Loved this one, Serge. Still got a long way to go but I added publishing the color and width variables to the rectangle and solid line. Love it! Thank you!
Serge, this is a terrific tutorial that was easy to follow and execute. I purchased Motion 5 after viewing your post, followed your step by step directions to the letter and had no trouble creating the split screen. I subscribed to your channel and hope more Motion tutorials are in the near future. Thank you for putting this out. Five stars!!
Extremely good tutorial! I’ve had Motion for a long time, but couldn’t figure out how to use it. Now, I can follow your tutorial and get some hands-on experience with Motion. Thanks!
Cool tutorial man, Such an awesome piece of software. Love Apple Motion 💯 Cant understand how people who own a Mac don't use it. Tooo Awesome for the price
Excellent video, Serge. I could replicate the same process but I am having issues with audio synch when applying videos to the drop zones. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?!
Very nice, as usual. I installed your LITE version and noticed an error on the install screen. USER NAME > HOME > MOVIES > MOTION TEMPLATES > TITLES Should be Generators I have an interesting challenge though that maybe you can think about in the PRO version. I need to placed synced clips in these drop zones. I will have up to 4 (maybe more...) music video clips that are synced to a WAV file using the "sync all" capability in FCP. This uses the room music in the video clip to sync with the quality mixed version so I don't have to try to manually match lips to words. None of the clips start at the same point, so I cannot use a drop zone to drop in the individual clips - they won't be in sync. Any suggestions? Maybe I'll ask in Patreon.
You said in the video that if I don't have Motion, then I can use your Lite version. But I downloaded the Lite version, and it does not work in FinalCut. So that means I need to buy Motion?
Amazing tutorial, I'm wondering if there's a way on making this plugin for premiere pro using after effects. I would love to be able to make this, specially the "drop zone" feature is great.
Great tutorial ! The first time I tried following your steps, everything worked fine. Now, when I wanted to make another version I can't add the pan and scale controls. I am unable to do the step you describe at 5:06. When I click the "To" drop down menu nothing happens. Do you have any idea why? Hope you can help . Thanks!
I was having the exact same issue. I'm not sure why it happens, but I was able to get it to appear by clicking on the "Clear" button to clear the drop zone. Then the "to..." menu should work. Hope it doest he trick!
Nice tutorial Serge, you can be the Ryan Nangle for Motion. I learnt so much from him and some from your videos. But couldn't find much resources when it comes to motion
Super helpful video! Thanks so much! Could you also share how you made the transition within the split screen at 9:54? What do you call that effect? I've been looking for a way to do that on FCPX for months already! Would really appreciate your help. :D
You’re comparing apples to oranges. Motion is an app, where Motion VFX are just plugins. If you’re willing to invest the time in learning Motion, than it’s a hands down winner. But you will have to put a lot of time into it. If you’re just looking for a specific effect, one of Motion VFX’s plugins would be much quicker and easier.
Fantastic! Man I need a plug like this, but for 20 screens or more, to make the videos of a band with controls to divide the screens in different sizes, to make a very dynamic video, Ex: in some parts there are 4 musicians, in another 8 or 12 appear, then the entire band and so on. Is the procedure the same or not to make it so customizable?
Thank you, Serge, for the split screen tutorial and plugin. I guess, in your download page there is a small mistake: the plugin should be placed not in the titles folder, but in the generators folder, just as you say in the video.

Happy to help!
great tutorial!! i copied every step but i still could not get the border line to show, only the divide line? still looks good but any ideas why?
A really nice tutorial. Straightforward and complete. Thanks.
Thanks very useful. I use motion a lot and have done for 15 years but self taught
I don’t use motion nearly enough. If you have any tips, or better ways of doing what I did, I’d love to hear them

Hiya, gotta agree with @Mama so easy to follow thank you
Great video serge and thanks for reading the comments and listening too! Look forward to the plugin when it’s ready - let us know!
Thanks for watching my video Daniel. Hoping to be done with the plugin in a couple weeks or so!
I did all this, can't get any audio on my video files when they are in split screen though
5:05 why did I click but Drop Zone pop up was not appear? Please help
Same here. Did you figure it out?
Thanks Serge, I was able to create the plugin.
I've already thought about Motion 5. You convinced me to buy 😉💰
Hi, the videos selected in the drop zones will convert to an image. Any ideas as for why this happens?
Fantastic tutorial!
This is perfect! Thank you! Keep up the great work!
Have a better day!

Hey Serge, at 5:05 I can NOT select dropzone when I hit that "to v". Nothing happens. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here bro?

@@Scottpie47 Thank you, I'll save that in case I try it again. 🖖
Thanks,Serge
As always, appreciate you coming back every month!
PS, say Happy Birthday to Hailey for me!

A newbie question; can you recommend which would be the best purchase 1. Motion or 2. MotionVFX (package)? Thank you Serge

Serge M thanks so much
Can you do a video about making an audio visualizer in final cut or motion?
I can look into that for sure

The basics are the same. Just add more drop zones and adjust the mask size
@@Serge1913 thanks!

Thanks for catching that. I'll fix it ASAP
Thanks for that, just managed to create my first generator! Is your lite one the same as the one you created in the tutorial?
It's very similar, but also includes a 3 clip and 4 clip split screens!
@@Serge1913 Great, I think I will try and create one myself to practice
