Ohhhh heck yeah!!! Just got home from work and listened to this. Cracked open a cold one and broke out my 1897 Banjo so east Tennessee is going to try and play along with you! Love it 🥰
@Kinnfolkmusic Actually pretty good! Rocking some nylgut strings on a old banjo head just patting my foot to this diddly. It's too cold to go splashing around in the creek here now so just enjoying your music 🥶🤭😀
Oh wow, I hope you guys are doing okay down there. We’re from Roanoke, VA, so we know a lot of people impacted by the flooding. We’re glad you enjoyed the song!
I find myself wanting to say that you should have waited for a sunny day and then realising where you are and that you've probably only ever seen the sun four times in the last six years.
Oh wow, thank you very much! We have a new album coming out at the end of February, and we already have two out of you want to explore. Thanks for listening, and I’m glad the video found you! ☺️
@@Kinnfolkmusic Thanks for replying, I appreciate it. I have already bought your Kinnfolk album (your first?) on iTunes & when finances permit I will get the next 2. Are you ever going to tour New Zealand?
This reminded me of the time I played bodhran at an Irish faire in L.A. It was raining and I didn't have a tunable. The skin just flapped around and was not playable. More's the pity. I loved the video and you guys were great! Slainte!
They are our friends from the Star City Céilí Band! Tim Sauls (bouzouki), Paul Brockman (fiddle), and Brandon Davis (pipes) all played on the track, too. I believe you also catch glimpses of the singer (Steve Heintzel) and percussionist (Rob Curtin), though they didn’t play on the track.
It is! And the synthetic head means that it doesn’t react to moisture, so the pitch doesn’t move around when you’re around rain or humidity. It’s a nice thing to have if you’re playing outdoors.
I have good news! All shots with the octave mandolin and shruti box were filmed on a cloudy (but not rainy) day, and the bodhran has a synthetic head that helped keep it safe. No instruments were harmed in the making of this video!
The River Rises, Brothers and Sisters. Praise be the Trawlerman!
The roots of our own american folk music. Good job cousins.

Absolutely and truly brilliant!
So very well done...Julies vocals just reach in and take hold of the soul....
Very enjoyable, love everything about it, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the beautiful ballad!🙏💜😎
Cheers from Nepal.
natural music is so majestic
Very appropriate song to go along with the Hurricane Helene tragedy. Greetings from Wilkes County, NC.

Some how , Some way , Some where there is magic in the voice and music.
Now that was fun. I'm half tempted to break out the old mandolin and knock the rust off a few jigs and reels.
Mysterious & Beautiful!🦘💙
I find myself wanting to say that you should have waited for a sunny day and then realising where you are and that you've probably only ever seen the sun four times in the last six years.
Funnily enough, we waited for a rainy day to film! We figured that a song about a flood needed a few good puddles for splashing around in…
....are we listening to the same lyrics?... do you see the title of the song?...
Wonderful job as always you two!
Excellent!
I'd be interested in hearing this sung in Gaelic! Even though I wouldn't understand it, I'd certainly feel it...
Direct descendant of Nialle Cialle of Callan, here in ashy Los Angeles, sending his deepest appreciation for your music.
Beautiful music 💖.
This is the first time hearing your music, really fantastic - just up my alley, thank you

The only thing that matters to me is that a very cuddly person has spirit.
Excellent 😊

I loved the video and you guys were great! Slainte!
Oh gosh, this is a MOOD. Nothing more frustration than a floppy bodhran!
Sounds great!
Great fun and who doesn't love jumping in puddles 😊
Joli! Merci du partage! Stéph.

Mira quina cançó més preciosa m'ha regalat aquest matí l'algorisme de youtube!
Who are the three musicians who joined you in the pub. Well done!

nice

Lovely music!
Is that a synthetic head on your bodhran? How does it do with the rain?
It is! And the synthetic head means that it doesn’t react to moisture, so the pitch doesn’t move around when you’re around rain or humidity. It’s a nice thing to have if you’re playing outdoors.
Great morning starter.
Pretty girl wading in a river . Lovely song . Lovely voice . Lovely dress & lovely back drop. What more could you want . Nice ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊 29 Jan 2025
Nice. It could be iterated upon, and experimented with further.
We’d love it if people played around with the melody and recorded their own versions!
Very danceable, and the song totally slaps. However, i think the drums could be louder and the vocals could be a little quieter.
is the water rising good or to be feared?
Where was this filmed ???
The river, the pub, and the Mill Mountain Star are all located in Roanoke, VA!
Watching her face I see Sean...
This just made me gay.
POOR INSTRUMENTS....RAIN DOES NOT SUIT THEM... SOUNDS GREAT, THOUGH! (FROM A BODHRAN AND OCTAVE MANDOLIN PLAYER)
I have good news! All shots with the octave mandolin and shruti box were filmed on a cloudy (but not rainy) day, and the bodhran has a synthetic head that helped keep it safe. No instruments were harmed in the making of this video!
you know there’s poop in there, right?
I love the dress. You should have long hair.
