I carry a knife for self defense first & EDC cutting tasks second. I've carried the S.O.G. Seal XR as my EDC for a year now & I have nothing but great thing's to say about this knife. Quick deployment , skull crusher pommel & a solid lock. What's not to love? For me , I'll choose the S.O.G. all day !!
I have both and they’re both awesome. The SOG is much easier to close and made in the USA. Both great quality, CS a little cheaper, so, both great choices.
Joining my brethren here. AD10 is my EDC. I'm constantly outside. Stopped carrying a fixed blade since I have this one. Yes, I actually do everything I did with my fixed blade. Even batoning. Still take my khukri if I'm going to do some chopping, but that's it.
I actually didn't know that you're a preacher Kevin. I've seen a lot of your videos, and I don't recall you mentioning it before. Anyway, I really like both of these knives. I do agree that Cold Steel is making a mistake by changing so many of their folders from hollow to flat. I have a flat ground Lawman, and I wish I could still get a hollow. Its also the reason I have not bought the AD10 yet. It is actually cheaper to do a Hollow primary, because you can machine both sides at the same time (so Im told)
I have the AD10 and recon one I love the looks of the SEAL but field striping is complicated the cold steel not, that said that is the last of the cold steel knives for me as when Lynn Thomas sold Cold Steel the company has gone downhill to where I cannot trust their knives, they don’t even honor the lifetime warranty that’s a nice were sold your customer service is useless and people don’t even know what knives are everyone at Cold Steel got fired, this has nothing to do with the old Cold Steel‘s they are great knives I have nine of them. I just purchased the Spyderco Manix two extra large and I think it’s almost up there with the A.D.10 but surpasses the SOG and it’s more pocketable, I don’t think the Lock is a strong as the triad Lock, But when I’m camping I always have a fixed blade knife with me. Before you order a cold steel look at some or the reviews if you want a wobbly shotty knive with no warranty get the new old steel Lynn Thomas what have you done! .
With you having “God bless” at the end of your videos made me wonder if you were a Christian. But you saying that you’re a preacher and talking about bible verses tells me that you are. 👍🏾👍🏾
One question about the ad 10. In France I usually saw it at much more than 200 euros (taxes and delivery costs included). This morning I realized that on two well known sites I can buy it at 179 euros (taxes and delivery included). I find it pretty odd. Are there plans to discontinue this wonderful knife ?
Cold Steel is definitely the stronger blade, I like the clip point on that Sog but not enough to rely on it over the CS. Sog has stepped it up a bit but they need to continue to step it up if they wanna compete with CS and Tops, etc.. the Sog Pillar fixed Blade is pretty awesome, they should run with those types of blades and come out with a Bigger Pillar though, like one with a 6.5" or 7" inch blade & a fuller handle scales. Just my opinion though.

1st time hard using my AD10 this morning after having it for 2 years. Making breakfast, cutting tomatoes and onions. This is my BFF knife.
I own a 4max. SOG might get my money if they upscaled theirs to 4" blade

There's no comparison. The SOG is a military tool/weapon and the AD10 is a bush-craft/hunting knife😒

AD10 is a work horse and if you want a bigger beast get the 4Max scout(easier on the wallet).

Isn't the AD10 made in Taiwan?
Is the clip on the AD unusable like the SR1?
I used needle nose pliers to buff the clip out a tiny bit; took 30 seconds and now it’s perfect. I also added a snaggletooth deployment hook
