    I have 3 Socokin 3S Lipo Batteries except they are 6200mah 80c.
    I've only ever bought cheaper batteries off Amazon or eBay and these are the best. Great batteries. I've never timed them but run time is probably close to 20 minutes. Very pleased with them.
    Amazon has the right now for $25 a piece or 2 for $49 if anyone is interested.
    Great video, always enjoy.

    I've had 4 ovonic batteries for about a year now. 2x 2200mah 2s and 2x 6200mah 2s, all still working great. Use them in my crawlers and short course trucks. They were under $40 for 2 on Amazon. Fantastic deals. Great videos, 👍

    We have had good luck with the ovonic in our crawlers. We got a used power wing when we bought our rigs. It has done well too.

    Thank you so much for your review, it was exactly what I wanted to see, since I am moving from Nitro to electric, I still had some questions regarding batteries, your video is a good starting point as to what to get while I get more experienced with LiPo tech.

    Thanks for sharing. On Amazon searching for Socokin 2S & 3S as of now. Brought 3 Zee 2S 5200mah 100c a few days ago to make a cheap 6S 100c for $50 which can also be used as 2S or 4S.

    Thank you yes helps a lot. I am going to purchase a battery in this same category soon. I only wish you would have included the Zeee brand. I have 5200 80c zeee and I think it does good. My first car was the senton 3s blx v2 and it was bad for going into low voltage shut off when the battery was at about a storage charge. Horizon sent me a new esc now it gets to about 3.5 per cell. My new big rock does the same on that same zeee battery. God reviews thanks again.

    Great helpful video and I just ordered the Vortek. Question do you have any idea what’s the highest C rating the truck can handle? Thanks

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there!
      There is no max c-rating. It works the other way. The ESC pulls the voltage from the battery - the battery only provides whatever the ESC is asking for.

  • @bobboberton1841
    @bobboberton1841 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have 2 SOCOKIN 3S 120C 6600mah and happy with them. I just ordered 2 more today. I have also used Zeee, and like those fine, but they don't seem to have as much punch or run time compared to the SOCOKIN I have. However that is not scientific at all and can't complain about either.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have performed well for me over the years!

  • @joseCalderon1976
    @joseCalderon1976 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good stuff. I calibrate my ESC on my vehicles and double check that the LVC is working correctly. I don't just run my rigs and wonder why my battery didn't last long, or if it got discharged too much by the factory settings. That's just me though. I've destroyed too many batteries by not double checking. Cheap batteries are OK for bashing, but not speed runs. You need very good batteries for those high speed on road runs. 👍

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The issue with early LVC on these truck is not how they were calibrated or the changeable LVC setting. It is in the core programming of the LVC logic.

    Not sure if you had noticed, and I'm not sure if it would have made a difference, but on the first speed run, you ran the RC from left to right. All the rest went from right to left. If the road has a slight incline, that might have made a difference in the 55mph. Would have also like to of seen the forth battery with that jump be redone, just to see if the jump affected the 55mph speed. In both cases of the 55mph speed test, the test was slightly off.
    And just as I had mentioned in one of your prior videos, the c rating is not regulated, so it makes sense as to why you'd get some 50c lipos that will give you no voltage drop over some 80c that will give you a voltage drop. All about the quality of the lipo. I personally have only ever run stock and Zee lipos. Overall, nice video.
    Also very surprising to see the similar run times between the 6000 & 8000mAh lipos.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the detailed comment.
      I actually did the speed run both ways, 2x each. But, didn't show it on the video since it would be boring.

    Good job on your comparison Troy👍🏻. I’ve had good luck with GoldBat for my slashes and Ovonic in my TRX4. But the ERevo loves the China Hobby Lines They all seam to work fine compared to the ones from the lhs. Traxxas batteries by far are the worst ones in my experience. They puff way to fast lol.

    Thanks for the test. I’ve always wanted to know if the C rating is spot on by testing acceleration test much like equivalent of quarter mile or 0-60 type of test except you do them at full 4.2v and at say 4v and again at 3.8v. That will tell if one battery has more measurable punch compared to others.

    Thank you for the video. The vorteks suggest a hard case battery. I don't plan to do any jumping just running in fields at daughter softball tournaments so would a soft case be a bad idea

    I have the vorteks, I get about 10 minutes on 50% running up/down my road on a lectron pro 3s 11.1v 5200 50C stock pinion, possibly few more minutes if I don't punch/push it. Thinking of getting a 2s 50c or higher to possibly get more run time and less wreckage (lol). I What kind of tired do you have on your vorteks?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello!
      Thanks for the comment.
      A 2S battery will not give you a longer run time. You would need more "mah". You said you have a 5200mah. Find a battery that fits that has a larger number.
      The tires on my Vorteks are from Pro-line. I tested them here: th-cam.com/video/6xzW6pqvqCg/w-d-xo.html
