I always wonder why whenever a 2t22 or 3t22 sounds, behind the two high-pitch siren tones, you can make out much quieter lower tones that sort-of harmonize with the high pitch tones.
That is because of the rotor design! The 2t22/3t22 has its 12 port rotor with 4 large vanes going all the way to the center, while the rest are much shorter. The 10 port rotor has 5 smaller vanes and 5 large ones going all the way to the center. Those lower tones u are hearing are the undertones from those larger vanes. U are hearing a "4 port" sound from the 12 port, and a "5 port" sound from the 10 port!
3t22A refers to the motor phase, not whether it has a screen or not. Most models will come with screens if not all. 3t22A means three phase motor, 3t22B is single phase. That goes for most federal signal sirens.

@@WVSP1the XT22 isn’t an actual siren, it’s just a term used to describe a siren when it isn’t known whether it’s a 3T or a 2T
I LOVE 3T22'S DOING HI LO!!
Sweet! what video editing software did you use?
Sounds like the bottom intake is slightly blocked. Sad that is doesnt do hi lo anymore.
That looks like a 3T22A because it has a screen on the 3T22's top damper part stator.

the siren no longer does hi lo?
@@SaltLakeSirens i wonder why it did hi lo then and why its a 3T22 instead of a 2T22 if they dont have use for the dampers for alternating tones
@@SaltLakeSirens so it does have a problem other then a malfunctioning hi solenoid/damper?
