my plants the stigmata’s gobblenthat shit up hands down , works for my tent title work for yours save more buy an exhale bag and stop watching videos that say they don’t work and buy their products fuck the system fuckanyone saying ur grows suck and they so much better a grower than you, do what you want it’s ur plants, also music being played helps plants grow too, birds know this and they sing to trees

    When you set up a CO2 bucket throw in a AirStone and an aquarium heater and as well, not having your sugar/yeast mixture constantly warm will slow down or stop the fermentation process producing less or no CO2 it should last around 30 days and at the peak of output you can average around 2,000 PPM in a 4 by 4

    • @TriStateTrichomes
      @TriStateTrichomes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had kept my mixture at 78 to 85. I did not have an airstone and would just shake the entire mixture multiple times a day since i was always in and out of the room. my 4 day limit was with 1 pound of sugar i believe. This was 9 years ago so the details are a little fuzzy i will admit.

  • @Slipperypuffin

    15 galon keg, 10 gallons distilled water, 14lb sugar 1-2 table spoons /one 5g packet will do of really any yeast (lalvin D-47 is good, slow steady CO2 stays around 1200ppm after the first week, lasts a month or so. I added in some yeast nutes too

    • @TriStateTrichomes
      @TriStateTrichomes  ปีที่แล้ว

      A full month?! I can't remember my exact mixture it's been so many years but my 5 gal mix was a solid 3 days and then hardly anything would bubble up and out. Horribly ineffective. A month doesn't sound too bad though. What space was this used in?

    • @Slipperypuffin
      @Slipperypuffin ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TriStateTrichomes Yep, the key I found was to have a small amount of yeast with a ton of sugar, making a slower, more consistent release of CO2. In a 28"x28" tent that exhausts out the top it keeps the levels nice, piped it in with 1/4 tubing to fall on the top of the canopy. On small scale it's fairly efficient. A small heating matt under it with a timer can also help produce more CO2 during lights on

    • @TriStateTrichomes
      @TriStateTrichomes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Slipperypuffin I dont believe i used much sugar. It was some ratio i found on a forum back in the old days of growing. But this sounds like a pretty good alternative for smaller tents or closet grows. Assuming you have the space outside of the area for a 15 gallon bucket. Maybe a small trach can.

    I took grandma’s oxygen machine (an extra one) I hooked a hose to the exhaust bringing co2 and nitrogen into a grow tent. I purchased two c02 meters and the outcome of my experiment I was not getting to 1000 ppm the highest was like 900. Living room averages 600.
    I decided it was not worth it & unhooked it. My garden stays open so unable to keep c02 high ppm.

    • @TriStateTrichomes
      @TriStateTrichomes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. What was your reasoning for using a co2/nitrogen mix? I know nitrogen in the air is triple bonded making it difficult and energy intensive for plants to use. I also admittedly don't study up on this topic and don't have a deep understanding of the process.

    • @tommyheron464
      @tommyheron464 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need just CO2. The N does nothing and makes up most of the mixture and cost.

  • @bruceolga3644

    Plants switch input/output during the night cycle... during the day they consume cO2, night they invert to oxygen...one reason huemans would get tired...less oxygen.....

    Are you saying don't run exhaust fans/ducting in tents? Do you realize that would be close to impossible in the deep south with high humidity. mine have to run 24/7, if not the tent would be 75%+ humidty

    • @TriStateTrichomes
      @TriStateTrichomes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm only saying if you're running Co2 that exhausting isn't ideal and if I were to run co2 in a tent I wouldn't exhaust. I would put a small dehumidifier inside of the grow space to help.

    • @TriStateTrichomes
      @TriStateTrichomes  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Tech Overkill humidity should be based on your temps, so you can hit the correct VPD.

    • @rfemail1515
      @rfemail1515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. IMHO: Sealed room is definitely way to go if you want to maintain co2 at certain levels. Must be done with proper dehumidifier unit. Follow the VPD chart. You should also aim for different values during day and night cycle. Keep your light PPFD:CO2 PPM at 1:1 ratio if going above 1000 PPFD during the day or around 1400-1600 ppm. Not so during the night. You need to stop supply them with co2 before night or kick on the vent and bumb the air out since plants are sleeping and photosynthesis is not going. Do that to let your plants rest before another long day of work :) Also the humidity level can vary. It always depends on your strain. Some strain need higher humidity even in 6th 7th week of flowering during the day to let them show their colours. Again not so during the night cycle as u may risk a bud rot. U always want to hit that 1 point VPD to let them open pores and breathe that carbon dioxide. But I think that both factors humidity and temp needs to be maintain the level what you want. Sorry for my english :) Tri State Trichomes u r making great videos. I always find something helpful. Keep rollin' and take care man. :)

      My ppm was 320 in my grow tent and 360 in my lun room before an Exhale bag. The bag was activated 10 days before i bought it. After the bag Ppm is 885 in the tent and 790 in my lun room. I do use my 6" exhaust fan (have to for heat) and open tent vent with fan in front. The vent inside the tent is deflected down away from plants. Tower oscillating fan. In the corner and Exhale bag hanging above the fan and behind. My lun room is a 16' X 16' insulated and sealed with industrial vent fan spa room finished in cedar. I live in extreme southern Illinois with massive humidity so my room has a 12k btu window ac and 4500 Sq ft dehumidifier. Just to keep my 4x4 tent under 80° fahrenheit.
