- Welcome to our doll shop! We have two projects in this video. The first is an awesome "Kestner Bru" Antique German Bisque Child doll in a beautiful trunk, and the second is a 1955 Madame Alexander Cissy doll with a collection of amazing fashions straight out of the catalog. It is hard to pick a favorite outfit but we want to know what is YOUR favorite of the bunch? Thanks for tuning in!

More about Cissy Clothing: The doll’s flamboyant matching shoes and hats were legendary. Cissy was a trendsetter in fashion; from classic suits and coats to casual peddle pushers and sandals. People even collected the ads picturing her newest outfits. All year long, collectors waited for the newest fabulous fashions. She had formal dresses of chiffon and satin, including a special coronation dress. Beachwear like you would see on affluent ladies at the beach, and elegant evening wear such as one might see at the opera. Her cotton dresses were known for the wide, wide skirts- no skimping on the material here. The skirts stood out with the help of the exquisite bouffant slips often trimmed with yards of net and lace.

2 weeks ago I was at an estate sale....2 houses on the property, one house was full of Dolls from all decades the women I guess used to sell and collect....Well on the last day of the sale it was stuff-a-bag for $5.00...I got a few dolls that Ideal Company made back in the day and few older ones as well...it was an epic sale...I thought I share that estate adventure with you.

Rachel, WOW, I so LOVE that Cissy Madame Alexander Doll and her wardrobe is so glamorous😀😀💖💖 !!!! And You, Rachel look so gorgeous in your red gown as well😀😀💝💝💯💯!! My Mom also would LOVE that Cissy Doll and her favorites would be Dress 1 and Dress 2 as much as your Dress because my Mom's favorite color is red💝💝💖💖 😀😀!! However, my favorite Dresses of Cissy's are Dress 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8😀😀😀😀💝💝💙💗💖!! I so LOVE that turquoise dress, white dress with flowers, and the hot pink dress as much as the red gown and the red coat with navy blue pok a dots😀😀!! And tonight is Friday Night, so I had Dinner with my Boyfriend and his Dad and we all had Steak Sandwiches with fried onions plus mushrooms (No Cheese on my Steak Sandwich because I am lactose intolerant). I can't believe how pristine that Cissy and her clothes are. Just like new! Takes me back to my childhood, admiring Madame Alexander dolls at the department store, but knowing they were for rich children, not ordinary girls!

I've chosen ALL the dresses as my favorite! As you showed each outfit, I audibly gasped and said "oh, I love this one!" Only to repeat myself with the next one shown. My goodness, I could not have your job. I would sit and play and never sell a thing!

MA doll clothing was, and still is the best in the world. I have three little 8inch girls and collect clothing for them. Importing is expensive, but seeing them dressed in such lovely things makes it worth the cost.

Greetings Rachel,, we ,,, when I say we that means myself and my grandchildren some are girls some are boys but we enjoy your videos everybody thinks you're cute and funny. We all voted on Sissy's dress which one is our favorite but we all agreed that they were all pretty but I guess ,,, outfit number 7 is the winner today. Our family just wants to thank ,, Linda, Derek, Stanley , oh by the way happy birthday Stanley ....And to everybody else in the shop and behind the scenes, and to those wonderful people we did not recognize,,,, I didn't see Stephanie ,,,, but anyway thanks for the video for the day and yes you're still an angel to us Rachel ,,, keep up the great work. This Cissy doll is gorgeous. How lucky was the lady who owned and played with it. It was hard to choose which outfit was my favorite. I think my favorite of the Cissy fashions is the red pinafore with the striped blouse. It's just so smart and pert and neat. I could see reproducing this in Barbie size, and putting it on a Fashion Queen with a brunette wig.

I played with my mother's Cissy, we had a bunch of beautiful clothes....oh such fun I had with that doll. I would so like to have another. ❤️ She was a dark haired beauty too. Soon.....

Cissy is so pretty. She is one of my favorite Madame Alexander dolls, which I like in general. My favorite clothing pieces (can´t pick one) are the stunning, red ball gown (obviously), the blue and white dress (love the 50´s vibes) and the cute pretty red dress with stripes shirt, and the shoes that goes with the flower dress. And you rock your red dress too👍It is kinda like how we all hope to look when pregnant.
Dress #5 is my favorite. Do any of those outfits and shoes come in human size by chance? Lol. What a lucky girl she once belonged to. Cissy was very well taken care of.

Love, love, love Cissy. Always have, always will. I think my favorite is the blue floral dress. Well, no, the red gown, yeah, the red gown. But that swing coat with the polka dot bow is really great and I love swing coats. OK, the red gown to celebrate how GORGEOUS Rachel looks in her red gown. Cissy was the first fashion doll with a mature woman body. A bit controversial at the time, but Madame Alexander did it with such class and the clothes were FABULOUS!!!! I read once in one of the books that Madame A loved fashion so much she created dolls so she could create the fashion. THANK YOU for sharing Cissy and her wardrobe with us. A super treat of eye candy for sure.

I know this is an older video because that baby was born almost a year ago. But I have got to tell my Cissy story: about a month ago I was scrolling through Facebook marketplace at night and saw a sissy doll and practically jumped out of my skin because it was only $40. The next day after anxiously awaiting hearing back from the woman, I went to a little old lady‘s house and I felt like I was robbing her of the doll. So then I posted her on a doll group and found out that she was not, in fact, a Cissy doll. A look a like from the 50s.
Love your station. I watch it while cleaning the kitchen and folding laundry! It’s very relaxing. And very educational.

I would guess these 1955 dolls were made in the USA..but for many years Madame Alexander Dolls are made in China...I Remember when you could tour a NYC Madame Alexander factory? I never went...wish I had (lived on Long island). Oh..I just checked my 2 new Ellowyse dolls from January release....made in China.....I guess this is true for all mass produced dolls....except for small, at home cottage doll makers.....
I went to the MA factory in New York. It was very small at the time but still in operation. I’m so glad I was able to see it. The Tonner dolls would be 10x the price if made in America.

I see this dress and sunglasses on eBay at $170.00 I didn't bring it up to see the condition though. It's good to see the original doll clothes available.
