The Bissell upright 2x series carpet cleaners are amazing. Surpassing the cleaning I thought you could get from a household upright. Tackling even impossible stains you would swear are hopeless. If you spray the stains a few times first and leave it a few hours so it loosens and reconstitutes it. The dual brushes and suction of the cleaner work like magic. The secret is in the emulsification of the stain substance and then suctioning it away with the foaming liquid.

Where u impressed with this carpet cleaner
Yes. I felt like it was very easy to use and did a good job. The only con would be that the dirty water tank holds less than clean water tank, so you find yourself stopping multiple times to empty one, then again to fill the other. I can live with that though.

Out of all the review and tutorial videos I had to scour through, this one was by and far the best and most helpful. Really appreciate you being so thorough when you explained how to use the upholstery kit, that was basically all I was needing!

This was an excellent review. I'd watched a few before this one, and yours was really the best. You explained everything very clearly and concisely and noted every technical detail such as making sure the unit is in standing mode before using the upholstery tool to protect carpet. Surely the best structured, most articulate and well planned demonstration I can recall seeing. Full credit to you. I have an earlier (say 10yrs old Bissell Pro Heat 2X) that works well for 10mins and then stops delivering the water, I have had it apart and cleaned so often I have lost count, it works for about 10 mins after clearing the jets and the delivery lines then clog again. = JUNK imo. Seems to me a poorly designed tool.
I am keen to see if this tool new works well after repeated usage and what your maintenance routine is.

We ordered thsis unit on amazon, and hope it will do a good job. I plan to keep it well cleaned and get the carpet as clean as possible, then maintain it ever 2 months on the fast cycle.

I’ve owned this vacuum for over 4 years and I’ve been too intimidated to use it. Watched your video just now and I’ll be confidently using my vacuum for the first time today.
PS. I’ve never used any steam cleaner before so none of it was common sense to me and it’s not being used for the first time today, it’s being used by *me* for the first time today! I married an incredible man who has used it many times but your tutorial was far more comprehensible than his well intentioned attempts to show me how it works 🙃 thank you!

I purchased an extra clean water tank so i can immediately rinse the area with clean water.
And, also purchased a mounting tray for the underneath that serves as a brush roll cleaner as well!
I really love this machine so far!

I liked watching this as it was informative and dealt with all the questions i had for it . I wasnt that impressed with the sofa cleaning though. I dont feel the step cleaner head worked on your sofa cushions but i could see why you wanted to show us .

@@eyang7 I have only cleaned three carpets and one rug with mine so far. It is a great machine and as long as it does not break down will pay for itself very quickly. The Bissell carpet shampoo is very expensive and use a cheaper alternative. I am happy with mine. It has a limited 6 year warranty, whatever that means, but I reckon a warranty with Bissell will cover breakage due to poor manufacturing and is worth something. :-)

FANTASTIC DEMONSTRATION Russell ! When YOU USE the SMALL HAND TOOLS for COUCH or STAIRS, is it the SAME IDEA as CLEANING the FLOOR CARPET. TRIGGER PRESSED for SOAP, NO TRIGGER for SUCTION of WATER ?
It is. The suction is constant and the trigger on the hose dispenses the water. :-)

A Good review here. I Just purchased one after watching this video. It will replace my rug doctor which blew up last week. From experience with the R’Doc I Wouldn’t worry about going too slow. Slower the better. I found The slower the pass the drier the carpet was left. The lounge is about 35Sq mtrs and took around 45 mins to do with 7/8 tanks of water. It also cleaned much better at a slow pace. Interested to see how the Bissell compares to the R’Doc, the R’Doc was very clumpy but worked well during ownership. Hopefully the bissell will be on par or better than it

Thanks for the review and in particular for going over the hand attachments in detail because others aren't covering that in any meaningful way. Particularly as I'm thinking about saving £50 and buying the non-pet version which basically only has the stain brush and I want to be sure I've got an attachment that's suitable for doing the stairs. How do you find this model on stairs? - and which of the 3 attachments do you find works best?

I do not have any stairs to clean. The best tool in my opinion is the Tough Stain Remover, the brush on the bottom is more efficient when cleaning small stains or larger areas. This tool could also be used for stairs if you used a brush to scrub the inside angle. :-)

The instruction manual says to cover 12 inches per second, so you were definitely doing this extremely slower, hence the considerable water consumption for the small area you covered. Granted, different carpets and level of filth, stains, etc. will require adjustments to that rule.

It dried overnight. I used a heater to warm up the room for a couple of hours and then left it overnight. Make sure you spend a few extra minutes vacuuming up the excess water when you have finished washing it. 🙂
