80S.. Musical creativity at its best. OMD one of the finest Sybth/pop bands of all time. Andrew George McClucky one of the great showman ..Still think OMD were underated back in the 80s.. I was so lucky to grow up then with 80s music.
This is an amazing song from an amazing band. Brings forth tears. The 80’ was such an amazing time.his voice has not aged one second. Love from Denmark
I love the look on Paul's face around the 1:56 mark when Andy goes dancing past him. And that Andy doesn't let the fact that he has an entire orchestra behind him stop him from dancing as he usually does.
Mate they are thee best synth band of the 80s period...no our band has a great a catalogue of tracks as these guys ..and they're still going strong performing. .sheer class.
The only problem is whilst the 80s past by, we are now left with great memories, and can look back and know we really were blessed to have such incredible musicians, all sharing their incredible music with us. OMD were very successful, the only problem is there was so much of it everywhere. It was a magical era.
I play this more than any other song - it lifts me up & sets me gently down.... I am transported back to happy times & my memories will stay with me for ever
Wow! An outstanding performance to a brilliant song.. That's made my day/month/whatever year! I havnt heard this tune in ages until tonight.. I'm 51 and almost forgot about OMD.. Hats off!
This song is older than me by a couple of years; I didn't discover it until just a couple of years ago, and saw it live for the first time this past September. Almost cried. "Maid of Orleans" live is always nothing short of amazing.
Listen, I know this song is older but I get goose bumps when I hear it always. I figure when I am 90 , i will feel the same. Knowing this , makes me feel ok with aging
Grew up with them, still my musical heroes. I'd like to see any current group from the last few years pull this off THIS good. They don't have the songs, the energy, nor the depth. I've met Paul and Andy, both decent guys with real passion. Just simply brilliant.
had the 12" of this when it came out, and it was great, but this! What a performance!! Shivers down my spine the whole time, and I find myself applauding at the end with my headphones on whilst others here in the kitchen wonder what on earth I'm watching. Something truly fantastic, that's what! Thank you for uploading this treasure, and thank you OMD
Oh what a night class a piece of art ..... beautiful performed... the dance is amazing I watch this video of maid of Orleans from year to year all I can say is it gets better thanks for sharing the Joan of Arc 😋😍😙
hahaha Joan of Arc it's a fine piece of art. ..Life is beautiful for me to burn was a lesson to learn how beautiful life really is always and forever Joan of Arc 🕀 and let the music play🔊🎶🎵
One thing I've always love about OMD, and I've seen them at so many gigs, is the fact that Andy just dances around going mental and poor Paul is there trying to concentrate on playing the right keys on the keyboard! These guys are the top banana!!!
Simply THE Song of my life. I have no idea, how many thousands times I heard it meanwile. Fantasic Version, musicians and voice! When Andy dances this way, you can feel the passion of OMD.
Jees that was fantastic -I'm surprised Andy didn't burn out with all that energetic dancing -he seemed ecstatic there. Great backing with that orchestra.
I love this song, love this band, adore this performance! Simply wonderful. I saw them live last sunday, that was a great gig as well, but nothing beats night of the proms.
Watched them last night for the second time in three years in Toronto ... spectacular voice and for the better part, they have their instruments tuned to the exact sound of the original era ... tough to do with new synths considering the original synths they recorded Architecture and Morality are +30 years old analogue.
Absolutely love OMD and have done since the 80's; however, David Byrne of Talking Heads (also a quality band) has the title the top geeky frontman. Check out TH Slippery People
Truly one of the most iconic songs of all time!
Enola Gay trumps it!
OMD, U2 & Simple Minds, I miss my youth so much but this song took me back to carefree times 🥳🕺🤪
80S.. Musical creativity at its best. OMD one of the finest Sybth/pop bands of all time. Andrew George McClucky one of the great showman ..Still think OMD were underated back in the 80s.. I was so lucky to grow up then with 80s music.
THE BEST 👍
Wow, this has got to be the BEST version of Maid of Orleans I've ever heard!
It's brilliant
It's brilliant 😍
Yes
Good musician vibe
It's great, but choir and full orchestra drown out the distinctive thundering drums that make this song so special.
Bloody bloody bloody brilliant, 30 years on and live. It don't get better than this
This is an amazing song from an amazing band. Brings forth tears. The 80’ was such an amazing time.his voice has not aged one second. Love from Denmark

Can’t stop playing this, gives me goosebumps every time 🙂
Snap
Bet I've watched this 20 times today...very uplifting.
Me neither
Andy is the man, he’s passionate, he’s powerful and a clever songwriter
You should have seen them 40 years ago ... he "tripped the light fantastic". What a dancer! He is 52 there and still doing this thing. Fabulous!
Absolutely amazing, most underrated group of the 80s in my opinion.
Ha ha ha I was about to post the same
completely underrated
I agree they were underrated but awesome all the same.
Mate they are thee best synth band of the 80s period...no our band has a great a catalogue of tracks as these guys ..and they're still going strong performing. .sheer class.

My neighbours are listening to this very loudly.
I hope they like it....
Masterpiece. Best song ever. Not a lot of singers have this much presence on stage, Except for Elvis & Freddie.
Well said
I play this more than any other song - it lifts me up & sets me gently down.... I am transported back to happy times & my memories will stay with me for ever
I love the way he dances! Absolutly authentic , no Show , only pure Emotion ond Music!

I have loved this song ever since the 80s and still do. Great performance of a great band
A fantastic song, and this performance was entertainment at its best, please don`t retire.
Joan of Arc (Maid of Orleans) is WAY the best Orchestral Pop-Song EVER made! :-) Even after now 36 Years, nothing comes even close.
Is it that long ago?
@@markyoung8545 I'm so old, but yep.
Vienna..Ultravox.
Wow! An outstanding performance to a brilliant song.. That's made my day/month/whatever year! I havnt heard this tune in ages until tonight.. I'm 51 and almost forgot about OMD.. Hats off!

This was my favourite OMD song - they were also my favourite '80's band
These guys had/have more talent in their little finger(s) than the rest of the so called mega bands have in their entire bodies.
So damn true!!!
You can’t diss Depeche Mode like that!!! 😂
Grew up with them, still my musical heroes. I'd like to see any current group from the last few years pull this off THIS good. They don't have the songs, the energy, nor the depth. I've met Paul and Andy, both decent guys with real passion. Just simply brilliant.

This is seriously an amazing performance, pure passion. I’m speechless. Respect from Denmark.
A true classic, it just does not fade
The tune and the lyrics are sublime. Andy's singing hasn't aged ☺️

Epic stuff. If I had that on the headphones, I could climb Scafell in a blizzard.
Wonderful to hear a superb orchestra play one of my favourites.
What a great voice Andy has. And a Great dancer as well
He was never embarrassed about his dancing :-)

One of the best songs to come out of the 80s. It has never failed to move me.
A Timeless Classic! Surely a 12 minute extended version is a must. Absolutely outstanding.
15 x dont like?
OK
For me one of the greatest songs in pop history!
TOO TRUE! The dislikers must be totally tone deaf and without any soul or rhythm
One thing I've always love about OMD, and I've seen them at so many gigs, is the fact that Andy just dances around going mental and poor Paul is there trying to concentrate on playing the right keys on the keyboard! These guys are the top banana!!!
Superb! He always was a good dancer, too...
Now that is brilliant !!!!!! A classic still. Great version. Send shivers though me still

Andrews voice is better than it was 35 years ago!!! Amazing.
First saw OMD in 82 and Andy was doing this dance then.
Seen these back in the day supporting Gary Numan at Newcastle city hall ,Happy Days
Epic talent never fades 🎶....... what a song it really gets inside you.... almost majestic 😊
Andy is the most uncool, geeky frontman in pop history. And that's why he's so fin great.
Absolutely love OMD and have done since the 80's; however, David Byrne of Talking Heads (also a quality band) has the title the top geeky frontman. Check out TH Slippery People
Whisky Galore imho DB looks like Jim Morrison compared to Andy.
tigerboy1966 b
Chris Martin - Coldplay appears to be in the same geeky mould...
Love this song. Great tribute to Joan of Ark ✝️🙏✝️
Absolutely stunning brilliant
