Merry Christmas Eve 2024. I made these two days ago, they chilled overnight and I baked them last night. Oh my gosh, I seriously think I'm ready to open up a bakery selling just these. They are to die for. I have family coming over tomorrow and they will be so impressed and will probably want to leave with any leftovers. Thank you SO much Sam. Another winner! 😋
I make these cookies every Christmas, love them and they are a big hit with my neighbour (mayor of our small town in Northern Alberta, Canada). I make a variety of cookies for Christmas and give a platter to my neighbour. Thanks for sharing! 🇨🇦
Have made MANY of your cookies for this Holiday!.THANK You for delicious recipes and instruction! Do you have a version of this recipe that could be for Lemon Crinkle Cookies?
I'm so glad you've enjoyed everything so much! While I don't have a lemon crinkle cookie, I do have these lemon cookies. :) sugarspunrun.com/lemon-cookies/
I like the weight measurements as well, I also have the kitchen aid cordless mixer, it’s a game changer, over a year ago and going strong, I use it A lot too
My wife enjoys your channel and the tips and tricks you give on things she also thinks you have a striking resemblance to Blake Lively she'll definitely be making these this Christmas Holidays Great job all the best with the channel and God's blessings this season around👍🙏
I love chocolate crinkles! I make them every Christmas, and I add a bit of espresso powder as well. Looking forward to trying your recipe! And I love the festive addition of the Hershey kisses❤
I'm going through menopause, makes me crave chocolate, definitely will make these today, thank you. 😋🤪😉 Yes, I also buy baking soda without it, and I make homemade deodorant, cause it's in most too. God bless, love from Kentucky. ☺️💖🙏🏻✝️
I was raised on chocolate crinkle cookies. But the best ones I ever had were from a coworker and she used melted chocolate chips in her recipe. She gave me the recipe and I lost it but there is one like it on Pinterest. They are the best I’ve ever had
Chocolate crinkles are a true classic. My mother used to make the recipe from the classic Betty Crocker Cookey book back in the ... erm... 60s and 70s. I will have to try the SSR version, and see if it is the best :-)
Back in high school My teacher had us putting chocolate on crackers that sounded kinda salty and nasty have you ever tried that before sugar spun? 🍘🍫 It also had peanut butter in it .
Hi Sam, how long will the white powdered sugar stay white once the cookies have finished cooking. Are there any tips to keeping them white and not go soft on standing. I love your recipes.
The only time I ever have the white disappear even somewhat is if I make them on super humid days in the summer, I’ve personally never had them lose the sugar if made in the winter.
It defniityelly needs some love. Mine has the same problem, I am more likely to make things by hand, or with the hand mixer, just because cleanup is easier.
What if you can't buy unsalted butter? As in that's literally not an option. This year and last year there has been a ton of yummy looking recipes that we can't do because regular unsalted butter is not something we can buy from our Aldi's. Never have I ever heard someone mention aluminum free baking powder, as if companies are adding a dash of aluminum sprinkles into their baking powder.
Good question! Any recipe that calls for unsalted butter can be made using salted butter, you just need to alter the amount of salt in the recipe. I figure 1/4 tsp of salt per stick (1/2 cup) of butter. This recipe uses 12 Tablespoons or 1 1/2 sticks of butter, which is a little trickier, but if I were using salted butter I would only use 1/2 teaspoon or even a scant 1/2 teaspoon of salt. I hope that helps! I have done a writeup on this on my blog previously, too: sugarspunrun.com/salted-or-unsalted-butter-substitutions/
If you want more eggs this winter, maybe you should let your chickens live inside the house with you for the next four moths. That should solve your problem! 😉
@@SugarSpunRunMy dad told me once when I was a young fellow that anything I could imagine has probably been done by someone somewhere. So, I can totally believe that some people keep their chickens inside their homes. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
It always makes me laugh when you edit the slow motion shot of your stand mixer in your videos. :D Do you ever use your stand mixer anymore? I'm trying to use mine more to make things easier but I thought there may be a reason why you're not using it...too vigorous of mixing maybe??
🤣🤣 I do use it off camera. Typically not for things that require gentle mixing (cakes, cupcakes, and other more delicate desserts) but I would certainly use it for cookies. 😊
Made these and brought to family Christmas dinner. Everyone was raving about them! Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome! I’m glad they were such a hit!
I made your cookies this past weekend. Everyone who tasted them are raving about them. Thank you!!
You’re so welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed them! 😊

We have lights in our chicken coop it helps with the egg production.
I have thought about it. I just haven't been prepared to add another task to my husband's list. 🤣
Could I use special dark cocoa powder? I just made your inside out chocolate chip cookies and was wondering the same.
I really want to try these! Can I replace the butter with coconut oil?
Can you freeze this batter?
I think that should work. :)
How many cookies does this recipe yield?
36 😊
@@SugarSpunRun Oh Okay. Thank you!
Looks delicious. I think I’ll start making my own vanilla extract. Can I find the recipe on your website?
Put vanilla beans in strong alcohol (vodka, bourbon, grain...) and wait a year :-)
You can see my website for amounts and instructions. 😊
Hi, Sam. I'm looking forward to adding these to my Christmas cookie lineup. Do you think black cocoa powder would work in this recipe?
Back in high school My teacher had us putting chocolate on crackers that sounded kinda salty and nasty have you ever tried that before sugar spun? 🍘🍫 It also had peanut butter in it .

What brand of baking powder do you use? I would appreciate if you would let me know. Thanks 🙏 for all you do.
Rumford. I recommend using aluminum free and this is one ingredient I never buy generic.
@ thanks, I had no idea. I will switch.
I wanna use what's in my pantry can i use regular unsweetened cocoa
That's what I used :)
What's wrong with my cookies? They ended up dry and didn't flatten
Shout out to the lonely stand mixer 😢
It defniityelly needs some love. Mine has the same problem, I am more likely to make things by hand, or with the hand mixer, just because cleanup is easier.
😂
I tried one time and I had trouble picking them.

Whenever I see recipes asking for unsalted butter I just used regular butter.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have seen people who actually do that! They are really gross birds. They just poop everywhere
