Can't wait!! I was so moved and amazed when I saw his performance on Les Mis as Javert, I thought: 'what an incredible voice!' Now I know he is gonna be The Phantom! OMG! And he will be performing with my favourite Christine: Sierra Boggess. I really hope I could see them!! Mom take me to NY! Congrats to Norm Lewis! He is gonna be a wonderful Phantom!

I like Norm Lewis, there's something royalty about him. He reminds me of an Egyptian King.

Norm is actually the second African American Actor to play the Phantom, The very first one was Robert Guillaume in the Los Angeles Company (replacing Michael Crawford). But Norm will be the first African American in the Broadway Company,

Will Norm & Sierra's version of "PotO" be filmed?

Everyone forgets that Robert Guillaume was the first African-American to play the role. No, it wasn't on Broadway, but he was the first and in a major company replacing Michael Crawford in LA.

Honestly, who cares what color or nationality he is - as long as a guy auditioning to play the role of the Phantom has the stuff to play the role, that's all that should matter. In regards to Norm Lewis' voice, his voice is pleasant but not quite my cup of tea when it comes to interpreting the role.

I loved Norm Lewis in Les Mis and I honestly am curious about how his voice will sound as the Phantom. His skin colour does not matter one bit, as long as he pulls the role off vocally that's all that matters. But I'm not worried I'm sure he'll do a fantastic job :D
